Shoutout to Sim Racing Garage and amstudio for those videos - Навчання та стиль
I'm always struggling with those clamps getting loose while racing. This is just brilliant. Thanks.
Happy to help!
So glad I came across this video. Was gonna take a skill saw or something to my desk to remove part of the metal. But, given it's solid, wooden desk top, this would be way easier and less of a mess! You're a hero for uploading this, man.
awesome bro, happy to help
I got a second hand G29 with broken clamps. I'm going to do exactly this, awesome tip!
This worked real good for me. Your right I don't even have to use wing nuts. I also took the clamps out I think you don't need them. Thanks great idea. I was able to take the clamps out with out taking the wheel off. Thanks
I also have a bevel on the front of my desk. Thank you for the help.
Hell yeah man. I broke my clamp and was gonna buy new ones but this is way better
This is great, thanks for sharing! Can’t wait for Forza this weekend!
I just did something similar with my G923, this works very well compared to just the desk clamps that came with it
great couple of videos, thanks
Thank you
great idea! do you think instead of taking the wheel apart to get the bolts in from inside, could i just cut the top off a bolt and then screw it into the holes from the outside?
yes, that should work just fine and will probably be much easier than taking the wheel apart. i'm pretty sure they make them as well without the head so you don't have to cut anything. I think they're called "no head bolts" or set screws - something like that for M6 should do it. Good luck!
@@bigalsdronesbadcompany7331 studs. They’re called studs.
Buddy you are my hero lol....i have clamped my wheel down and even used a towel for grip and when i steer its soo unstable and the front end of base wants to do a wheelie when im doin somethin as simple as testing cars....thank you!!!👍
Did u use set crews to fit in steering wheel ? Which size u used
@@Jaingaming128 actually I ended up buying a stand so I could use it in front of the TV as well, so I can't help you with the size unfortunately
Do you think the same thing* is possible with the shifter?
I have an incredibly thick desk (7cm) and I am planning on buying the wheel and shifter, but I'm scared they won't fit my desk.
(With *thing* I mean putting the screws in the shifter so they stick out)
Good question, I never needed to mount my shifter. It stayed on much better for some reason. But I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. You might can search for a video to see if anyone has taken it apart. If it doesn’t look too complicated then you should be fine. Hope it works out whatever you decide!
I have a desk with nearly a 1 3/4" lip. Do the clamps open up wide enough to use clamps for mounting or would I have to drill and use bolts?
I think it will just fit. I don’t have my clips any more to measure, but check this video out:

@@bigalsdronesbadcompany7331 Thanks for the info and the link, I'll check it out.
Hesitant to disassemble. Gonna try living with the first solution for a while.
You’ll be just fine without implementing this part. It’s more of a time saver than anything but certainly not needed. Happy gaming!
So did those screws and bolts come in the box of the steering wheel? Or did you get them separate? If you did what size were they? Thank you!
No they were separate. I can’t remember what size but I have everything detailed exactly on part 1 of this video. This was part 2 which was an enhancement I did later
I couldn't play for a week because the steering wheel clamp was broken and you saved me. Thank you
could you please tell me what the size of the screw ?
Sorry can’t remember off hand but the part 1 video should have the exact size I used
M6 x 1 40mm he used. But! What you need to do is measure your desk length, and add 15mm
just curious how you removed the clamps from the wheel thanks for the video
Unfortunately you have to take the wheel apart. You can check one of the videos I linked in the description. It was the one I used for a walkthrough on disassembling. It’s not difficult, but it is a bit time consuming. GL!
Hey I took out all the screws then pulled out the clamps with taking it all apart. Just make enough opening on the side and lossen the clamp screws and they will drop out.
up
thank you for this, i have a similar table and i struggled to get it to work until i saw this. i am now struggling with my Shifter, can you help a brother out.
I didn’t mount my shifter since it never came loose from the default clamps, but I only drive big rigs that don’t need split second shifting like a race car game. So what kind of help you need?
@@bigalsdronesbadcompany7331 where can i get the shifter diagram similar to the wheel that can show me where drill/open up some hole?
@@GOMothibe i searched a good bit but can't find anyone that has a template/stencil for the shifter and it's nowhere on logitech's site for some reason. so if you want to mount the shifter, you'll have to make your own template which isn't hard. first thing to do is remove that center part as shown in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/UCxBck6Krso/v-deo.htmlsi=sTOVg9RuMkHdWsf-&t=78
Then just put a piece of paper over the bottom of the shifter and trace around the edge and then mark the drill holes. And that should be all it needs for your own template. Good luck!
Broke both clamps. preciate this g
could you also just use M6 threaded rod instead of taking it all apart?
Yes you definitely can and I would think it’d work just fine
How'd you remove the clamps?
you have to take the whole thing apart unfortunately
the screws you have in your steering wheel, how many mm do you need?
I can’t remember what size but I have everything detailed exactly on part 1 of this video. This was part 2 which was an enhancement I did later
U used screw without head ? Or u cut the head ?
I used screw with head. But you could probably use headless without taking it apart
What kind of screws did u use?
Can’t remember but everything is detailed out exactly in part 1 of this video
hello! im planning to mount g27 like this. big help. Question, how is it now?
Still going strong. Good luck!
@@bigalsdronesbadcompany7331 thats nice gonna make the same way to you. I hope i got same sturdiness
Where did u get those screws from or the size and stuff
I bought everything I used from Lowe’s but Home Depot or any related hardware store would have them. I think I recall they were M6 but the first part video has all the exact sizes and pictures
Do you know if a 1.7inch thick desk will work with clamps?
Yes sir that will work. The clamps have these detachable blocks on them so you can have extra room if you need. Plenty of space for 2 inches
Ok thank u
What size screws are you using?
I can’t remember what size but I have everything detailed exactly on part 1 of this video. This was part 2 which was an enhancement I did later
What size blot did u use my clamp is broken plz help
Bolt M6
Yes, thanks for assisting him!
Did you put the screws in from the top of the mount? If so, how?
Yes, you have to take it apart to access it. Links in description are the vids I followed to disassemble
Thanks. What length of screw did you use? I got M6 x 18 but they're not long enough.
How did u put screw inside steering wheel ?
Had to take it apart
Can we do add screw without taking it apart ?
will it void the warranty?
yup, as you disassemble the module, the warranty sticker that covers the screw has to be destroyed
All you are doing is taking the cover off and putting screws in. I don’t recall any warranty stickers but maybe I just didn’t notice them.
Alright buddy what’s the measurements from the screws to the edge of the desk would really help good vid dude😀
126mm from screws to edge. This is actually part 2, the first video has some more info including a link to a stencil with all the exact measurements. Hope that helps!
what size bolts?
I can’t remember but I have everything you’ll need listed in part 1
What do I do when my clamps don’t move😢
Not sure what you mean?
@@bigalsdronesbadcompany7331 they were stuck I fixed the tho you need to take apart the wheel
Where can I get clamps for the g27 I accidentally broke my friend’s one (got from eBay alr)
eBay have them!
@@kybercore1213 alr bought
Amazon has them
Those default clamps are horrible... Just for those reading before buying: It's really annoying that those screw heads are made of slippery plastic. It's hard to get a grip on, and you'll need a good grip to tighten the wheel to any wooden desk. It's terribly bad design. I use a small bit of leather just to grip those things properly and even then it takes a lot of finger strength. If you regularly move your wheel in and out of the way: consider a different wheel.
Good tip with the leather
