With all these OLED laptops coming out, I think the next thing we need to talk about is how each manufacturer warranty is going to deal with burn in.
Ahahaha, yeah
I think it's because now OEMs are confident about OLED.
They expect people to throw them away after a year.
They usually come with at least a 2 year display warranty. Which is likely when you’d see burn in if your usage warrants it. But there is software burn in protection built in for most OLED products.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH yeah, right 😆
It's a gorgeous little thing. Wish HP had adopted this design language for the Transcend 16 and the regular Omen 16. This one looks much more modern and sleek. It doesn't look like a miniature version of the Transcend 16 (like the Slim 5 14" and its 16" counterpart).
Indeed, the other omens are starting to look funny as big screen chins are being phased out
but I miss the minimal blue diamond logo
We’ve been stuck with IPS for too long, glad that more and more OLED laptops and monitors are coming out now.
Easily one of the prettier 14" gaming laptops. If only the speakers faced the correct direction and they could fit an ethernet port
If they have a 16” version then I’m pretty much sold
It seems they copied The ROG G series from 2020...
@@taggie_ looks more like the legion pro series
I don't think 14" laptops will ever have an ethernet port
@@MyronZhao many have in the past, just companies making gaming laptops refuse to include them for whatever reason. Not really a good reason for it other than the company's design teams deeming it unneeded and just opting not to include it to save money
Nice to see more HPs on th channel Jarrod, my last 3 laptops have all been HP Omens and I personally love them ;-) hope to see more HPs in the overall comparisons
Same. I bought an HP Omen 15 in 2020 because of his review. Love it.
@@KatRolloSir how has been your experience with it? Is it a good laptop?
Sir how has been your experience with it? Is it a good laptop?
Unfortunately, we have had issues getting HP in recent years. Hopefully, we will get more of them this year though.
@blissbeautypeace for me personally I find the spec very high for the price and as I use a HP for work everyday I originally picked HP as I'm familiar with them and have never had any issues. I had an MSI before I switched and didn't like it.
The best design gaming laptop from CES, this looks absolutely incredible.
This is almost my dream laptop. I’m just not a fan of the keyboard. But the laminated screen without plastic borders, thin but with a gpu and chargers via usb c is so great
Just wanna comment you always have bomb ass tshirts but this one is possibly the best one so far. Such a fantastic band and fantastic album.
Jarrod were you able to hear the speakers at all and if so how did they compare to the 2024 g14?
JARROD COMES THROUGH 👏
When will the full review come out?
Nice machine! Probably my next laptop and first HP after many many years 👍
The way Jarrod says "processor" is always unique!
Now THIS is a nice looking laptop!
Also the Asus Strix Scar 18’ looks very promising with improved thermals the new 18’ Mini LED Screen this year and possibly some more upgradability along with WiFi 7 would love you to review this later in the year.
Jarrod I'm actually most excited for Thunderbolt 5 and TB5 based eGPU testing. Razer Blade 2024 is the first laptop with TB5. Hoping for USB4v2 laptops soon.
Good job, HP!!!!! OMEN laptops are now back on my shopping list :P
Hey Jarrod, I'm planning to go with this but waiting for your full review mate. 🙏🙏🙏
So are we. 😅 We were promised this in February and still trying to get a hold of it.
Trying to decide between this, the zen book pro, or wait to see MSI claw. This would be my on the road gaming laptop always plugged in. Any thoughts?
Gorgeous design.
Expensive and appears to have one NVME slot with hyper expensive upgrade option for 2TB. Looking forward to full review
Just a small note, if you try and charge it using the side USB C port, it tells you to use the rear port.
Looks really nice
I'll wait for the benchmarks.
I think this is the laptop I'll be getting when I go to college this year! Perfect for me as it'll be quite compact and light to carry, but also powerful enough to comfortably run some basic games like valorant and good enough for CAD applications and 3D modelling software.
How much wattage is the gpu using when not charged and when charged?
@@killamain6405 not sure about not charged but in the video I believe he said 80W when plugged in
ME major? There really isn’t much if you want a 14” gaming laptop, but this looks pretty good. Still need to wait for reviews to get a verdict.
@@Polymath2B Yeah I'm going for ME or AE, depends on what I get. not looking for this to be my primary gaming device, I plan on getting a PC for that. I want to use this just for my college work and 3D modelling, I'm looking to develop game assets in my spare time, so I will be using 3D modelling software extensively. This should also be good enough for some light games like Valorant and Minecraft.
@@the-aviator Ah, this should be more than good enough. Doubt you’ll need a PC honestly if you get a laptop with at least a 4060. I’ve looked into remote accessing a pc from an iPad or another laptop so I wouldn’t have to buy 2 expensive computers. If you end up with a pc, I’d say look into that too if you want to save money. (Plus accessing a powerful pc through something like an iPad just seems fun.)
i ve used two hp 360 laptops both had non working keys does this have that also, but i never experienced that in an acer laptop which ive been using it for years
Looks stunning. I feel like I would be mostly curious about battery life, thermals, and speaker quality.
That’s insane, wonder how cool it runs, 4070 in it packs a punch!!! Gorgeous laptop
With so many laptops coming out of CES, I just hope they have improved in battery life
i purchased the omen 14 laptop and the hyperx cloud 3 wireless headset. These 2 are supposed to connect without the dongle only using the laptop's built in wireless transmitter. However, they wont connect without the dongle for the headset plugged in. Any ideas? Everything like firmware and software are up to date (unless it wasnt the update for that yet)
That slim look and design has me 🤤🤤🤤
Now, I want the comparison video between this one, the g14 and the blade 14 🍿
Wish it had a mini led screen option.
It's insanely clean and looks elegant. The next thing that we need to know will be the build quality and the cooling system. If both are also solid then this can be an insane contender for others 14 inch gaming laptop.
I love the design
Does it have a wobbly screen like other omen laptop series?
What will happen to the victus 15 this year? can you review it if possible?
This will still be premium priced ;) Curious how glossy screen will "perform" in actual usage, kind of keeping an eye on this one. Cuious if Gigabyte will refresh Aeros as well. All the smaller ones even if getting 32GB RAM this year still lack extra storage options.
How many m.2 slots? User upgradable ram?
looks great,
Maybe it's just the camera, but it looks like the letters on that keyboard are hard to read as a result of the fancy RGB caps. Were they better in person? Or maybe that's just the white color scheme not agreeing with bright buttons.
They definitely looked better in person. The RGB on the white laptop didn't show up as nicely on video.
what about it's speaker performance i don't see any mention regarding that ?
this is a really good one 🙂
legion slim 5 14" or trancend 14?
That looks extremely cute for a gaming laptop.
The over or under?-hang looks like a nice bit of design
is this the first 140w usbpd gaming laptop? been wanting something like this for years! tired of having to lug around a 2-3lb charging brick for even 14 in gaming laptops. Can't wait for reviews to see how it runs.
Mmmm. This one is really good. Amazing design and all. I personally need a 16” option though, hopefully with a few more ports, top facing speakers, and possibly a numpad, all of that paired with a good manufacturer software experience that’s gives as much control over the hardware as possible and HP would have me fully gripped no matter the price.
Will you be reviewing the Acer Predator Helios 18’ laptop later in the year not sure if they have a booth at ces but probably one of the best laptops of 2024 if improved thermals and upgradability with that upgraded 4090 GPU from the 4080 last year and excellent port selection. Also love the Magkey 3.0 package that comes with the Helios 18’ for Mechanical keyboard.
Hopefully, though Acer seem more interested in sending us the Helios Neo line up for some reason
think i finally found a worthy successor to my m1 mb air
Looking forward to your proper in-depth review
the back is aluminuim ?
can you do comparison vs zephyrus g14
I may like flashy laptops like the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro series more, but this will be the shit I'm getting now that HP finally decided to make a good laptop
did they refresh the hp omen 17 version?
I hope they replace their 16 inch omen with similar design with thin bezzles. I really want to see such a design in a 16 inch chassis
For me, this laptop or the cyborg 14 wins CES in the gaming laptop segment. Truly a dream laptop
While you mentioned it, i was pretty shocked that MSI made the 14 inch for the Cyborg lineup...usually they didn't make a 14 inch laptop in a mid range category 😂
Last gen cyborg was e waste , underpowered GPU and CPU with shared single fan . The laptop was stripped on quality to save some bucks from top to bottom .
I hope this gen is better.
are there 13 inch gaming laptops or 12?
Does anyone know if the ports connect directly to the discrete graphics card for VR?
How many speakers does it have?
is 7 ms of response time a problem in the screen ? it is on transcend 16, and can the human eye see the difference between 1 ms and 7 ms ?
Nice Omyep logo. ;)
It'll depend on its thermals and performance for me to choose this instead of the Asus G14! Wish it came with a 4080 option too, though. Those extra 4Gb would do a lot.
4070 is a nice border line for G14...i saw the comparation between the 2023 and 2024 model, and damn! 2024 is almost only half the 2023 model in terms of thickness...and i kind of agree with Asus decision, cuz no matter how powerful a 14 inch gaming laptop can be. A 14 inch are always main focused for portability, and i like how they chose to make a clear border line between the 16 and 14 inch model....very sad that we can't see another ROG Flow in CES
Its lower gpu tdp and battery
this or the new oled asus g14? which is better?
may main concern with these small factor laptops is going to be the gpu and the screen res.. can the 4050 handle 2/3k resolutions is what is going to be a concern imo. i can be wrong but a 4050 is not really made for 2k gaming and these new laptops (HP, mis, zephyrus) are packing a 2.8k or 3k screens with much higher refresh rate
I think the idea is for people to use DLSS upscaling coupled with frame gen to be able to run natively at over 100 fps. 2k or 3k even with DLSS performance will still look better than native 1080p and frame gen allows for a game that barely reaches 60 fps to run at over 100 fps. Obviously it's not as good as a native 3k at 120 fps without any trickery but that requires a lot more power, and at 2k 120 fps with DLSS and frame gen is still going to be a nice improvement over 1080p 60 fps.
How about the speakers, are they good ?
Gives me Alienware vibes, especially the 014 logo.
It looks great and pricing will be the biggest factor on wether this laptop will have a chance against the 2024 Asus G14. As cool as this laptop looks, the G14 is smaller, lighter, has more performance (4070 can go to 100W) and imo it looks more premium. Also AMD even with these new gen Intel chips is still supposedly the more efficient cpu... 2024 is becoming a great year for 14 inch gaming laptops
The diagonal Led strip looks so incredibly tacky though
One advantage of the HP is the USB Type C charging
G14 goes to a maximum of 90 watt tgp with dynamic boost, not 100
Agreed on the G14 being the one to beat.
I'd say the main pro of the Omen though is that it's USB C charging by default. I wonder how close we can get to full power on the G14 powering it with a USB C power supply - especially considering the G14 has a 180w included power brick.
Agreed, kind of a shame that they didnt put a usb c charger since usb c cleraly can power 180w
HP OMEN TRANSCEND 14 VS M3 MACBOOK PRO... WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY?
Damn, when they bring this technology to the OMEN 16 it might be the first real competitor to the Razer Blade!
What about OLED burn in though?
Dave2d is gonna love this thing
Plz fullll review nd unboxing Hands on video
I wanna remake the trailer as a game
side vent is important
Is it just me the font of the 14 really looks like the Alienware font.
The main thing that will keep this laptop from being competitive with the G14 is 6 hour battery life. Hopefully they can double that with optimization
Nice, fast cpu, fast gpu, low watt gpu, oled, low weight. Thats another contender. My omen 15 has been solid, hp are great
When will these be available and what is the price?
Start at 1500usd for rtx 4050 up to 2000 for the 4070, i9 and 32gb of ram. They start shipping late feb.
if I get this or another gaming laptop, i am planning to play games at low to mid settings lol
I mean I just see like 12 years olds dreams come true with this size but it sure looks slick.
I love seeing USB-C charging on gaming laptops
HP was quietly working on this new blockbuster.
Price will determine everything about this product. If it's priced well in Europe it might have a chance - it has to be cheaper than full TDP competition.
Still waiting DELL g15 2023 design at CES to came out to market
my hperx could 3 wireless wont connect without the dongle. App, headset, drivers and firmware fully updated, but the internal wireless transmitter just times out when trying the pairing mode without the dongle plugged in
At the time of making this video they mentioned it was only the headset that came in the bundle with the laptop. If that is what you have and it's still not working, then maybe bring it up with HP
Will hyperx wireless mice and earbuds also be able to pair without the dongle in the future update?
Not sure. I can ask though
@@JarrodsTech Thank you so much for always being a top quality reviewer!
Well, i think the proprietary charging connector that Asus bring to the new Asus Zephyrus G14 got the point rather that stick with this limited type C power delivery capabilities
For those that want more performance, I think if we give it another year we might see 4070 Ti's in these slim 14" laptops
The 5000 series gpus will be out next year
Hi Jarrod, don't you think a 2.8K display is too much for a rtx 4070 mobile? I mean, with that screen you're forced to play games at a very high native resolution - well above 1440p - and this puts a lot of stress into a rtx 4070 mobile which is comparable to a rtx 3060ti desktop in terms of performance. Alternatively you should lower your resolution from 2.8K to 2k or 1080p when playing games but accept a blurred subpar gaming experience. What do you think? Is that 2.8K display a big con for this gaming laptop?
damn you have a very interesting point...
if only they design the omen 16 like this one
He guys please help me
So i have two options, either a laptop with i5 12gen and 8gb rtx4060 or i7 12th gen rtx 3060 6gb . Which should I pick
Of course the 4060
Im buying it
Love the look, too bad it most likely won't be available in canada like the rest of the transcend line
Was Creaming at the seam until i saw that 80w 4070 😔
Waiting on the dell xps
Do we know the price of this beauty?
This machine are looks so nice, from the ces even, i think Zephyrus G14 and Omen Transcend 14 are the most good looking 14 inch gaming laptop so far 😂
G14 looks awful in comparison to be honest.
@@dainiusvysniauskas2049 yes, it really depends on which kind of approach you'd like more...for me, if you want a beautiful and super clean laptop, Omen 14 is way to go.....and for G14, it has a very unique approach in term of design, it's more aggresive (but less agresive than previous version) but still looks clean
Looking a lot more sleek and gorgeous compared to it's bigger Omen brethren. Let's hope it doesn't sacrifice in thermals
jared sounded sick while recording this
Nah. Might just be different mic and set up.
Hello. On 0:49 on spec your show GPU TGP 65W. But on next scene with spec your show GPU TGP 80W. Is it a mistake and who to believe?
80W technically includes dynamic boost, we won't know what it maxes with CPU+GPU load until we get it to review.
