👉 Let me know if you’re using multi-target, multi-zone radar, or how you might use it in smart home automations.

Thanks for the video review! We really appreciate you showing how you actually use the device in your home. Also, the outtakes are a nice touch, especially the danger zone. Haha! Just wanted to mention that the included table top stand is backwards in your video and you should have an easier time mounting the MTR-1 with the longer side under the USB-C port. The LD2450 mmWave sensor is known for not having the best still detection and we will continue to look at different mmWave sensors to see if we can find something better. We are happy to answer any questions!
    Best,

This really is a next level device. Hoping drivers become available for Hubitat.

Automatons make sense if vou combine them with voice commands as confirmation. If you are just 2 seconds at one location I wouldn’t want this to have the lights go on. The presence and a voice wake up word combined would confirm I need light

You can add conditions to only perform the action after presence has been detected for a certain time interval to avoid the situation you described. Voice can be very helpful, but if I must confirm with voice each time I want something done, then it defeats the purpose of an automation for me.

Link to the code for the dashboard plot would be useful. I saw the link to the integration but no code

Code is featured at the bottom of this page: wiki.apolloautomation.com/books/mtr-1-ImK/page/zone-configuration-using-hlkradartool-app.

Have you used the Aqara FP2? If so, I'm curious how you would compare the 2 against each other.

Very familiar with it but have not used it based on prior testing I’ve seen on the FP2. Aqara makes some good devices, but I find the more DIY oriented options from smaller, Home Assistant-focused devices are really solid.

I have and it works great. The key is to place it correctly (1.3 - 1.8 mts height) it works better placed in corners, also you need to calibrate and add stickers to show where your forniture is

I have about 10 of the FP2, and while they can sometimes have false readings, the whole set process is super amazing. Being able to walk the room to map it out is very logical. The sensor and app you showed is the closest I've ever seen to FP2.
My main complaint of the FP2 is that you need Internet to configure. To be clear, you don't need it for regular use. I have firewall rules to keep them off the net because I don't trust Aqara as far as I can throw them. Hell if even caught their devices creating new MAC addresses so they can attempt to bypass firewall rules. Now I use MAC filtering on my IoT wifi network just for that reason.

Is it better than the fp2 aqara?

I know folks who are happy with it, but have not used it based on prior testing I’ve seen. Aqara makes some good devices, but I find the more DIY oriented options from smaller, Home Assistant-focused devices are really solid.

Zone configuration in the aqara app is pretty easy especially when you add furniture stickers to the floorplan. But it's also $30 more expensive (base price) and can't be upgraded with add-ons.
