As a drifter / SIM driver and Dad of a small boy I love what you are doing there with your Son and I am sure you both bonded massively through the process of building that together. Probably more than through the playing part.
Its for both. Have you see driving the son at the End? surely not his first time ;) I think its hard to differenciate the son from the dad. He is his hero and he want to be like him. Its just a totally awsome Project
Such "pseudo gifts" go in both direction. Last year I got my dad the Black Album on vinyl, with me being the only one in our house with a record player wired up ;-)
At first, the IPad for a speedometer in the dash was soo cool cuz it’s like the fueltech one, but then I saw you program the e36 speedometer with the key ignition!!! That’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen
Now this is a setup your boy has some skills on carX! Im still trying to learn to drift on my wheeel and im nearly 30 😂 you done amazing with this build!
You guys should somehow try to wire in those led strips above the seat to the headlight switch on the setup. That would be pretty cool and it would actually serve a purpose.
What an awesome project to do with your son! I really hope when my son gets a little older he wants to do a project like that with me! You sir have earned yourself a subscriber, please keep vlogging your progress, would love to follow this as you keep improving :)

Gustavs, your a lucky child. Not only do you share a passion with your father but he helps you learn in the process. A father building something like that with his son (Mine would NEVER have done that.) Good on you Dad. Also, you are great with tools and have knowledge of building. Teach your son that. Oh one ore thing Dad. Make sure Gustavs can't drive off in the real car (not that he would but, could save some headaches later in life LMAO) Honestly I can't wait to see what's next.
Man I wish there were more dads like you! If mine had been anything but a POS I wouldn't have had to endure a lot of crap, I needed advice only a strong dad could give! But I made it in spite of the POS! Keep being an inspiration to your son! #Scandinavianflick
The most important thing is to be a good role model for your children, and that’s my goal as well. I also grew up without a father, and I missed having one. But now, raising three sons, I focus on spending as much time with them as possible, sharing common interests.
would love to somehow setup a speedometer like that. Looked epic. Also really wanna get one of those ignition keys. your dad was really smart with this setup. Amazing job!
This looks amazing! I would love to see you guys use that navigation and make the screen work. It would require much custom work, but it'd be worth it. As well as adding functionality for the headlight switch. Overall amazing build!
Just to know, the total cost was 2481,76 euros. You did a very good job! Amazing how you created a bord to convert the RPM and speed from game to the real gauges. I would love to have that kind of skill.

I’ve been watching videos on sim racing rigs for the past couple months now. This is leaps & bounds over anything else I’ve seen & I’ve seen some really nice wooden rigs & metal built. From $50 to $100k+ dollar rigs. This one is the one I want to build. I decided on building really quick. I know I want stained wood outside and parts of it inside the stained wood too. However, after seeing your rig, I now want to build using a real dashboard and center counsel and maybe even the driver side interior door panel & seat. Want the styling of the realism using the real interior car parts & dark stained wood & LED lighting. Like a futuristic/plant&earthy/serenity/ergonomic/future-piece vibe&fun styling to it. Luckily I’ll have my father to help me along the way too. There’s a better word for the “earthy/serenity part but can’t think of it.
I don’t own a race-spec E46 myself, just a street version, but I keep it in the garage during the winter because, with our climate, cars tend to rust quickly. That’s where the idea for the e46sim at home came from-something to enjoy while my E46 takes a break. It’s great fun for my son and, of course, a little bit for me too! 😊
I love it! How much did it cost all together and I love what you did with the pedals putting them upside down like a real car, luckiest son ever to have a dad like you!🎉

Get him to start drifting in CarX on that setup with no assist and he'll be tearing up the streets by the time hes 12-15 in a real E46. I love the idea, and i love that for you two. When i grow up and become a dad *im 27 with no kids yet*, i wanna be just like you 🥹💯
This is amazing. This is basically what I want to do but mine would be a hybrid sim of racing and space. I would have the dash of mk4 Supra cause it already looks like a flying cockpit then and it's 1 of my favorite cars.
