I was born prematurely at 7 months in the early 1970s as a twin...was in an incubator for 6 weeks! Also, I was raised in the inner city and went to subpar public schools. I ended up graduating from Rutgers on the Dean's list; then went onto Seton Hall Law and graduated with 3.2 GPA. Subsequently, I passed both the NY and NJ bars (taken days apart) on the first try! The point I'm making is that, by all physical and environmental accounts, I should have been physically and mentally defective--but the Most High God saw different and supernaturally intervened in my life!🙏🏾🙇🏾♀️👼🏾
Since I know that I am pregnant my eating habits have changed so much. I dont even force this but I crave Vegetables and Water 95% of the day, I also love apples ( I usually dont do that) and unhealthy food doesn‘t taste the same to me as before. Its crazy how my body leads me to the right Nutrition and I absolutely love that! I think I will have a healthy baby :)
Yay! A majority of my cravings have been for various fruits, and greasy foods made me feel so nauseous in the first trimester. Grateful that my body has been helping me out a little bit :D
I'm 38. I started eating healthy and taking vitamins when I was 18 years old. I love to exercise. I sleep 7-8 hours. I don't worry about anything. My grandparents who are 87 and 91 years old (still alive and going strong) taught me to eat healthy foods when I was young.
I am currently pregnant. Just few weeks in. Thank God I found this video early. I will be making changes to my diet for my growing baby. My heart just got heavy knowing that everything I eat will be affecting him/her. Thanks again for this video. I look forward to more.
I think a lot of people are missing the point of this video. He is encouraging you to eat well. This isn’t to shame you, your parents, grandparents etc. OBVIOUSLY you should also be eating healthy before your pregnancy. The point is to explain how nutrients impact growth. This seems like common sense to be honest but it clearly needs said. This isn’t to attack, but to EDUCATE and encourage
As an African living in the US this video has been eye opening. This man spent $250 on a book and so much money to get educated about the same things my indigenous aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents and my village passed down to me as our culture, traditions and heritage. Its always funny when I hear in some Americans will refer to our indigenous ways of living as primitive while you have to spend a life time studying and buying all these expensive books just to come to the same conclusions and affirm our indigenous living ways. I feel so privileged to have a community that can pass down such wisdom to me, now I realize not everyone is as lucky as we are and its important to preserve those traditions.
@@amaznngrace Let me rephrase that then. The most important time to eat right is NOW. The faster you correct You bad eating habits the faster you will return to health/balance. You need proper nutrition to detox properly as well. Once you start avoiding heavy processed rubbish and push forward with clean died you will get more feedback on what serves you and what not. It might take some time so don't wait for tomorrow. Be your own best today. You are what you eat and your child will become either upgraded or downgraded version of both parents. Choice is Yours.Time is now.
I had 3 miscarriages in my mid to late 20's during the 1st trimesters. I was taking Folic Acid Supplements for al 3 pregnancies and al 3 embryos were tested afterwards for genetic abnormalities. Al 3 had some sort of chromosome abnormality. My gynea tested me for MTHFR mutation and I have the C1298C homozygous mutation. Immediately started taking Folate/active folate suplements instead of folic acid supplements and today I have a healthy 2 year old daughter and another healthy daughter on the way. Providing your body with the correct nutrients and vitamins definitely plays a big role in the health and development of you baby❤
@@VeenaMichelle no, once I got pregnant, I started taking prenatal supplements that also contained active folate and not folic acid. Chela Preg in my 1st pregnancy and Preggy Mama in my 2nd pregnancy (it was much cheaper than the Chela Preg)
So glad to hear you figured out the problem. That’s why I only take Seeking Health supplements. Owner of company, Dr. Ben Lynch also has an awesome book called Dirty Genes. I take his Active B12 with L-5-MTHF with folate supplement daily.
I had one miscarriage in 2015 and 2 miscarriages this past year for a total of 3 miscarriages. I lost them between 7 and 9 weeks along. Our loss in August 2023 and December 2023 we tested for chromosomal abnormalities and both had abnormalities. Baby girl that went to Heaven in August had Turner’s syndrome and trisomy 5. Baby girl that went to Heaven in December had trisomy 22. I’m pregnant again right now. The prenatal I take (full well wellness) has the active folate but I’m taking an iron supplement (blood builder) that has folic acid. I’m so thankful I ran across your comment and will stop that iron supplement until I’m not pregnant anymore. 4 weeks 1 day along, so I believe there is time to fix this before this baby develops a genetic abnormality!
Do not eat any peanut or tree nuts while you are pregnant or during breast feeding. The child will develop nuts allergies if you do. God bless. I had my first child at 37 and second one at 41. They are both healthy.
I’m 33. I started eating healthy from day dot. My mum didn’t allow us to eat processed food very often. I was the only kid at school that didn’t get cake or muesli bars or packaged yummy things in their lunchbox. I was always very jealous of what other kids had. The only treats/junk we got was an ice cream or chocolate once a week on a Friday after school. I’m 175cm tall and have been around 63kg (give or take a kg or two) since I stopped growing at 14 - and quickly returned to pre-pregnancy weight after I had both of my kids. I’ve never been overweight, in fact, I’ve always been quite lean and athletic, I don’t have any chronic health conditions and don’t take any medication. My siblings are the same. I’ve also got all 32 teeth and only ever 1 filling. I’m very grateful for my parents teaching me how to eat properly as I never had to unlearn bad habits. Now I’m teaching my kids how to eat properly and look after their bodies. My kids love fresh fruit and veggies. I never had a problem with picky eating as I gave them all the fruit and veg when they started eating as babies. Healthy eating starts in childhood. As a parent, I believe it’s one of the most important things you can teach your children. Love your videos Dr.Berg!
Learned about healthy eating in my thirties. I am 52 now. I have been through two bouts with cancer. I was 18 the first time and unfortunately went through major chemo. Almost killed me, kidneys shut down. The second time, 49 with lymphoma, I cured myself through diet. I am learning a ton more from your videos. Thank you!!
My parents came here from Italy before I was born. They were growing organic food there and they continued to do so when they came to the US. We ate organic food before it was the cool thing to do. I continued this tradition with my kids and now they are growing their own organic food and buying organic food to supplement. I taught them that what they put in their body is the most important thing they can do to maintain their health.
So, the last one, you need to be corrected. Soy isn't good, but FERMENTED SOY is different. That's why things like natto are extremely healthy for regular people to eat, but especially pregnant women. Fermented soy products are not the same as regular soy products.
I started eating healthy at the age of 34, I’m 37 now. I was so sick. I truly believe I wouldnt even be here if God didn’t help me.. I can’t even believe how much clean food saved my life… I’m a strong believer in Jesus Christ, all the wisdom came from him I had no one else teaching me. Don’t ever underestimate the healing power of vegetables, herbs, fruit and fasting! 🙏
Especially the healing power of the Lord. Many don’t understand the benefits of a relationship with the Lord are. They don’t know Him so they cannot see.
I am very thankful for your life. I just found out I’m pregnant (14 weeks) and I need help big time. Ive been feeling really sick. Thank you for making these videos.
My mom fed us healthy. I ate healthy until I started working full time at age 31. I started eating a lot of restaurant food and prepackaged food. I gained 100 pounds in 2 years. I am now 50 and trying to undo all the bad I’ve done to my body. I very much appreciate your videos. My mom fed us “heathy keto” before healthy keto was a thing. I hate cooking but I feel so much better when I eat right.
Me and my sibling didnt get any supplements, nutritional meals, in fact mum was stressed and in a relationship with argument and occasional violance. We turned out pretty fine, could have been better i guess, but 2 of us are msc graduate, 1 bsc graduate, 1 is a mechanic, one is a computer network engineer, the other is in construction. Both parents couldn't speak English, from the village back home. My bro is going to do a PHD, unfortunately im done with studying i have a toddler. I do wonder if we went nursery, had all the nuturient etc maybe we could have been doc, lawyers, dentist. End of the day, its life, im glad we're healthy and not disabled physically due to lack of folic acid and other nutrients thank God for this.
I was 49 years old when I even learned what the macro nutrients were. Understanding nutrition. I’m 53 now and feel the best I’ve ever felt. When someone asks me who my doctor is, I simply say, “Dr. Berg”.
I am 59 and started learning about healthy keto 5 months ago. Reversed prediabetes and lost 50 lbs, 10 to go…reading and watching everything i can on the subject! Thanks to the info providers!!
My boyfriend introduced me to a healthy diet (and hatha yoga) at age 25. His siblings are naturopathic doctors and taught him about natural health. He never judged my cooking, just had a sort of 'learn by example' attitude. Every time I was at his house, it was like being on a retreat. The food was just so yummy and my body felt great! Slowly, I started buying more organic groceries and learned how to cook properly. It's amazing what a difference a nutritious diet makes to your life! I've never felt more in control of my own body and energetic than now (age 27). We're getting married next year, and I can't wait to raise kids with him living the health lifestyle he introduced me to. 🥰
Dr. Berg your amazing! I wish you had posted this while I was pregnant last year. Know that pregnant women everywhere want a playlist on everything pregnancy you know about.
Yes. If you search his name and “pregnancy”, for example, you will find most of his work on this. Possibly some of his videos are easier to find on his website or by asking his staff.
Thank you thank you thank you! I was 28 years old when I started taking my health seriously, I remember eating bowls of spinach. It DRAMATICALLY changed my life... the pain I had in my joints went away. My cycle evened out and became less painful; and my emotions evened out. I was able to think more clearly! And life in general got better
When I came back to India from US , I caught a lot of health problems because of diet. I was already 31. I joined a diet program , it opened my eyes and made me understand what is right for my body.
@@donnaml8776 I'm not sure which video is that. Amount of sugar , oil and gluten in diet depends on what region in india one belongs to and on the household as well.
@@mansip0813 it was maybe a month ago on a Friday live video, just a comment by Dr Berg and also the caller from India said it too. I don’t know and it’s wasn’t meant to say that everyone ate like that. They were just saying that he, Dr Berg loves Indian (from India) food, but that he cant eat it because there’s a lot of sugar used in Indian cooking.
I have MTHFR. Inherited from my mother. From what I can gather, it cause an inability to absorb folate? Is also is behind certain problems in the babies. My brother has ADD since early childhood, sister has a heart defect, and all of us suffer with terrible anxiety issues. Thank you for this video Dr. Berg! I love learning more about as I've been unable to find much on this subject 💗💗💗👍 Edit: I eat lots of nutritional yeast on pretty much everything thanks to your teaching!
He made a few great videos to help with anxiety. My favorite are the ones about the correct amount of potassium needed. I found much relief from using his formula.
I just had my baby 6 weeks ago and I don’t think I want to use formula anymore. I had no idea it was so bad! Definitely going to pull out my breast pump immediately 😮
You can’t imagine how incredibly difficult correct eating is, when debilitated with severe morning sickness. I used to say ‘any food kept down is a good start, and if it is healthy, it’s a bonus’. Said by one who typically eats very healthy food. Absolutely nothing helped the morning sickness, and especially nutrient-dense food was difficult to both prepare and keep down.
I know this feeling and experience all too well, trust me. Please don’t suffer without medical support and treatment. Try to explain your intense morning sickness to your OBGYN, which kinda sounds like Hyperemesis gravidarum(just an assumption). Help may be available but definitely go in to get IVs for hydration, if needed. It’s so tough but seek help. Don’t let yourself deteriorate, take care.
For all the shortcomings of "Big Tech" algorithms, I'll forgive them because they introduced me to your channel! I'm nearly 27, been eating healthy for three years now. I've implemented a lot of your advice in my lifestyle, and ostensibly I'm healthier, stronger, livelier and not aging as fast as my peers. Eric, you are doing the Lord's work, I thank you!
Age 22, 2021. and I was finally diagnosed with pcos after my body was destroyed by depo provera and chronic dieting. I found your UA-cam page that August and lost 60 pounds by the following April! Although I made a few mistakes since then, I have learned alot from them and how to avoid doing them again. Now, my husband and I are expecting and I feel more prepared than ever! Still learning though of course.
This is absolutely congruent with my experience. I have a face defect, I have had Zinc and copper and many more deficiencies since birth, sever eczema my whole life. I already knew it was from when my mother was pregnant with me, I have just been lived with it mostly. Supplements never worked, and junk food never made me fat because I barely absorb anything. it's amazing how many vides you have that construe me perfectly. I'm trying carnivore at age 31.
This is basically the same wisdom you can find in Weston A. Price’s book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration but without the $250 price-tag. He also explains how to cure dental diseases through diet, as well as ensuring children have perfect face formations, full-stature, zero physical abnormalities, behavioural normality, etc etc.
Had a new cavity most visits to the dentist for many years. I now eat low carb and have almost completely cut out the processed sugar, no more cavities when I visit. I also failed to mention i am terrible about brushing regularly and don't floss much. Dentist mentioned how it stopped and asked if I had changed my diet, told them I have been doing keto and intermittent fasting.
@@hwnboy925 I’m sure it mentions something to do with iodine and intelligence although that could just be me. It does very thoroughly elaborate on the importance of mineral-rich soil & the importance of eating animals which have had a nutrient-dense diet, green-grass instead of colourless hay, etc. It talks about the importance of regenerative agriculture but only from a level of understanding we had reached in the 1930s when the book was first published. I only purchased the £10 version initially however the extended versions ranging between £25-£35 with an extra 200+ pages are on my to-buy list as I realised I wanted to re-read the first one sometime in the future, however an extended version would add immensely to the already-priceless value of the initial works so that’s what I’ll be buying in the near future :)
I agree with you about the work of Weston A. Price , thanks to this book i could save many dental problems , constant visits to the dentist office, antibiotics and even loss of some dental pieces. Also , this author emphasize the importance of nutrition in pregnancy not only for the woman but also for the man at least six months previous to the conception of a new baby.
I started at 30, I’m now 36. In the past years, I focused much more on macronutrients. Since I’m pregnant and I’ve started to learn more about micronutrients. Thanks for this video.
I was malnourished as a child and teenager (neglect). Once I got myself into an elite college with a great dining program, I started eating enough for my body but not healthfully. I only knew about "organic" and non gmo. Nothing about vitamins, toxins etc. I found out about my issue with gluten in college when I actually had it to eat and slowly from there my knowledge has grown. I'd say now at 26 is the healthiest and most knowledgable I have ever been but I started really caring about it in college at about 19 years old. I'm pregnant with baby #3; so this is very helpful!
I have a daughter with Rett Syndrome and I beat myself up about what I did or didn’t do or did or didn’t eat that caused this. I’m a fairly crunchy mama now and do things a lot different than I did back then. I love this video but I’m not going to lie, it was hard to watch. I love how your put it though. This matters, mamas. She is our third and we are now expecting our eighth. I wish I could go back and change things. Not knowing kills me everyday. Keep posting this information and ways we can all heal. I love to see it!
You did your best with the knowledge you had at the time, there are many factors which would have contributed Please don’t blame yourself, you learnt and made changes, that’s amazing!!! I know how you feel, stay strong, stay blessed xxx
😢 my birth mom had gave birth to my sister developing retreat syndrome at 3 ... and I wonder what her lifestyle was during pregnancy, she says she can't remember 28 years ago
I fear a lot of mothers who see this video are going to be blaming themselves for various ailments of their children. Don’t dwell on the past, ladies. Feed your children the best you can now.
I understand your point of view but at the same time women need to understand the importance of their womb. This video wasn't made to make women who've already had children feel bad about themselves, we all have made mistakes.
Excellent video doc I wish that more pregnant women would take this infomation more seriously because health problems in children have risen dramatically in recent years, its absolutely foolish and selfish for people to continue a bad lifestyle that could cause their child's wellbeing and quality of life to be at risk. I've heard that adding Himalayan salt and sodium bicarbonate into soil can help remineralise and alkalinise the soil. You can mix it into distilled water and water the soil with that, that way you can be sure that you're not adding acidity back into the soil through bad water. I didn't start trying to eat healthy until about 17. But it took me a good few years to realize what eating healthy meant for me.
I think that the awareness of what you are putting into your body is very valuable. Of course I, personally ,cannot always afford or find the best food out there, but being aware and determined to cut on sugars, carbs and alcohol is still an effort that hopefully can contribute to my overall wellbeing.
Thank you for sharing such invaluable information. I started eating healthy around 30, it changed my life. I was a 500-pound woman and have lost over 150 pounds. Nutrition and hydration were key components.
@@davidbea3711 No. Keep em' around for the free annual labs and any imaging you might need. You also need them for emergency care & antibiotics/antivirals. Otherwise, yes. Always use a functional medicine doctor or a licensed naturopathic physician.
Modern medicine definitely has many merits, and we shouldn't go to extremes. We should be considered practitioners of pharmaceuticals. So many family members ask me about dietary advice and are surprised when I tell them I don't know. The other problem is that people are willing to think everything in modern medicine is evil and on the other hand anything 'natural' is true.
I would love to see a video on how to amend our soil in order to grow more nutritious food so I’m excited to hear about you creating another channel that might address that.
Wonderful advice! I'm 21 weeks pregnant atm and made my doctor very nervous initially when i said i wasn't taking any prenatals and had no interest in folic acid supplements.. As a biochemist (mineral therapist) my priorities where on the minerals you mentioned to produce the vitamins i needed. And for folic acid, well i prefer natures version - folate! The one we evolved to uptake and utilise. So i was getting all my folate from growing pea microgreens and getting this dietarily. The blood results showed perfect levels, nice high folate and solid iron levels - nothing to worry about I Followed none of the mainstream advice on pregnancy nutrition (and like you mentioned, most doctors have a massive blind-spot for nutrition!) Focused on lots of grass fed meat and fats, heaps of microgreens and supplemented only with biochemic minerals / biochemic trace elements. Bub is kicking away strong right now, and all tests are showing perfect levels and development so far 🙂
Two years ago after I found out your UA-cam channel I started eating healthy.... At age 33 🤦♂️🤦♂️. But I didn’t eat junk food I always cook my food at home fresh.... even though I started late for myself. My kids eats healthy since I’m watching your videos ( organic, grass feed meat,,.. cod liver oil.. no sugar, low carbohydrates.. etc) and I’m following all your recipe to cook healthy for my kids I have two beautiful healthy children.. and now eating healthy for my 3rd child pregnancy journey.. Thank you so very much dr Berg!!
I started eating healthy about a year ago at 22. Growing up my parents had an absolutely horrendous diet. As a kid I was really sick all the time and doctors couldn’t figure out why. In my 20s keto/paleo diet, fasting, and exercise made me feel the best I’ve ever felt. I can’t wait for the new channel. I’ve been really interested in designer soils and how different micro cultures can have different effects. I think it’s better to have cultures in the soil that can naturally produce minerals than to add it in other ways. I would love to study the bacteria and fungi present in andisoI soil. I farm gourmet mushrooms like lions mane and reishi.
Honestly...age 42. So sad how little I understood about the sugar crash rollercoaster. No wonder I ended up pre-diabetic with IR and RA...and asthma...etc. Thank you for all the education. xx
I started eating healthy at 12 years old due to some hormone issues. Been eating mostly healthy ever since! Now I’m 34 and pregnant with our 4th healthy baby. All exclusively breastfed 🎉
I've started to eat healthy this year. I am 27 years old. I order organic, certified veggies which are absolutely amazing and grass fed meat which I'm not even gonna compare to this crap from supermarkets. And it's actually not that expensive when you consider not eating so much sweets and fast foods. I am really fascinated about the results after just a few months of eating healthier. Whish you all the same results and persistence in the changes you make!!
I was doing great while still at home where I was raised on natural foods like wild game, farm raised meat and garden veggies. From age 19 to 36 it all went to hell, got better until I found Keto at age 51 and life is great now, I’m 55. I’m so happy my daughter did it right before during and after pregnancy. My grandson is extremely healthy and very smart. Thanks Doc!
I was 25 years old when Jesus healed me from illness and showed me what a healthfood store was . I read the books in the healthfood store and bought them and Started taking lots of vitamins. My full time job was too consuming to prepare meals all the time .
Jesus healed me too!! Completely healed my mom's crushed back disc instantly too. She couldn't sit down for 8-9 months and instantly got healed in a church, never had pain since and it's been 7 years now
Joel Salatin talks a lot about what he calls the Salad Bar Beef. He talks about the benefits of rotating the livestock onto different pastures every day and even better twice a day. He teaches about how to farm correctly not traditionally.
Precisely. Anyone can talk the talk, but it’s hard to get your bioavailable DHA / Omega 3 + Iodine intake when you throw up the salmon right after holding your nose to force down bites.
This would be the exception. I have Hyperemesis, and for most of my pregnancy, I could only eat what my body could tolerate. You can only do what you can do.
@@TranquilityWithinMe he understands that a woman’s diet is very important for the health of her baby. That doesn’t change just because she throws it all up. That baby still needs nutrients.
I have been studying vitamins and nutrition since 2000. My mother was diagnosed with MS that year, and it led to finding out why. I then began researching and finding that vitamin defecencys can cause an array of illnesses. I began taking nutrition and food on a whole other level. The wabbit hole is long and deep and always learning. I was 32 when I started this path.
@@pccchurch Interesting new research on MS ..... appears it gestates in the body over a period of 20 odd years from the virus known as EpsteinBarr ( kissing disease /glandular fever virus ). Most diseases don’t manifest immediately ..... we will only know the full damage of the CVid virus in ab 10-20yrs time ( like Alzh, Parks etc etc etc ) . There r no magic bullets that only diet alone will cure ..... most other infectious diseases ( smallpox, tb, polio, measles etc etc etc were helped by jabs ) . Interesting to see now the rise in shingles appearing in the elderly who contracted the chickpox before the vax . Life would be lovely in your Pollyanna world, but meh .......

Dr Berg, thank you for all you share! Can you please do a video of what we can do after our children are born and these unhealthy habits or things were done unintentionally during pregnancy. What is the best diet and supplements to help rebuild our children’s health? Thank you so much in advance. It is so tough to find a path to follow and see the results we are trying to achieve.
Yes. He made videos on children nutrition. Also on how to change unhealthy habits to healthy habits, ect. It is hard to find a subject he didn’t make a video on ☺️ If you search his name and the subject of your question, you will find a video or videos he made to answer this.

Hello Dr. Berg! I am very familiar with the information you presented. I'm 36 and just had my second child in 4 years. I started eating healthy in my early 20s but discovered my journey to REAL health at 28. I was sure to eat healthy, take supplements and do several detox and cleanses before both pregnancies. During both pregnancies, I was very conscious to eat and supplement healthy fats, I took 100mg a day of Europharma Tri-iodine, Progurt Deep Sea Salt Caps, Progurt Probiotics, Ion Biome Gut Health, 1000mg of methylfolate, and Emerald Labs Prenatal vitamin, magnesium glycinate, etc etc etc. My 4 year old eats very healthy and my infant is breastfed. Both have nice wide palates for their teeth and no malformations. This information you are sharing is so so so vital for all women and men to start before pregnancy! Men, this info is also crucial for you to have healthy sperm! great job!!!
To my new understanding, one needs way more than 100mg of iodine. Japanese use a huge amount of it and don’t have the same issues we have related to iodine. One can do different types tests to see if one is deficient. I have started to experiment with higher doses of it now, based on this new data.
@@experimenthealthyketo83 Stomach cancer has always been a huge killer in Japan. Be careful not to cherry pick only what suits your narrative . Moderation in all things ...... no crap, No processed . Lord help those kids if they develop any problems later on cos Mumma bear won’t want to accept that responsibility then .
@@equatorialjourney4478 I know that Japanese have a lot less breast cancer, cretinism, birth malformation, etc. And researchers have linked these with the huge difference with their intake of iodine compared to results in the US population. So “moderation” for them has a complete different meaning.
Tremendously valuable information! Just what I needed @4 am - popped up notification when I couldn't sleep... Knowledge soothes the mind, gives the soul comfort, and calms raggedy disruptions of emotions. Best sleep aid ever. What the good doctor ordered. Bless you, sir!
I was 19 when I quit 2 fast food jobs (where I ate all that fast food & sodas all the time), plus TV dinners, etc. Then, to finally reading my first health book at 20, then getting chickens (eating their eggs) & starting our first greenhouse & garden & starting our health journey. Started P-90-X at 21 & found Weston A. Price's information too. At that point I was obsessed with nutrition! I was 29 when I started keto & found Dr. Berg shortly after that in the same year. Dr. Berg resonates with everything I've ever found on my own & has an amazing amount more wonderful information! Dr. Berg ...and Karen, are the best! 🙏💝 I'm now living on my own land, fully off grid (on a well & home done solar system) with my wonderful husband and 2 children (8 & almost 4), all healthy keto, we planted a "food forest", & have chickens & multiple greenhouses! I’m 27 and this will be my first attempt at eating well as a long term commitment. I original did this when I was pregnant 3 years ago. I honestly believe this benefited my daughter a lot. I was blessed enough to be able to breastfeed her for over a year. Unfortunately, I wasn’t eating healthy in that time. So I let her down, in that respect. Thank you Doctor for sharing this information. I’m hoping not to make the same mistake the second time around. My god bless you and your family for your hard work and sharing this information in a free and easily accessible way. 🌸🌸🌸🌺 P.S I’m very interested to hear about your findings in regards to soil and it’s link to the nutritional value of food. I’ve been wondering about this for a while.
This is why I researched while Iwas pregnant, what to eat and not eat, and at what point certain vitamins are needed to help growth in different areas (eyes, limbs etc). I was all over it lol. Thank God!
I am 78 years old now. I read all the books that a nutritionist from UCLA, Adele Davis wrote back in 1966 including “Let’s Have Healthy Children”, “Let’s Eat Right to Keep Fit”, and her cookbooks. She really impressed me so I began my dietary changes by drinking Pep-Up, her concoction that contained brewer’s yeast, whole raw milk, powdered milk, all-blend oil, magnesium oxide, granular lecithin, 2 raw eggs, and frozen orange juice concentrate. It took a while to get up to her 1/2 cup of brewer’s yeast but eventually I drank this every day and so did my husband. It made a definite change in our health and started us on the path to healthy eating, real food instead of junk food. I am sure it is why we are both very healthy today. You bring up many of the topics she mentioned and have the added benefit of the ability of Science today to actually know why the things she recommended work. Thank you for your work and your videos. You reinforce everything I learned from her so many years ago.
Wow, thanks for all these details! I couldn’t get myself to study what she wrote so I am very happy to read your comment. I always wondered how much brewer’s yeast to eat.
True Wisdom...you can't control your genes but you can control what you eat...you are what you eat..in pregnancy this becomes your main responsibility too
I started eating healthy and clean at 27 (3 years ago) after having my daughter, who have lots of food allergies & eczema. I truly think it was by me eating a trash diet. I’m so blessed I found my way to a healthy lifestyle & do better
I was eating tons of folate-rich food, guzzling green tea w lemon (helped morning sickness.) Shocked when labs came back slightly low folate- the green tea leeched it out!!
When i was pregnant, I could barely afford food. I went to the place that gives you a card to buy food. I got $16 a month. I said that I can only afford the cancer causing ramen noodles, so do i just take my vitamins & hope for the best?? They told me "pretty much." But vitamins made me throw up during each of my pregnancies for about the first 6 months... I went hungry quite a bit. But the proper food would have helped in this situation! I am thankful that my children are, for the most part, healthy!

I was born and raised in Asia. Also currently pregnant. But when I was little I would ask for a tomato to eat as a snack. Lol our diet consisted of mostly seafood and veggies. With some rice 🍚 (I know rice isn’t all that great) but hey, I’m Asian! Lol
My 2nd baby has crooked teeth and I was nutritionaly deficient with out of control blood sugars during my pregnancy. I started keto after my second baby and with my third pregnancy my blood sugars were well controlled and now my third baby has naturally straight teeth.
Im a twin. My sister has straight teeth and I have many malformations. My jaw structure is to small for the teeth in my mouth. They have no room to spread out.
I started learning about healthy eating from 25 after being diagnosed with PCOS and being told there was no cure. I started looking online for other options. It’s been a long journey as I’m now 31, but I understand so much more about what my body needs and that the things I learned in nutrition classes in college are all absolute lies.
I started eating healthy when I was 25 years old. I was overweight, and my thoughts were all clouded. I couldn't think properly or feel normal. Then I started eating healthy foods. I choose basic ingredients and choose fiber-rich foods. I became fit and felt amazing. That was the first time in my life I felt amazing. I wanted to keep that feeling so I tried to continue that. Now I am 29 and pregnant with my 2nd child. First pregnancy was amazing, but I had no breast milk at all, so this time I want to supply myself with all the healthy foods. Thank you so much for putting out all this helpful information.
I am in the early stages of pregnancy for 3 weeks now I have had constant pain and nausea. I usually eat very well and I am a fan of Dr Eric. Since the nausea I cannot eat healthy and are eating beige foods only. It is do hard to switch the brain, especially when pregnant. Healthy foods are making me feel sick and I can't stand up and cook anymore. I feel like I've been hit by a bus.
Congratulations. I haven't had many cravings, except for sauerkraut, yoghurt and oranges. Since following the Weston A Price pregnancy diet from 2 weeks of conception, so consuming a lot of Vit A from eggs, fermented cod liver oil and liver pate. Was taught at school to give a pregnant lady liver, and when I saw they had opposed this, I looked into it, found Weston A Price info and the research that demonised vit A is based on supplemented vit A, and not from foods. I have had very few cravings for junk food, although am loving cheese at the moment so perhaps loving pizza too, but overall I have no cravings for sweet things, but still eat the occasional chocolate bar. No morning sickness either. I think it's the high saturated fat diet I am having. It completely satisfies the body. Best wishes for you and baby.
Hi Dr. Berg- Thank you for this video. I basically started overhauling my diet at age 60. I am 63 years old now. I was never told how to eat properly and when what I now believe were insulin resistance symptoms starting affecting me, I started researching on my own. Just in the last couple months it finally lead me to your channel and I am doing keto and intermittent fasting. What you say makes SO much sense. Trying to pass on the info to others I know young and old(er) like me.
I have been breastfeeding for 10.5 months now and love it and my daughter is thriving. Since I found out I was pregnant I have taken pregnancy vitamins and even when breastfeeding also take vitamins. My girl is growing well and is super healthy. Wouldn't give her formula unless i was desperate.
Ate well as a child and during pregnancy but when times were tough, more white substances were added to the diet. I ended up paying for it later. Read and followed Atkins and felt so much better. I have learned i cannot 'tweak' this as i begin to get sick again.
This video has one of the most interesting topics that I have ever heard in regards to nutrition! It is so interesting how everything start since pregnancy and the importance of all of the micronutrients not just folic acid! Hopefully we hear more about pregnancy and nutrition for kids, it would be amazing to learn this from you! I can’t imagine my life without this channel and Dr Eric Berg, the amount of things that I have learnt and proved to be truth is huge, in addition to all the improvements that I have seen in my health! Thank you!
Hi Dr. Berg! Thank you for this information! It’s so important for pregnant women to eat a healthy-balanced diet. I see some pregnant women eating junk food and wonder how much this is going to affect their baby long-term. Gladly for me, my daughter is very healthy and I think a lot of this has to do with my healthy lifestyle when I was pregnant.
Perfect timing for this information as my daughter is pregnant with her first baby! I always share your videos with her and she enjoys them as much as I do.

NO. VERY WRONG. The right time to eat healthy is long before you get pregnant, very LONG. I love you, Dr. BERG. BUT WTF???!!!!

I got pregnant in nigeria, and my babies father is nigerian, but we are gunna have to mix culture. Most of this is even just common sense though
From India...i second ur thought
Primitive doesn’t mean unintelligent? Africa is very much primitive in context to America
The MOST IMPORTANT Time to Eat Right Is at least year before pregnancy. It does apply to both parents.
You are right
Amazing. Thank you 👍
Not everyone plans pregnancy so what so you so then
@@amaznngrace Let me rephrase that then.
Just wondering if you took folate supplement in addition to your prenatal supplement?
@@VeenaMichelle no, once I got pregnant, I started taking prenatal supplements that also contained active folate and not folic acid. Chela Preg in my 1st pregnancy and Preggy Mama in my 2nd pregnancy (it was much cheaper than the Chela Preg)
So glad to hear you figured out the problem. That’s why I only take Seeking Health supplements. Owner of company, Dr. Ben Lynch also has an awesome book called Dirty Genes. I take his Active B12 with L-5-MTHF with folate supplement daily.
SO IMPORTANT! I also have the MTHFR gene mutation and I can't believe folic acid is even recommended for anyone. It should always be methyl-folate.

That was extremely not letting you eat once in a while junk food. 😢

Bet it doesn't tell you consuming iodized salt while pregnant will increase the offsprings intelligence.

I've heard that adding Himalayan salt and sodium bicarbonate into soil can help remineralise and alkalinise the soil. You can mix it into distilled water and water the soil with that, that way you can be sure that you're not adding acidity back into the soil through bad water.

Of course I, personally ,cannot always afford or find the best food out there, but being aware and determined to cut on sugars, carbs and alcohol is still an effort that hopefully can contribute to my overall wellbeing.
Same here but I try cutting these unhealthy foods
It's almost impossible to get healthy every time but with knowledge about good food we can get most of the time.
Dr Schulze superfood is a really good food supplement
Thank you for sharing such invaluable information. I started eating healthy around 30, it changed my life. I was a 500-pound woman and have lost over 150 pounds. Nutrition and hydration were key components.
I started eating from your advice in my 30s . Really can't thank you enough x
As a doctor, we learn about genetic and environmental causes of diseases. Apart from smoking and alcohol, we tend to ignore the 9 months in the womb.
And those are the most important for development! LOL
And you also ignore diet.

Thank you Dr. Berg! I'm 7 months pregnant now and 38yo.
The blood results showed perfect levels, nice high folate and solid iron levels - nothing to worry about
I Followed none of the mainstream advice on pregnancy nutrition (and like you mentioned, most doctors have a massive blind-spot for nutrition!)
Focused on lots of grass fed meat and fats, heaps of microgreens and supplemented only with biochemic minerals / biochemic trace elements.
Bub is kicking away strong right now, and all tests are showing perfect levels and development so far 🙂
How are you and your baby? ❤
Two years ago after I found out your UA-cam channel I started eating healthy.... At age 33 🤦♂️🤦♂️. But I didn’t eat junk food I always cook my food at home fresh.... even though I started late for myself. My kids eats healthy since I’m watching your videos ( organic, grass feed meat,,.. cod liver oil.. no sugar, low carbohydrates.. etc) and I’m following all your recipe to cook healthy for my kids
I have two beautiful healthy children.. and now eating healthy for my 3rd child pregnancy journey..
Yes please! I would love to hear more on cultivating wholesome nutritious food! I have a small yard and have been growing some of my own food!
Hello. Good for you. Whom do you order your vegetables from?
I was doing great while still at home where I was raised on natural foods like wild game, farm raised meat and garden veggies. From age 19 to 36 it all went to hell, got better until I found Keto at age 51 and life is great now, I’m 55. I’m so happy my daughter did it right before during and after pregnancy. My grandson is extremely healthy and very smart. Thanks Doc!
👏👏
So did your daughter do keto diet before during and after pregnancy?! Because I’m trying to do the same
Starting eating healthier at age 23 after being diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Love watching your videos. Thanks
I was 25 years old when Jesus healed me from illness and showed me what a healthfood store was .
I read the books in the healthfood store and bought them and
Started taking lots of vitamins.
My full time job was too consuming to prepare meals all the time .
God bless 🙏🙏🙏
Jesus healed you? Did the Devil make you sick? 🤦♂️
I agree with you. Many won’t understand, because they don’t know or understand a relationship with Jesus. Don’t give up!
Thank you JESUS for healing!!!!!
Jesus healed me too!! Completely healed my mom's crushed back disc instantly too. She couldn't sit down for 8-9 months and instantly got healed in a church, never had pain since and it's been 7 years now
33 yrs old is when I started eating healthy, thanks to you doc!! 🙏
Joel Salatin talks a lot about what he calls the Salad Bar Beef. He talks about the benefits of rotating the livestock onto different pastures every day and even better twice a day. He teaches about how to farm correctly not traditionally.
its so hard for those struggling with nausea and vomiting and food aversions during pregnancy to eat a healthy and well balanced diet ):
Precisely. Anyone can talk the talk, but it’s hard to get your bioavailable DHA / Omega 3 + Iodine intake when you throw up the salmon right after holding your nose to force down bites.
That's why a man is discussing it .... He doesn't understand women.
Right!!! And it's my case can't eat anything apart apple and orange 😢😢😢
Neuro disorders are usually autoimmune disorder from elephant in the room "shots"
Right now, exercise and eating healthy.

Hi Stephany, I have also psoriasis and planning to get pregnant... What kind of vitamins did you take? I want the best for my future child
How is your pregnancy going so far? Wish you all the best!
I started truly eating healthy at about 40 years old. I grew up on a healthy diet, and went somewhat off-track during my college years. I am now 65 and about 80 percent of my diet is organic. I am careful with my eating and it makes a huge difference.

@@k_harmony8430 You are very welcome. It’s normal to not know, when first researching!
Supplements aren't necessary. Except for maybe vitamin D if you live in a cold climate. Just buy whole ingredients. Buy full fat yogurt and add a little honey. Nothing prepackaged. No fishy crackers.
I started eating healthy💪 and Intermittent fasting since I was 16, two 2⃣ years back and now I'm 18. So I'm good👍
I'm a farmer and I'm using urea, bio organic fertilizers, and foliar spray to increase the yield. I'm a cut flower farmer but this types of fertilizers are also used for vegetables here in the high lands of the Philippines.
I love UA-cam because of channels like this. I've learned so much . I wish I would have been more nutritionally informed while I was pregnant 10 years ago. Because of Dr bergs videos and all I've learned I'm always talking health and I think it makes some people irritated , oh well their loss , I've said it before and I'll say it again " if you don't have good health nothing else matters !
I see the pattern of deficiencies on both sides of my family
It breaks my heart that I didn’t know this before having children.
I’m praying God provides my family the understanding and the means to continue to improve our lifestyle choices🌱

Off and on since 27, now 37 and Pregnant🙌🏽
Hello Dr.
Are you sure about the 1000mg methylfolate? That's 1g a day? Normally it's about microgram, not milligram.
@@rivd good catch! Yes, mcg

Started. Eating healthy about 5 years ago when I found you. I'm over 50. Getting my family on board
👏👏👏
I'm now living on my own land, fully off grid (on a well & home done solar system) with my wonderful husband and 2 children (8 & almost 4), all healthy keto, we planted a "food forest", & have chickens & multiple greenhouses! Starting our own nursery! 😁🌳🌱
I have started health life with keto when I was 33. And after eight months I became pregnant. I still keep on Keto diet now. I don't know the result yet. Before now I have had three miscarriages. This is why I take control my health with knowledge of Dr.Berg. ❤❤❤
P.S I’m very interested to hear about your findings in regards to soil and it’s link to the nutritional value of food. I’ve been wondering about this for a while.
Wife is 7 weeks in, Dr. Berg please go on a pregnancy video marathon 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞!!
Have you checked all his videos on pregnancy already?
I would put also time to check his videos on absorption of vitamin d.
Wow I love you. Always provide the solid, real information. I started officially getting the healthy lifestyle at age 33 🙏🏼
This is why I researched while Iwas pregnant, what to eat and not eat, and at what point certain vitamins are needed to help growth in different areas (eyes, limbs etc). I was all over it lol. Thank God!
Do you have any tips/resources? I’m searching as we speak!
Good to know thanks! I actually JUST starting drinking green tea again

How did you make out?!
I’ve been doing pretty well, but this week I’ve had heaps of junk food 😭😭 this is such a motivation video for me too stay healthy for my baby :C🙏🏼
Yes, bc it's junk food for you, but it's your baby's development!!
