So little backstory on what happened near the end there. When they dismounted to engage that checkpoint, that was when the towing script for Petros bugged out. Iirc it's something to do with the vehicle they had him riding, which he normally shouldn't be able to be on. Anyways, when Quebec started fiddling with the command menu to try and fix Petros, he somehow managed to instead cause the same debug issue with all the other players online at the time.
The place where they all teleported is where bugged stuff is thrown to by the game if the game isn't able to fix it. Cyanide, by some miracle, ended up just fine, so he was placed back where he was supposed to be. You can see for a brief moment that he's in the ocean with the rest of them.
Now the reason why they can't see Cyanide is probably because they're all still in debug, while he's, and I wouldn't be surprised if Quebec teleported them all there. Essentially he just wouldn't load in for them, and since they were using a radio mod to talk to each other, they couldn't hear him either.

I heard differently? Petros was set to follow a player who lost connection. So Petros was sent there as that's where the game places NPCs who lose commander, and get swept up to go to 'storage'.
The teleport function also failed with Cyanide and locked his location server side to the passenger seat of the vehicle.

    • @kartiplus4634
      @kartiplus4634 2 роки тому +14

From personal experience, what actually happened was that Petros was shot by the enemy as can be seen as he suddenly "disappears" right before soviet disembarks from the BRDM but sometimes him taking damage bugs him and makes him instantly "respawn" at the HQ location, which in this case, would be the HQ they were moving away from, so fast it doesn't register that he died, though sometimes, it also just makes him vanish from existence and Quebec fiddling with the debug caused the broken mess witnessed afterwards. The towing script has nothing to do with what happened throughout that whole thing and neither was it being used at all because that's a normal mount spot on that vehicle

Pointing this out in regards to Antistasi: One of the main rules is, you use whatever you have stored. This applies to your gear, guns, equipment and so on. When you pass a certain threshhold of them, you get limitless of that item.
Edit: You move your H.Q nearer towards the front lines to be able to do missions to win over the hearts and minds of the people, and disrupt and upset the enemy. They vary from "Deliver goods to this/that village" or "destroy this/that roadblock so the civilians can pass"

OK, here's the detailed explanation of what happened with Petros, same as when I posted this to answer the question of "WTF" back when Soviet posted the original Bullshittery.
Moogle had Petros grouped with him, specifically (since Moogle's the player commander) in order to transport Petros to the new HQ. Moogle is part of Womble's Task Group, and therefore shows up on Womble's HUD and ShacTac radar. On the original VOD, during the cleanup after firefight at the checkpoint, Moogle lost connection, and disconnected a few moments later. At that point, both Moogle and Petros disappeared from Womble's HUD/ShacTac. On the line "thank you whoever saved me", both Moogle and Petros are no longer displayed there. Looking at the status bar at the top of the screen, once they arrive in the swamp, you can see Quebec is the new player commander as a result of Moogle's DC.
In Antistasi, if you're controlling an AI and log off, the AI is transported to the garbage zone in the bottom corner of the map (ie, the middle of the ocean), and at the next server tick the AI is deleted and the Human Resources stat in your campaign is refunded for the cost of the AI. The server saw Moogle's disconnection as a logoff, and since Petros was part of Moogle's group, the game transported Petros to the garbage zone. This is why the team was transported to the garbage zone when Quebec tried to teleport them there: that was the last place the server "saw" Petros's location. However, being "deleted" and being "killed" are two different game states (normal AI which is deleted refunds your HR stat, but the HR stat is not refunded if the Ai is killed). Petros was deleted, not killed. And since Petros wasn't "killed", the Game Over screen never proc'd for them. Incidentally, this also borked the server, because it has entered a state it doesn't know how to be in. The server is checking to make sure Petros is alive or dead, and in the eyes of the game, Petros is neither alive *nor* dead, but has become some sort of Uncertainty Lich.
Thus, similar to the incident with the "mobile explosive device" and Aizen's dead-man switch, ZF is made victim to their own poor internet connections. Had Moogle not DC'd whilst controlling Petros, this never would have happened.

While he was living in Singapore he had to to do his compulsory military service, I heard it was as a fireman, and that helped him lose a lot of weight. He's actually only slightly husky last time I saw a full body picture of him, which was several years ago but I digress

Hey man, you make great content. You should check out a game called "Rebel Inc. Escalation". Given your experiences in the Iraq War, you definitely should give it a shot.
The Premise is that you are a governor that is responsible for stabilizing and rebuilding a war torn country but the Insurgents intend to derail that plan. In order to win, you must address concerns from the locals, maintain your international reputation, fight corruption and inflation, all while trying to fight the insurgents.
I would definitely recommend you try the game on Normal, but if you don't want to play it just yet, I would recommend you watch "Rebel Inc. Escalation: Brutal Guides - The Civil Servant + Saffron Fields" by Pravus(Note this video was in 2019 when the game was unfinished, all of the promised content is in the game now that it is 1.0). The video does give a good beginners guide and will make it easier for you to follow whats going on in the game.
Edit: 27:40 That is not an AA missile. That is a Anti Tank missile, likely the 9M113 Konkurs ATGM(NATO reporting name AT-5 Spandrel), introduced into service in 1974 by the USSR. The infantry launcher was mounted to some BMP-1s in lieu of the older 9M14 Malyutka [NATO: AT-3 Sagger] since the missile was much better overall to keep things simple, however being a infantry launcher just slapped on top, you had to get out and use it manually, exposing you shell fragments and small arms fire. The BMD-2 had a similar modification. The BMP-2 and BMD-3 had ATGM launchers integrated so that the gunner could use missile while staying protected, similar to the Bradley.

I'll remember that Afghanistan-argument for the next "soviet gear simple but works, Anerican gear expensive and overengineered" circlejerk. American equipment has to be complicated and expensive to run so insurgents can't steal it. That's why they all use AKs and T55s

This has likely been cleared up at some point, but I was able to watch some of the source material (Archived Sovietwobble's streams that he used to edit these together). A few bits where they are in Russian gear and the ending bit with Petros was actually done earlier in the playthrough, before they decided to restart and fight the Americans. The breaking of the server had them restart, and the bit around the midpoint of this series where they decide to fight the Americans instead of the Russians is basically after the stream they lost Petros. The bits with Soviet as a civilian working was done on his own at some later date. He liked the "lost Petros" bit and kept it for whenever the series would end, which I think was like half a year to a year after the Petros event.

8:55 "the flagpole" is pretty old slang for the chain of command, goes back at least to Vietnam, perhaps earlier. Someone in the mud gets a visit from the Good Idea Fairy and hands it off to his immediate command, who will then "run it up the flagpole, see if they like it" - not sure of the exact derivation, might not be inherently derogatory.

the pertinence of withdrawal only absolutely applied to the Vietcong. The professional North Vietnamese Army would regularly go toe to toe with American troops, inflicting casualties, and sometimes even defeating American troops. My grandfather was with MacV SOG in Vietnam and said that at least in the early stages of the war, the NVA were very professional and although they didn't always have superior air or armor assets, their infantry made them a near peer adversary.

I recall one a bit of lore and gameplay whit Antistasi is that one faction (who ever is your blueforce faction because how arma works) becomes your sponsor.
and will give your team money and supplies when you do mission and acts they like for the.
Example for the US (I tried it for like 20 min before something broke).
is Humanitarian aids missions, not shooting civilian, protecting towns from retaliation strikes from oppforce (default a not Russian equped faction I think).
do that and you get access to buy advance (for what the mod pack containing the US army force that I think goes up to about year 2005 or so) equipment and veacles,
Im 99% sure but the US (blueforce your sponsors) will never have any actuall forces on the island/map.
Might have a tinny port or something and might deploy something if you piss them off way to hard.

Funny thing is that it is VERY hard to find info on what Taliban actually captured. Every source is moderated to oblivion basically, only thing that are allowed to mention are soviet equipment and limited types of small arms. For example Wikipedia still has no list even on things Taliban members posed in front of. Because if it's american, it's not going on the list. I tried for several days to find an info if they actually gotten the M60's from greek supply that were supposed to be modernized and delivered to afghan forces back in 2018. The fate of those tanks is now a mystery. But they sure do have a lot of "soviet" equipment(actually most of those are chinese copies and I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of them are new arrivals from mothballed chinese and pakistani warehouses). Not saying that M60 is a step up from T-62, but it sure as hell is much more potent propaganda tool.
On the other hand, russian and chinese press would have had a field day with making photos with those tanks if they were there.
    So yeah, a mystery\/(-_-)\/
