I'm American and make a complete turkey dinner once a month during the winter. I start with Thanksgiving, then, Christmas...January, February and March. I cook for two days, sometimes making double batches of turkey stock, cranberries, etc. to freeze. Then we eat leftovers i.e. turkey sandwiches (both hot and cold), soup, tetrazini, turkey with gravy over biscuits, etc. Did I mention I love turkey?
Probably IKEA. The Wetherspoons one looked a bit sad, like a Birds Eye microwave meal on a tray. Can’t believe sprouts weren’t an option on either, you can’t have a Christmas dinner without sprouts!
The Wetherspoon pices vary from pub to pub. Unlike your £14.79 meal, the same thing in my local Wetherspoons is £12.05. I think the best value christmas meal is at a carvery, real roast joints of meat and loads of veg.
@@iamtheeggman1986 Just looked at another Wetherspoons near me and it would cost me £11.52 with an alcoholic drink. This and the other Wetherspoons are only a couple of miles apart so it's a bit of a lottery on the price you'll be paying..
Taking everything into consideration the Ikea one is the winner. Quite a few other vloggers haven't been that impressed with the Spoons Christmas dinner considering the price. Good vlog. 👍
Hello from Los Angeles! 🙋♀️ I'm voting for Ikea! The supporting cast looked good but the big star of Ikea's meal was the fact you got a portion of real turkey, and though it was white meat, it didn't look dry. I sometimes dine at the Burbank Calif Ikea as a first choice when in the area. Only because, the menu is huge. The food is well prepared. Prices are more than reasonable. The noise level is surprisingly low. And finally, I can honestly say, I've Never had a bad meal there. I can't say that about many proper restaurants I've dined at.
We don’t eat turkey in Sweden - not at Christmas, not ever - so it makes me feel sad that IKEA in the US apparently serves American food rather than Swedish 🥺
They both look a bit grim sadly… but I’d say IKEA looked slightly better because of the potatoes & proper turkey. Are you going to review a proper Xmas roast from a carvery? Hope so 😋☺️
I’m surprised you didn’t have an issue with spoons deli stile turkey slices. No roast spuds? Poxy small stuffing ball tasting of fish? And the price Jaysis! I’d go for IKEA by a mile. Strange tasting parsnips and I agree with you on the stuffing. Looked more like a sausage to me. But roasted potatoes, real turkey plus’s the add-ons I thought the second was nicer. Can’t understand why no sprouts on either meal. Great to see your subscribers increase. You deserve it buddy.
The main attraction was the bird at IKEA for me. But Wetherspoons for the veggies and I agree with you about sprouts. What a tragedy 😂😂. Enjoy your Christmas dinner at home this year. God bless
I've seen the weatherspoons one, I don't think you can call it a Christmas dinner for me, no Yorkshire pud, no roast potatoes, I've never understood mash on a roast either
The ad I watched before your video was one of those combat games and ended with... one must survive! A fitting tagline I thought. It was more expensive and it did have the bogus turkey, but I agree, Wetherspoons was the the winner. The meal looked better, and by your account, tasted better. Now, for Thanksgiving here, my sister in law cooked us a whole turkey. It tasted like a lifetime of bad decisions and emotional pain. I may have covered most of mine with stuffing and accidentally dropped it into the rubbish can. I also got to listen to my brother discuss politics. At great length. In depth. For hours. So, I daresay you had a better meal on both occasions then I did!
Hello, EIE Both meals looked smashing. But I preferred Ikea. The turkey was fresh, the roasters looked great, and the pigs in blankets were delicious. Cheaper too. Ikea is Swedish, so their meals are always going to differ 😊😊
My favourite meal of the year🎉 Of them both I think I'd got for Ikea because the turkey, roasters and pigs in blankets looked awesome but I'd try to get there a it earlier so as not to miss the cabbage and Yorky pud🙂🙂

They both look a little like school dinners! I've tried the Wetherspoons one, there was nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't the best meal I've had there... I usually think Wetherspoons are one of the better chain pubs for food..... Wetherspoons stopped doing Sunday roasts about 5 years ago, so this might be why they no longer have the facilities to do things like roast potatoes....
IKEA apart from the missing items. It has roasties instead of mash and real turkey. Neither had sprouts though which is quite an omission. I had the Spoons one last year and won't order it again. A very sad meal. The processed turkey, mash instead of roast but worst of all the stuffing which was over dry and had a contents of a hoover bag quality about it. I may take a trip down to my local IKEA to find out for myself.
Wetherspoons food has gone down over the last year it used to be good value for money with a good portion but they now seem to be penny pinching prices have gone up and food portions have shrunk, used to use Wetherspoons quite a lot but not anymore.shame come on Tim you are loosing a lot of trade.
Definitely prefer the look of the IKEA one probably because you paid the extra for the pigs in blanket and it had roast potatoes on it too the wetherspoons one looked not very appetising. Great upload.
Both are very disappointed Weatherspoon, no roasties a must on a Christmas dinner IKEA, you have to pay extra for things That should be on a Christmas dinner Pig in blanket no sprout or Yorkshire pudding Best wishes
I'm a Wetherspoons fan, but on this occasion I prefer the look of the Ikea meal. The meat was the real McCoy, the roast potatoes looked a healthy colour and the parsnips actually looked substantial. With the Yorkshire pudding it would be even better I'm sure.
Wait for me im on my way to help decide 😂😂❤. I’m a bit mixed on this. IKEA turkey, but wetherspoons was winner, not a sprout in sight 😢. Both stuffing was horrible looking and wetherspoons stuffing ball looked like it had rolled under the cooker. I can’t eat fruit and savoury but hands down its wetherspoons
Being a Scandinavian I am sad to agree with you! IKEA should have stuck to their roots (then they would have won!). But their sad plate wouldn't even qualify them as a worthy solstice sacrifice! So ko they get to live an other year! 😛
there has been 3 or 4 food reviews on WS christmas dinner all have been bad. I do not see what you get for what you pay is value. I would simple put that better value and choice would go to Toby. or another carvery place.
IKEA seems cheap. The stuffing in Turkey looked strange. If you re hungry it would be fine. I wonder if this is served after 11.30am? I will check and get there promptly.

It’s a legal requirement, like cranberry sauce which is also ignored for the other 11 months of the year.
