Nice! I still have it on my door. While I prefer an all-in-one deadbolt replacement, this setup has been super reliable, so I'm happy with that.

Great video, not sure if you remember but I commented before about how I have this lock and liked it. I actually got another one for my back door. About your points, the one that really stuck out is how it takes 3 devices to accomplish what others do with just 1. The Keypad has to be separate, so I'll give them a pass on that. But the Hub is a different story. Bluetooth is Switchbot's bread n butter, but it really would have been nice if they could have added a thread radio. That way we could choose between Matter over thread or the Hub as a Matter Bridge. I would have gladly paid a little more if they did.
As for Home Assistant, I was already aware of what I needed to do. So I did that immediately and had no trouble getting the lock into my HA with the ability to control it. But fair point, others may not be aware and they'll be confused. I can see why this may be a confusing and frustrating experience for brand new users. I didn't have any issues because I already had prior experience. I think you make many good points about it but I still think it's a good lock considering the options and price point. As long as you can get over the bulky design lol.
One other thing. If you like the card option, you can get these really cheap cards or fobs on Amazon that can be used to unlock your door. I bought both a 10 pack of cards and fobs to test and both worked. The fobs are more convenient since you can hook them around your keychain. Their called Mifare and always say they're 13.56MHz.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Despite some of the frustrations that I listed, the lock has been completely reliable for me using Home Assistant, which is not something I can say for every smart lock.

Hello! Are you able to share if with home assistant set up, can we view who has unlocked the door for example, through the fingerprint or NFC card used? Thinking of use cases with Alarmo 😅

I am unable to see who unlocked it in Home Assistant. Instead, it shows if it was locked or unlocked by an automation, or manually.

Seems like such a hassle for something that's supposed to make your life easier. So many other options are far simpler and easier to install.

Right, I expected this to be less hassle as a retrofit lock.
