Gotta remember that the compressed CO2 in the soda gives a lot of extra boost to the expansion of the liquid.. take out the soda and replace with plain water and you will see noticably more realistic results.
When my father was the fleet maintenance supervisor at Keeseville, NY Pepsi-Cola, the warehouse guys kept us well-stocked with "breakage". They were always putting cases of soda in his truck. I would say in 1988 or so, we ended up with a three-liter bottle of Diet Cherry Cola Slice. Nobody wanted to be the one to open that damned bottle. So it sat in the cold cellar for about five years... I got to where I couldn't stand to look at it, so I left it in the sun for a while, then shot it with my dad's Ruger Blackhawk. Used a .357 hollow point. It was... interesting... I shot it from 20 yards or so, as I knew it was going to be a "Gallagher Concert".
Check and see if your recoil spring is too long. It will coil up and not let yhe slide go all the way to the rear putting stress on the spring plug and front of the slide. This may be why you lost your front sight. Even if it's the stock spring the gun came with it can happen. Great video.
they'll take care of you. one time I got stupid out in the field and took the magazine apart on my 9 mm ruger pistol and lost part of it. Lol I called ruger the next day told them I was dumb said I was willing to pay for it and they shipped me one for free. They're a great outfit to deal with!
I have a Kimber 45cal Raptor and I love it. It's been an awesome gun, it's so Precision built it is difficult to break down, that is the disadvantage that I do not like.

I plan to do a video on this eventually- what's nice about a .22lr pistol is you can accurately place the shots as fast as you can pull the trigger with little training. The same can't be said for 9mm (for example)...
So you were right, I looked on a box of Circa 2011 velocitors and it just says 40 grain plated hollow point. The box also says Speer though so I think people just automatically assume it's a gold dot.
I remember seeing somewhere though that they were supposedly "gold dots." Maybe their website, an advertisement, or maybe it was just some bs thread on a gun forum or something. I had somebody else say they were gold dots too though, so it came from somehwere...
I noticed your pistol grip. have you ever tried the combat pistol grip with both thumbs forward? i prefer it. ive tried both. yours isn't wrong and everyone is different. If you're effectively hitting your target thats what counts

I could barely watch the vid after seeing the first shot. I grabbed my shadow systems MR920 and tried to hold it like you did, before leaving a comment……you need to change your grip. I don’t care if it works for you, your grip feels unsafe.

Thanks for watching both- I got a few more iterations of these now with different fun targets and with rifles and shotguns too. Still working on more...
Be cautious when sourcing ".380 +P" ammo. Unlike .38 special, 9x19, and .45 ACP, there is no SAAMI specification for .380 +P. Because of the lack of a standard, ammo listed as +P can be anywhere from a 5% increase in pressure to double pressure. Be very sure of your gun and be very confident in the manufacturer of the ammo before firing it. Also... please don't use it in any blowback design. As for 90gr Speer Gold Dots, you can order them (bullets only) from Midway. You'll still need powder, primer, and brass.
When I shot pint soda bottles of water with my Python, the lock/safety ring that stays on when the cap is removed flat disappears. I can find the cap that flys off but not that ring !!
Well I've made up my mind, I don't wanta be shot with any of em. I do believe there was a substantial difference in the .380 and 9mm. I recently changed my small carry gun from an LCP to a P365. My big city carry gun is still a Glock 27. We all know what lives in the hatcheries of the big cities.
I guess they do! Never seen it though (probably because I wasn't looking lol). Sheeit, for that matter I just realized they were Sunkist and not Fanta 🤣
I would rather see this test with water jugs or something not under high pressure. The pressure released when these are shot introduces an incredible amount of noise into your test results. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!

Bro ive never shot soda but I was planning on shooting today and I wanted to make it more exciting with reactive targets so I got two soda jugs and Halloween decorations to pop.
I would like to make reasonable suggestion: (not sure what state you live in so taking that into consideration here goes) we all seen these test in many channels however we haven't seen what these calibers would do to actual tissue organs. So my suggestion would be to get either beef-pork kidneys or liver then encase it in ballistic gel. I think that would be not only a realistic test but it would answer one of the most popular debates out there "STOPPING POWER" 9mm vs 45acp vs .40s&w. Also it will be interesting to see what's the difference between all these cartridges. Thank you for the video.
Well I'm not sure about actual organs, but I do plan to eventually shoot big hunks of meat when I can afford such (I think the cost is why most channels don't). And obviously in a self defense scenario, one (typically) is not aiming for the liver or kidney- but I sorta understand why you are requesting those. Putting some things in the videos like kidneys or hearts may be a little too gruesome for some viewers, but I don't think liver is too bad considering that's commercially sold in about every grocery store for consumption (unlike hearts and kidneys). I did have the idea to submerge meat covered ribs into gel, liver might be a good idea as well. I'll see what I can come up with...
