- Oil paint streaking is a fantastic way to add some dirt and grime to your models. Don't be put off by the fact that they are different to your normal acrylic paints. They are very easy to work with.
Our favourite brands of oil paint are Winsor & Newton Artist's Oil colours and Abteilung 502

Alright I'm sold. If your Pateon videos are delivered as nicely (and I'm sure they are), it'll be money well spent.
Thanks!! And Patreon is a mixture of longer more in depth videos plus pdf tutorials (mobile optimised)
Lovely job, I've just started mucking around with oils myself, quick, simple tutorial for beginners!
Excellent 👍👍
Great video! Your videos are always informative, thanks!
Have been using this video for reference a lot. Great video!
Great work Henry - this is exactly the sort of techniques I've been playing with recently :D
Thanks mate. Oils are the best!
good stuff
Super simple and helpful for newbies like myself! Thank you! Also, what is that light blue color you used on the titan model at the end?:)
Its the 2 citadel air SoH greens plus a bunch of oils. It's in this weeks patreon article

Thanks Henry, going to try this soon for sure. How should you protect the oil streaks after they dry, a matte varnish maybe?
Don't need to protect them mate, oil dries really hardwearing.
Cult of Paint amazing, thanks. Going to experiment on some terrain this weekend.
@@cultofpaint how long does it take to dry?
Great video. What colours would you use for streaking and damage over black?
The same ones. They’ll still show up.
These are great! Where do you get the little metal dishes?
Mr Hobby make them
Great stuff guys! Quick question is If we want the final result to be more matte, do we need to use the polyurethane before doing the damage? Or do we seal with with something else after to matte it out?
You can matte it after damage. No need to seal anything.
@@cultofpaint thanks for the reply, what sort of product are you using to matte it?
What varnish do you use through your airbrush? Apologies if I have missed that already.
Vallejo Polyurethane Gloss Varnish. You can thin it with any airbrush thinner.
hey, bit of an old video to comment on but looking for advice! The streaking example at the start you talked about a lighter shade and darker shade of what's already there. What if the base coat is white? Where do you go lighter than that?
A white and a grey, or brown, or blue etc.
@@cultofpaint Thanks guys!
Do you have to seal the paint first with a varnish first?
You don't have to no. We normally do though.
damn what colors did you use to paint the knight?
There's a full tutorial for the titans on our Patreon www.patreon.com/cultofpaint
@@cultofpaint O nice ill defo be subscribing to that
