I’ve got so much respect for Fareed Zakaria, his commentary on CNN always comes across as insightful and considered, and this interview is no different. Probably the most on point and nuanced analysis of the current situation that I’ve heard so far. If only we still lived in an age where this was the sort of content that helped shape public opinion, rather than the fire hose of disinformation that comes out of TikTok and Twitter etc.
He is just as those charlatans in the streets of Marrakech showing their skills to the tourists . Listen to him when he say you have to spend a good time with your kids , and he did not even had time to his mother who was a great scholar by not be present in his mother funérailles .
I'm so impressed with the high level of this interview. He's so lucid, limpid about such a polemic matter. Both so sensible about all sides of the issues, without the hysterical side we've been seeing. Really helped me a lot to understand all of it. As a brazilian, with many arabs friends(there are more Lebanese people here than in Lebanon )and having all my support to Jewish people I'm relieved and understand better to make my own view of things. Thanks to both of you.❤
Fareed Zakaria is Chinese plant in USA. His most argument has nothing to do with reality. Recently he claimed Khalistan movement is dead. while a US citizen who advocated for it openly threatened Hama's like attack on India. You have been successful fooled by All Taqiya tactic of Muslim
What an educated and intelligent explanation of the current state of the situation in Israel-Gaza. Non-partisan and based on facts. Congrats Prof G and Fareed.
Fareed zakaria is completely bought by angl00rrgime. He is just parroting its master's narrative. He has even abandoned his own muslim brothers and sisters. Why dont he even chamge his name to some angl0saxon name if he loves so much?
He’s wrong that israel has “won” though… they would have won if they had offered the Palestinians a viable state (another thing that Fareed is wrong on)… then they would have gotten away with their land grab. Now the only solutions are 1) extermination of the Palestinians 2) a one state solution Also he’s wrong about Biden’s judgment on Ukraine.
Thanks 👍 Fareed Zakaria for your Perspectives and Analysis, also Thanks for the Gentleman on your side, for his Cooperation 👋 May God Bless Both of you 🙏 ❤ AMEN 🙏
I have tried to find great, in depth discussion about recent events, and this has been one of the best I have found. It is easy to tell that Scott and Fareed are open-minded and deep thinkers that really look for the facts to drive their opinions. Even with their inherent biases they strive to find the truth, which is so refreshing. Well done Scott for this great interview. You have become must watch/listen for me.
Pls. give me a break. Zakaria's views on this subject are the same as mainstream corporate media views, which are pro-Israel to keep the pro-Israel lobby happy & not to offend them. That's what he was doing throughout this interview.
Wow! what a beautiful human Fareed is! Thoughtful compassionate discussing complex issues in relatable manner. As a parent I loved loved his views on parenting 🎉 excellent interview!
Fareed has given some excellent interviews recently. Scott has been the only one to ask about parenting; what a terrific question and terrific response.
Fareed nailed it there when he said that generally speaking, people have a lot of sympathy for the citizens of both Israel and Palestine, but not for the leadership. It is the actions of the government and the institutions that are often the cause of the people's woes.
I get your point & sympathize to an extent, but I’d add that this kind of tepid expression of regret for the loss of innocent life on both sides tends to be a way of eliding hard truths about Israel’s military occupation & the history of European colonialism. Focusing on failed political leadership reinforces the illusion that this is a war between opposing nation-states. It’s a conflict between colonizer & colonized, oppressor & oppressed. Saying or implying otherwise contributes, perhaps inadvertently, to the intractability of the violence. What’s needed now is moral clarity. Idle thoughts & prayers are unhelpful insofar as these short-circuit serious personal reflection & inquiry into the facts & history. I speak from experience. After supporting Bush in 2000 when I was 18, I have spent many hours trying to educate younger people about how US media frames conflicts in ways that neutralize what is still the most powerful force on earth: Western public opinion when it pierces through the bubble & says “enough of these lies, this ends now.” No need to respond. Thx for considering another perspective from someone who otherwise shares your sentiments.
Bourgeois capitalist empire. As Friedrich Hayek said the nation state is pure evil. We need to get rid of politicians and have direct democracy. Politicians tend to be evil men or women. With direct democracy and AI automation of administration we don’t need politicians. Politicians create drama so they can seize more power by responding to crises. That’s why false flag operations have existed even since time of Plato. Plato and Aristotle wrote about them Also note that emperor Valerian destroyed judea because it had troublemakers. Criminal behavior is criminal behavior does not matter the ethnicity or claimed being a descendant of a person no one can prove ever existed thousands of years ago It’s pathetic People don’t want to be individuals and live individual lives and take individual responsibility
That's why people should vote and vote wisely because it's who we put in power that influences our lives directly and indirectly. America is about to have an election. I really hope they vote wisely or it'll be the end of the world as we know it. Heaven forbid.
we need smart, educated people like Fareed Zakaria in government, especially in the GOP - those crazies like Jim Jordan, Marjorie and Trump will sink United States in the deep end if their wings won't be clipped...
This was an excellent video. Prof G - thank you for not interrupting as so many interviewers do. Truly a tragedy that requires passions on all sides to give way to self-interest of each side.
Prof G, wow. A guest with real world intelligence. The econ repercussions of the current Turk to Saud to Iran interactions brought to light, very impressive. Recognizing the general lack of U.S. population comprehension to the Palestine situation with a knowledgeable and easily understood authority on the subject, quite the educational offering. You show detail awareness giving Fareed an opportunity to make points mostly not addressed by other outlets. Cheers.
raoultesla2292: Is there anything stopping US citizens from reading books on history and other subjects, why do you rely on talking heads for information? It makes US citizens seem illiterate and backward when they cannot demonstrate the ability to research and analyse any issue in its proper context.
This gentleman has given an astute explanation of the conflict in an historical and contemporary explanation. Americans are not well educated about world history and the truth about the errors of US and European handling of the Israeli and Gaza crisis! Judge your News sources carefully or you'll be lead over the Cliff!
You must be kidding. Zakaria's views are not original. They are the same exact mainstream corporate media views on the subject, which are pro-Israel views.
*Zakaria is a straight up genius. Hard to deny if you’re privy to his appearances on the Munk debates. Loved this! Scott should definitely have him on again!*
I do not think because he is concisely informed that he is a genius . But then again if you are comparing with people generally , genius is not the word .
yeah,, knowledgable alright but impartial ?,,i never think so,, he s too leftist , majority of time on most issues he sides with the democrats or even progressives,, looks to me he is tied with far left globalist or if not tied he promotes their ideologies !!!
Farred is one of the most brilliant minds the world today has. He has an amazing grasp on international issues. He speaks his mind so convincingly and dispassionately. In every opportunity, I watch his programs and read his books on contemporary international issues. My deep regards to you dear Fareed. Looking forward to seeing you more on US mainstream media. Nasir Uddin from Bangladesh
No, he is not. He is providing the same old pro-Israel views. Nothing new. That's why the problems of US unfair involvement in that tinderbox region keep repeating themselves.
Whenever I watch a video of Fareed discussing any topic he always impresses me. This video is no exception. Highly knowledgeable, considered, practical and sensitive, he explains complex issues concisely and seems to always draw the correct conclusions (for me anyway). If only our politicians were as principled and insightful. Thanks for a great video
As someone who has lived in those countries although generally impressive, not everything Zakaria says is gospel. I've found that in other interviews of his as well. One big omission in this interview is how much undercurrent of dissatisfaction there is with Crown Prince Salman from the people of Saudi as well as the religious groups. Continued royal governance in Saudi is not a certainty and if recognition of Israel occurs, it will give impetus to remove the Saudi monarchy and reversing Israeli recognition by a caliphate or whatever is the replacement.
@@natigolden-l6s I don't get much information from Al Jazeera or MEE, but the BBC reporters have really disappointed me with their coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian events during the last two weeks. Particularly when they try to give historical and geopolitical context, or they push their agenda by topic selection or omission.
This was an amazing interview. I have always appreciated FZ’s approach with the analysis of history. Extremely informative. As always, prof G asks the most important questions on the issues. There were hardly any show of dramatic emotions, yet much was expressed. 31:47: on 2024 US elections: “the most powerful person on earth will be elected by the vote of 50,000 to 100,000 people” referring to the electoral votes of the rural parts of the states like Georgia, Wisconsin, etc…… This should really petrify the entire population in this country and the rest of the world. Bravo to you both.
Thank you Scott Galloway for inviting this valuable guest. He knows so much the geopolitical activities & cultures in those Regions. He is so knowledgeable Another of my few favorites reporters/Journalists Thank you 🇫🇷🇺🇸
No, he is not so knowledgeable on this issue. His view is basically the same as the mainstream media view in the US on the subject, which is pro-Israel. I find his comment (which is mainstream media comment) that the Palestinians should have taken what Israel was willing to offer them of their own lands to be highly repugnant.
@@simplified7815 Wait. Are you implying that the Jewish people weren't originally from that area? That it's not their ancestorial land? They've been around for 3K years. And yes. A two state solution, a long time ago, would have been better for everyone. And like Fareed, or really anyone, understands that the best time to negotiate is when you're coming to the table at a position of strength. As time goes on, and as one party becomes stronger while the other becomes weaker, the stronger typically gets the better deal.
Wow this is the best interview I have watched in a long time. Both people are highly intelligent, knowledgeable and respectful to one another. More please.
Wow, one of the best interviews I've seen. Fareed is a monster, eloquent, intelligent and crisp in his wording, making his deep and complex thoughts and line's of reasoning so easy to understand and digest. Everyone has something to learn from him.
Thank you so much for this conversation! It's a breath of fresh air to receive unbiased education. I learned a lot about the motives and mindsets of the major geopolitical players. It helps me feel more secure and optimistic about the future.

The best I heard for these historical conflicts was from a Greek Army General. "These conflicts will end when leaders of both nations start loving their children more than hating their enemies"
@@dinaf1409in fact, you may never be able to say it about Palestinians. They value martyrdom for their children as an actual model of excellence and pride. It’s why and how Hamas and the PLO have historically had so many willing suicide bombers at the ready. Children and teens, the whole lot of them.
@dinaf1409 Yes, you can. They just attacked Israel 🇮🇱 murdering innocent people, babies. Palestinians this is your doing guilty of murder. you get what you give!
An excellent conversation, thank you for this! Fareed Zakaria can always be counted on for a well informed, balanced opinion. This is an insightful and real commentary on what's happening, stripped of all drama added by many news networks.
Yeah, this was the kind of discussion that I enjoy and gravitate toward. Where, at the end of the talk, you feel like you've learned something as opposed to simply being made upset, like so many of the talking heads that only truly care about getting attention, no matter whether it provides real value or not.

Fareed Zakaria: “Israelis have been trying to do this extraordinary move which is to completely marginalize the Palestinians... Netanyahu really pushing forward to try to make a deal with Saudi Arabia which would really marginalize the Palestinians... He has a very extreme right-wing coalition... He has people in that coalition who basically don't believe there should be any kind of Palestinian State at all... They want a greater Israel as they call it from the Jordan river to the sea and that means no West Bank no Gaza... I don't know what they plan to do with the 5 million Palestinians on those lands... the Netanyahu government has been very hardline mostly in the West Bank you know, shootings, arrests, killings, thousand of Palestinians prisoners... so you know you gotten to the point where Israeli-Palestinian relations were terrible... the Palestinians are looking and seeing they're being marginalized... the government in Israel had focused almost single-mindedly on three issues: 1. Overturning judicial Independence... 2. Normalizing relations with Saudi Arabia... 3. Creating de facto annexations on the ground in the West Bank to make a Palestinian State more and more unviable...” It is astounding to hear Fareed's bias during the rest of this interview, considering his previous fact-based conclusions. What did Fareed expect of the Palestinian leadership, considering his fact-based conclusions? How can Fareed talk of the “barbaric Palestinian leadership” - without - equally concluding the “barbaric Israeli leadership”, especially after having concluded that Israel has a very extreme right-wing coalition, who don't believe there should be any kind of Palestinian State at all, who want a greater Israel, who have been very hardline in the West Bank, shootings, arrests, killings, thousand of Palestinians prisoners, Palestinians being marginalized, and the de facto annexations on the ground in the West Bank to make a Palestinian State more and more unviable? So sad, fact-based conclusions at the beginning, and very biased reporting afterwards In loving memory of Yitzhak Rabin!!!
This is an important and very informative interview that will, hopefully, be widely viewed. Fareed Zakaria is a highly intelligent, sensitive and thoughtful teacher. I learned a lot by watching this "clip". The remarks by both men toward the end of the interview regarding age, and the role of a parent are very meaningful. It was interesting to learn more about Mr. Zakaria's personal life, his background, and his role as a father of 3 children. He is obviously a good parent, and a decent human being; Someone in touch with the "real world", and "right on target" in his political, social, and economic understanding of it.
I used to think the same. But he is very wrong on this one. No indepth knowledge. He's been listening to a lot of lies the US and Israel have posted and spoken.

Fareed has such a great smile. So easy and laid back and kind. Very interesting insights. Keep sharing, keep explaining, it's helpful to people who wish to educate themselves!
Have been following Fareed for 20 years, an amazing mind, and an eloquent speaker and writer. Thank you for organising this, very thoughtful and insightful.
A great, even and factual conversation. The world needs much more of this but sadly, if anything, we are seeing less and less of informed and balanced conversations.
This was very educational. Thank you for not using it in a political way to place blame on any administration but explaining to those of us who doesn't understand the history. Thank you
please wake up no offense, he is a big BS. He is from India ( born and raised in India) and trying to make is a Middle Eastern person only connection is his Muslims.
A really complex situation. The actors of the war are not who they think they are. Hamas does not fight for the Palestinians nor the Palestinians against Israel.. These days you had some friends who were NOT. Iran is not involved, but it could be.. Everything depends on the development of the situation in the west. Israel is alone. I support peace.
Fareed I am in Trinidad and you are one of my favourite CNN hosts. I love your analogy about our kids "see them as a movie and not as a snap shot- all their phases pass" - I have 5 kids - eldest 40 and youngest 8 and your words ring true.
Fareed you Always want to play to the American Administration to guard your position. I know you feel differently. Like all journalists you are a mouthpiece for the administration. That is not journalism. Where is your conscience?

I used to read Fareed Zakaria a lot years ago and always liked him. Over the years as I stopped reading and seeing him in magazines, I kind of forgot about him. It's great that he is still the wise, smart and sensible commentator that I remember.
What a pleasure to listen to you both and what a fair and honest discussion on a variety of topics. I so enjoyed listening to Fareed. I have so much respect for him and it was such a delight to get almost an hour of listening to him instead of shorter sound bites often limited by the medium.
It is 100% possible to feel sympathy for the Israelis and Palestinian people and simultaneously condemn the attacks and violence levied upon them by their governments and leaders.
Mahmoud Abbas is a graduate from School of espionge Lomomba in Moscow just like his fellow graduate the leader of Shia terrorist anti Islam Khamenoff in occupied Iran the financier of islamic terror around the globe???
@janechoy, agree. But if you are raised as a consumer and with the constant urge to be the best business-version of your self, you stay immature, caught in split vision thinking. That's why the capitalistic/neoliberal culture is poison for human development.
"yes, but" - remember that around 60+ % of palestinians are pro hamas. There are many who have a hateful islamist fundamentalist view of the world and cheer everytime their rockets fly towards israel. Of course not all palestinians are that - but many are.
I used to watch Fareed on CNN for years religiously, but Sadly I'm not Watching Fake CNN anymore, so nice to see Fareed on Other News Great Conversation I hope He can use His Power To have peace Between Israel & Palestinians.
That was great! Scott asks great questions. I saw a billboard one time that said, don't worry if your kids don't listen to what you say, they watch everything you do. Fareed said essentially the same thing. KB
I have a new appreciation of Fareed now seeing he is really able to provide deep, balanced, insights rather than just talking one particular doctrine. I am impressed and will watch and more importantly listen closely to his views of a very complex and dynamic world. Thanks to you both.
Fareed genuinely understands the complicated dynamic between Israel, its allies, and detractors. No one else speaks with such refreshing honesty and ground level knowledge.
I am a Pakistani American Millennial [naturalized citizen] who has grown up watching Fareed Zakaria and CNN. I greatly appreciate his nuanced perspective. Amidst the ongoing crisis in Israel, my heart truly goes out to the victims affected by Hamas militants. This is a remarkable video that discusses the issue of 'angry young men.' It's also one of the very few videos that touches upon the haunting reality of internally displaced children. I sincerely hope that we can all come together, setting aside our differences in terms of nationality, culture, and religion, to contemplate the future of our planet and, more importantly, the well-being of all children. Online sources indicate that a substantial 41% of internally displaced populations IDPs are children. This equates to nearly 25 million young lives burdened with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is indeed heartening to learn that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is finally taking steps towards granting women more freedom, and hopefully, this will serve as an inspiring model for a more progressive interpretation of Islam across the globe. Women's education and empowerment are closely linked to reducing the prevalence of militancy in the world IMHO.
Very well written. Angry young men ánd PTSD of refugees is a problem in European cities, also. Unfortunately there is a huge shortage of professional psychological aid.
In 2006 during OEF-A 'Hearts & Minds volunteered for covert humanitarian mission down to Kandahar, dressed as Afghan among a group of Afghans. Fareed if I can be on first name base with you, I have listen and watched your show from day one. I must say I am still intrigued with the knowledge and simple common sense to every aspects of the situations that goes on in this world.......Thank you for being there for us [united States}
Thanks for sharing this insightful discussion. I am very impressed by Fareed Zakaria keen observation and profound knowledge of the Middle-East history and its geopolitical interests. He is absolutely right on each issue raised on this discussion
But what knowledge and understanding you have ...in order to assess his take? If none. Then no. You haven't 'learnt' anything. You simply ingested someone's else's opinions.
What a great, wide reaching conversation! Wonderful to focus in at first on the hottest issues, but then the wider focus really put today in perspective. Fareed is THE guy for this kind of perspective.
Not necessarily. I thought that was a great discussion about the current situation with Israel and the Palestinians but his comments about Ukraine are a disaster. Ukraine is out of soldiers. Time for a peace deal.
Lovely interview Scott. You get a lot of great stuff out of your guests - we see the world a little more clearly. That's not so common and is much appreciated.
Fareed, sir, you may be mixing up time as you get older, but your grasp on geopolitics improves every time I hear you! We are all more enriched because of you sharing this.
Thank you, Scott, for doing this brilliant show. As you said in your intro, Fareed Zaharia is amazing beyond. Neither he nor you disappointed your listeners. A must listen to uTube .
I so agree with those sentiments. I'm a non US citizen from the developing world and I really look forward to listening to Fareed's concise analysis on CNN. Always interesting, nuanced, thoughtful. Thanks Prof for an excellent interview.
Fareed always promotes the zionist israeli narratives. He's not fair to the Palestinians and will not dare to criticize the israeli war crimes against the Palestinians
I am a Chinese. I have been studying English, studying English humor and Western culture for many years. I have watched a lot about religions and Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Everyone has their own attitude. The problem seems unsolvable. So sad. I hope people of different cultures can communicate with each other and achieve world peace. Naive? but sincere. I’ve made a video about the comparison between Chinese and English and many videos teaching Chinese in graphic and funny ways. I want to contribute to better communication between people from different cultural backgrounds.
Everyone talks about peace among everyone all the time, what you don't understand is that Hamas is a terrorist organization that is here to murder Jews, you will see it in the horrible range, thousands of innocent civilians murdered, babies kidnapped, rape of women, kidnapping of citizens to Gaza, abuse, killing of parents in front of their children, these are things that remind The Holocaust or ISIS
How the west created fake history from Superstitions, and fairy tales. According to archeology the claimed history of Israel never existed, there was no David nor Solomon nor a kingdom called Israel in the past. There is no one lived in the stomach of a whale nor parted the red sea with his stick for Israel to cross to Palestine. Only people with little IQ or none will believe such stories, the real fact is, Palestine was inhibited by the Canaanite Arabs and Egyptians when other Arab tribes, the Assyrians and Akkadian invaded Egypt and took prisoners from Palestine and Egypt enslaving them for many years 900bc-525bc until they were freed by Persians in 525bc, during their capture they had many exaggerated and fictional stories written which was the base of a Jewish religion that was forced on the rest of the Arab land for a short period of time when the Greeks invaded The area.
You know when Michael Jackson was alive he almost achieved peace between all people.. but it’s the politicians & governments that want to keep fighting for self serving agendas & vested interests and innocent people have to suffer. If you see how much lies & propaganda are spread in the Israel Hamas war even by established outlets & repeated by Presidents, one can understand how Michael Jackson was a victim of systemic persecution and false propaganda. He was very very powerful & influential.. the best speech he made for today’s situation is the one he made at Exeter football club.
It is going to take many more generations before we are living in a post-military world. But your hope for something like that is shared I believe by billions of people, but we also tell stories to our children that teach them all the history of hatred for this group and that, not as a lesson of what not to do, but as a core of their identity, and so until we learn to tell a different set of stories to our children, we will continue to fail in delivering for them a peaceful world to live in.
Fareed said two important things, one about Ukraine and one about Afghanistan that just went over Scott's head. Very specifically, Fareed said (about Ukraine) "they are not going to give up, this is an existential threat". About Afghanistan he said "we are the foreigners...its the easiest thing in the world to arouse nationalistic opposition against an occupying foreigner". Hello? Israel ->. Palestine anyone?
Exactly,Ukrainians fighters are freedom fighters and heroes and Palestinians fighters are terrorists, he didnt even mention the Genocide going in Gaza not even once, and trying to impose all the lies what intl media spreading about Hamas, very shameful
Incredible interview. Fareed is the best, most clear-eyed political commentator out there right now. One does not need to agree with him - given how early in the conflict this interview took place, he was quite clear is warning about challenges ahead.
The most useful interview I have seen on the events of the past week in Israel & Gaza. It's so difficult to get thoughtful, informed commentary on the important issues in the Middle East. Thanks to both of you! 43:26
Possibly the most thoughtful discussion of the current (oct 2023) Israel and Palestine issue. Two brilliant and well meaning people with different perspectives dig deep into the current situation, the history that brought us here, and the implications going forward.
Absolutely incredible conversation. Thank you and well done. Fareed’s wisdom, clarity and authenticity is rare and we’re lucky to have him in front of a microphone
Fareed’s reflection on who will elect the most powerful man in the world is the headline for anyone who feels that democracy as we know it has run its course.
I sent this to my son pursuing his Religion and Political Science degree- instead of ignoring it, he listened to it right away. Both of you have a way of engaging not only adults but the youth and base it on logic and are willing to learn as you go - thank you for this interview..It was excellent
Discovering this channel has been such a blessing. This wholesome approach to discussing the world's most burning issues is the kind of media built for the future. Thank you Professor Scott Galloway for putting this together.
Up to a point yes, but the Palestinian charter is to destroy Israel. That would need to be revised for us to take them remotely seriously again given recent barbarism.

@@abdellatifismael4112you talk all that crap but you can’t prove that is true

I'm so impressed with the high level of this interview.
He's so lucid, limpid about such a polemic matter.
Both so sensible about all sides of the issues, without the hysterical side we've been seeing.
Really helped me a lot to understand all of it.
As a brazilian, with many arabs friends(there are more Lebanese people here than in Lebanon )and having all my support to Jewish people I'm relieved and understand better to make my own view of things.
Thanks to both of you.❤
yup,i am israeli and though i disagree with fareed on some topics and i believe he left some crucial points out,he didnt give any lies of half truths.
I always love Fareed's balanced, insightful and reasonable analysis on global events. His show is the only one that's a must see for me from CNN.
What an educated and intelligent explanation of the current state of the situation in Israel-Gaza. Non-partisan and based on facts. Congrats Prof G and Fareed.
I'm not seeing it that way. I respect him, but I hear a lot of white washing Hamas and blaming Israel.
@MarioCuervoagree.
When are you being interviewed Mario for your expert, academic knowledge on the region ?@MarioCuervo
Now the only solutions are 1) extermination of the Palestinians 2) a one state solution
Also he’s wrong about Biden’s judgment on Ukraine.
I love Fareed! Been thirsting for some serious, grown up analysis, along with a bit of life advice. What a breath of fresh air this guy is!
Pls. give me a break.
Zakaria's views on this subject are the same as mainstream corporate media views, which are pro-Israel to keep the pro-Israel lobby happy & not to offend them. That's what he was doing throughout this interview.
@@simplified7815100%

Wow! what a beautiful human Fareed is! Thoughtful compassionate discussing complex issues in relatable manner. As a parent I loved loved his views on parenting 🎉 excellent interview!
Fareed has given some excellent interviews recently. Scott has been the only one to ask about parenting; what a terrific question and terrific response.
His show on CNN is serious. It's like being in a college lecture. He of course isn't perfect he's is obviously ascewed but it's at least thoughtful.
This is seriously one of the most informationally-dense global discussions I've heard in a long time 🙏
Fareed nailed it there when he said that generally speaking, people have a lot of sympathy for the citizens of both Israel and Palestine, but not for the leadership. It is the actions of the government and the institutions that are often the cause of the people's woes.
Netanyahu is Israel’s Trump. He’s a m*nster. No surprise Netanyahu is now on trial! In our country, Trump has 92 charges!
After supporting Bush in 2000 when I was 18, I have spent many hours trying to educate younger people about how US media frames conflicts in ways that neutralize what is still the most powerful force on earth: Western public opinion when it pierces through the bubble & says “enough of these lies, this ends now.”
No need to respond. Thx for considering another perspective from someone who otherwise shares your sentiments.
For real!! It’s like how are you gonna praise Mohammed but make no profits?
Bourgeois capitalist empire. As Friedrich Hayek said the nation state is pure evil. We need to get rid of politicians and have direct democracy. Politicians tend to be evil men or women. With direct democracy and AI automation of administration we don’t need politicians. Politicians create drama so they can seize more power by responding to crises. That’s why false flag operations have existed even since time of Plato. Plato and Aristotle wrote about them
Also note that emperor Valerian destroyed judea because it had troublemakers. Criminal behavior is criminal behavior does not matter the ethnicity or claimed being a descendant of a person no one can prove ever existed thousands of years ago
It’s pathetic
People don’t want to be individuals and live individual lives and take individual responsibility
That's why people should vote and vote wisely because it's who we put in power that influences our lives directly and indirectly. America is about to have an election. I really hope they vote wisely or it'll be the end of the world as we know it. Heaven forbid.
I never get tired of listening to Fareed Zakaria. Thank you for having him on the show.
we need smart, educated people like Fareed Zakaria in government, especially in the GOP - those crazies like Jim Jordan, Marjorie and Trump will sink United States in the deep end if their wings won't be clipped...
he says that biden has done more than any other democratic president since Johnson. WTF. you can't worship this guy. he's very very partisan.
👌
This was an excellent video. Prof G - thank you for not interrupting as so many interviewers do. Truly a tragedy that requires passions on all sides to give way to self-interest of each side.
Fareed, you’re great, I mean it, you’re a full of wisdom 🙏🏽

Apartheid Israel

I don't know what they plan to do with the 5 million Palestinians on those lands... the Netanyahu government has been very hardline mostly in the West Bank you know, shootings, arrests, killings, thousand of Palestinians prisoners... so you know you gotten to the point where Israeli-Palestinian relations were terrible... the Palestinians are looking and seeing they're being marginalized... the government in Israel had focused almost single-mindedly on three issues:
1. Overturning judicial Independence...
2. Normalizing relations with Saudi Arabia...
3. Creating de facto annexations on the ground in the West Bank to make a Palestinian State more and more unviable...”
It is astounding to hear Fareed's bias during the rest of this interview, considering his previous fact-based conclusions.
So sad, fact-based conclusions at the beginning, and very biased reporting afterwards

Thank you for acknowledging the Israeli victims of the atrocities done by the Hamas, who made the worst war crimes against humanity since ISIS

What can you say about Han dynasty hegemony?
You nailed it, another corrupt sell out journalist. Shame on him.
As a westerner who is saddened by what he sees happening and knows some, but not nearly enough of the history and perspective, thank you for this.
What a wonder, insightful, informative pod cast. This was so refreshing in a sea of noise. Quality content is out there, if you’re looking for it.
Fareed's grasp of the issues is superlative. Thanks for this informative video.
Wow! Fareed is always on top of the heap of insight. Good questions, excellent answers.
Zakaria is one of the best journalists for geopolitics. Always willing to to give his opinions a listen.
Great stream guys, thanks for the information many don't talk about
Discovering this channel has been such a blessing. This wholesome approach to discussing the world's most burning issues is the kind of media built for the future. Thank you Professor Scott Galloway for putting this together.
Fantastic! Thank you Scott and Fareed!
This is the best conversation I have listened to on this topic.
Fareed - what a brilliant analysis of the current world affairs. I hope the leaders in the Middle East are watching and listening to this interview!
Up to a point yes, but the Palestinian charter is to destroy Israel. That would need to be revised for us to take them remotely seriously again given recent barbarism.
This is the best interview I have seen in a while.. Fareed is genuine, intelligent, personable..
