I know this video is a few years old but it was very helpful and informative, I was able to pick up the exact same items from Lowe's and print out the template and execute flawlessly and now my broken clamp issue is no more! Thanks for documenting your experience with this for others to learn and replicate.
thx bro - glad it was helpful to you and you got it back working. happy driving/gaming!!
Great vid, thanks a bunch. My desk is also constructed in a way that prevents my clamps from fully clamping on to the desk’s surface, causing my G29 to be very unstable and occasionally pop off. Two M6 bolts later and it’s solid as a rock!
Can we do follow same process what u Said ? I
Thanks - The template is just what I need. I am tired of my G29 coming off my desk when of suddenly have to avoid a spinning car in front of me.
Thank you so much my desk has a stupid metal bar that the mounts dont fit even when taking off the extenders
You're welcome - happy to help!
same boat, was considering just buying table legs from ikea or home depot, but this seems to be much more affordable
Thanks for sharing the solution! Logitech should be ashamed for making a product that causes so much trouble for their customers. M6 (6mm) drill and screws work great for me.
Thank you for sharing the link to that template. It really helped!
Thank you, this helped me out a ton. Especially that schematic, with exact measurements!
Thx for letting me know - happy to hear it helped!
I got my G923 last night, and was so frustrated. I have the exact same desk as you, and the wheel would not stay mounted. Will definitely be making a trip to the hardware store today and implementing the fix. Unfortunate to have to grab a power tool to enjoy racing games, but like you said, it's what you have to do as a Gamer.
👍
You rock, this saved me a ton of time. wheel is rock solid now
Glad to hear it. Happy driving!
Great video! My G29 right clamp recently broke apart and I could play for a week now and this video helped me a lot. Thanks!!!
Super helpful. Definitely doing this when mine comes in. Good work!!
Glad it helped. Good luck with your install!
That helps heaps I seen other videos with the non slip blocks and tried that over and over again to no success..I play rally 2.0 and when I crash or hard turn it just falls off but this is most likely the only way to do it so thanks heaps I will give this a shot and I will know its the last time I look for help for this sort of thing.. so cheers 👍
Thank you very much for the video. I expect it to be the same for the G923, I'll try this weekend.
Great, please let us know if it’s similar and how it goes!
Do you like it so far
@@_strive Yes, I wasn't able to drill my desk because of the thickness but clamps are enough for me. I needed to strengthen the pedals way more than the wheel itself. Because braking requires a lot of strength. It was difficult to learn but now I enjoy sim racing a lot, I'm mostly racing in Assetto Corsa 1.
@@hakanviajando that’s nice bro mine comes today. I’ll try that racing game to see how it is😊
@@_strive have fun
Thanks for sharing this. I've been weary about how a wheel will work with my desk and this made me feel much more confident in making it work. (If I can just find someone to borrow me a drill that is.)
Thanks for this, helped me out :)
Thanks for you help... Just the info i needed!
Thanks so much my desk has a little ledge on it not so much a curve but a ledge that’s kinda small my g29 is coming tommrow and I didn’t know how to mount it thanks so much! 😁👍
Very nice thank you!!!
i don't know why they didn't put the gears shifter template either on their website..
So for the gears shifter , there is 2 holes
its 82mm between each holes
and 30mm from the border of the office
Great, thanks for sharing the measurements!
Wasn't was I was looking for (mine is G27) but with this video I was able to find out Logitech has these little templates and confirmed the M6x 1.0 will do the trick (just to confirm, off more than 1 source). Great video though! I have a stand and the pedals move yet..your not given any screws...kinda annoying but oh well.
Thanks. I almost cut my table's edge 😃
👍
i broke one of my clamps so this helped so so much thank you
Did u apply screw from outside ?
Merci beaucoup . Tanks a lot
Thanks for the instructive video, good work. One question I do have is around the drill bit size. On the template is say 08 MM next to the drill holes but then you show a 6mm drill bit. Shouldn't it be an 8mm drill bit? Maybe it doesn't matter as long as it is 6mm or larger.
Yes sir I initially tried the exact drill bit from the template but it was very tight and I could barely get the screws in. I think the template size would be fine for a permanent mount. But with me going to take the wheel off and on, I had to make it slightly larger for ease of use. So really depends on your needs. Good question though!
Can we use 8mm drill ?
What a life saver! Did you print this off on an A4 size of paper?
Not sure what A4 is, but I printed it on a standard 8.5 by 11 inch page that most all our paper comes as. Good luck!
How did you manage to take off the braces on the bottom of the wheel?
There is a part 2 video where I have links to the videos I watched. But basically you disassemble the wheel to get them off.
Using these methods is fits great way or stays losen ?
Completely tight and doesn’t move at all, you couldn’t move it if you tried
