@@TulipB89 that's very true. The pigs in blankets not being included means that their festive carvery is not a festive carvery at all. So it's basically a half-assed venture on their part. Having said that I almost always have pigs in blankets with roast dinner, as well as sprouts, so the only thing that sets a Xmas dinner apart for me is the turkey and the wider variety of options on the plate, all of which I will have a different times on a roast dinner - eg mash, roasts, potato gratin, cauliflower cheese, red cabbage. I tend to have all of them on Xmas day but alternate throughout the year.
Pasta on a roast dinner is an outrage! Beyond that it’s just a regular Toby meal surely? Solid, if unspectacular. Not sure what makes it a festive menu, when you can have exactly the same in March or July 😂
The pasta is for the kids. I guess it allows parents of fussy kids to still enjoy a carvery. Pizza Hut do it too, and I think that's kind of weird as well.
I thought that too with the mac/cheese but it oddly tastes really good with the roast. I do 2 roast dinners a week with all the stuff and pigs in blankets so nice to go to the carvery sometimes for a break😅😅😅
Looks absolutely delicious mate thanks for all the great content this year and hope you have a great Christmas and looking forward too videos in 2024 cheers mate 🎉🎉
This Toby Carvery Christmas Dinner is absolutely delicious thanks for a brilliant content this year I hope you have a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2024 mate.
I would go hungry all day to make way for this christmas meal, the mash was perfect, yorkshire pudding looked home-made & a lovely array of vegetables. The crumble & custard just the right size portion too & definitely worth the money. Thank you for all the great Videos you do, looking forward to upcoming ones. Wishing you a Merry Christmas & happy new Year 💜🦌☃️🎄
Pasta with Christmas Dinner?? What madness is this? As ever, you make your videos come alive with the way you wave the knife and fork at the camera and then nod. Genius! 😒
Merry Christmas fella🎅. Thank you for all your vids this year! I for one especially love your Sunday uploads (when I'm hungover and craving food) haha. All the best
Yes you always have the pasta, something i would not have with a carvery. I is really the best option for a christmas dinner. when you are not stuck with 3 carrots and 2 roasty like some other meals. i stilll would not get the PIB when having to pay extra, you want to not fill up on buying more items so you can get a good value meal. with go backs. plus if you want some just get a full pack from your supermarket for under 12 PIB. the two meal cost vs the standard carvery price. since this does sometimes change by location as well as week day and weekend prices. but even for £19.47. but without the PIB £4. may be get the 3 course week price £16.49. start with prawn cocktail, then dinner then crumble with water for the drink. would have been good to see prawn size vs morrisions version.
Not a sprout in sight hehe! Your meal looked good with all the gravy yum! And the pudding loads of custard!!! Good vid and happy Christmas to you and your family!🎠
No Brussels Sprouts, and what was festive about the crumble? They always have cranberry sauce available at the gravy station. There's no place on a roast dinner for pasta! It looks like a regular carvery meal!
Being utterly selfish me and my husband are going by ourselves to toby carvery on Christmas day. Other family members are looking after parents and daughter going to her boyfriends so first Christmas ever by ourselves, we are so excited. Great to see the vid, even more excited now. Im easy to please😆😆😆
Totally agree with your gravy policy - but I think you could have poured a bit more on. Enjoyed your vlogs this year mate - looking forward to more in 2024. Merry Christmas. 🎄
Hi...thank you for your vlog, always interesting, very much appreciated, the meal looked quite good, definitely better than some you have tried, Happy Christmas to you and your family, and a healthy happy New Year, big hugs Sue (Woodhall Spa) x
For £19 those pigs should of been on the plate, even if it was 3 per person and gave out at the meat section, otherwise, this was a good plate of food, not sure about the macaroni pasta dish, seems like an extra but not sure,if so ,I think I’d prefer some fresh broccoli instead,..the dessert was eye candy too,the custard had a good consistency and looked like a decent portion, all in all,I’d give it an 8/10
Looked great to be fair. Credit where credit is due. But, when the heck did pasta bake arrive on our shores for a Festive Christmas dinner? I can only assume it's a veggie option, so extra point to Toby. 👌But perhaps nut roast would be better. #keep everyone Happy
Hello EIE, That Christmas dinner looked amazing. I wanted to eat it myself. All the combo bites looked awesome, and the dessert was great. Smashing vlog EIE well worth the money 💰 😊😊
Hello again! I think festive dinners/buffets are great for value but come under 1 condition the food has to be good quality otherwise it isn’t worth it!. But in this case it seemed pretty good and the meats seem appetising! Also the fact that in Toby carvery u can get as many sides as u want (unlimited) is brilliant as you can never be full! I rate this place. Although abit cheeky pigs in blankets are £3 more bit much for me.
Hi from delightfully wet and gloomy Los Angeles 🙋♀️. Rare weather for us, so to me, it's a holiday treat! They gave you a good looking plate! The Yorkie Pudd looked especially good, as did those parsnips and roast potatoes. Compared to American stuffing recipes though, Toby's looked under-seasoned and not fluffy like our typical stuffings.
Pig's in blankets should come as standard on a Christmas dinner, it seems a bit unfair to change extra for them, but I suppose it's a bit of extra revenue for the restaurant's.
Looks pretty good. However I don’t think I’ve ever had either mashed potato or Yorkshire Pudding with a Christmas-style meal. Roast potatoes are the thing for me, plus Russell’s sprouts with bacon & chestnuts. I almost never have turkey, never on Christmas Day (we generally go with duck or venison), but each of us usually has a turkey meal in in a restaurant once in the run-up to Christmas - mine was about a week ago & it was pretty good. Glad you enjoyed your own carvery meal.
Hi there, that Pasta Bake looks like Macaroni Cheese to me. It is a shame you did not go for the classic, traditional Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce for dessert/pudding. Was the Festive Apple and Rhubarb Crumble spicy with Cinnamon and Ginger? Best wishes and take care. Kind regards, Peter Skuce, St Albans. Hertfordshire.
Had a Toby last week. The Dinner was fine. I had Gammon and Turkey. The Xmas pudding was far too sweet with no flavour and the custard was tasteless. Merry Christmas to you mate and thanks for all these food videos :)
Im looking at this and wondering how this is any way festive as it seems to not include sprouts, which I'm sure are a mainstay all year round at Toby normally. This just looks like the normal Toby carvery. In fact I'm sure I had cranberry sauce on my Toby carvery six months ago!
It looks very nice apart from the Mac and cheese. I would like to wish you a merry xmas and thank you for your video's over the year. I was wondering if in the New Year you might tell us your name. I like to start my comments with the person's name. All the best Sandra
What's festive about apple and rhubarb. Rhubarb is ready in May to June apples in the autumn. The pigs in blankets should come with it, I would eat it though it looked better than our local carvery.
It would bei interesting to know how much they charge for their regular Carvery, as the pigs in blankets were an optional side. If they are charging more because it is near Christmas then it is exploitation. I don't really get the size of the pigs in blankets. It would make more sense to only serve three and charge £1.99, and let the customer decide if they want two servings. Is it worth the money, No.
The regular carvery has differant starter and pudding options apart from that it's the same carvery option for whoever wants it, it's only time of year they do pate starter on the Christmas menu but not regular menu so last week had the 3 meal dinner and regular pigs in blankets, not the ones on Christmas menu with cranberry sauce on as hate the sauce
That looked so nice. At least they didn't skimp with the bacon for the pigs in blankets. Charging extra for them is obviously just a way to capitalise on the holiday period. The combo bites are getting better and better. Also, that dessert looked gorgeous. I used to make crumble,so I can imagine how lovely it was after that dinner. I don't remember there being pasta in the previous Toby carvery video, either.
That was macaroni cheese lol! It's served with a Roast or Christmas Dinner in some cultures. But with 2 types of potato, a big Yorkshire and pasta, that's alot of carbs on the plate lol! Yes, I would definitely pay 20 quid for that 2 course meal with a pot of tea. Looked deelish. 😋😋😋 Merry Christmas! 🌲❤🎀
lynne gateshead, the christmas dinner is lovely , the condiments do mean a lot of taste to the dinner , like lovely apple with pork, chicken and turkey and mint with lamb, horseradish with beefand the condiments have to be spot on , but the potatoes have to be the best with butter and cream in the mash , but making a lovely dinner in the house with all the trimmings is much cheaper and more tasty than paying all that money for a carvery its so much of a waste of money. lynne
Was this worth the money?
Comment Below 😀
Absolutely
Yes
Nooo I don’t think so 😢
I think it looked amazing!! great value for the 2 courses
Many places are now charging extra for pigs in blankets. It should be part of the Christmas meal surely.
I think they should be included too
Totally agree.
I think that they should be included three.
Today's way of life , £££ 😢
Everything's getting more expensive. That's inflation for you.
The Pigs in Blankets for nearly £4 😮 is towards the 'Toby carvery directors' Christmas bonus. 😉
Pigs in blankets at Wetherspoon are over a fiver. Not sure if you get more of them though
@@TulipB89 that's very true. The pigs in blankets not being included means that their festive carvery is not a festive carvery at all. So it's basically a half-assed venture on their part. 100% agree
The pasta is for the kids. I guess it allows parents of fussy kids to still enjoy a carvery. Pizza Hut do it too, and I think that's kind of weird as well.
Had my rant before reading the posts and then saw this , totally agree.
I thought that too with the mac/cheese but it oddly tastes really good with the roast. I do 2 roast dinners a week with all the stuff and pigs in blankets so nice to go to the carvery sometimes for a break😅😅😅
American mac n chese creeping in,,not for me 😢
Looks absolutely delicious mate thanks for all the great content this year and hope you have a great Christmas and looking forward too videos in 2024 cheers mate 🎉🎉
Hope you have a great Christmas too, thanks for watching. I really appreciate it 😀
Dont think you should have to pay extra for the pigs in blanket . No sprouts ? The pudding looked delish x
I know! They should have been included. The puddings was fantastic
This Toby Carvery Christmas Dinner is absolutely delicious thanks for a brilliant content this year I hope you have a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2024 mate.
It was delicious 😋 Merry Christmas Na happy new year too

Merry Christmas fella🎅. Thank you for all your vids this year! I for one especially love your Sunday uploads (when I'm hungover and craving food) haha. All the best
Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching the videos 😀
Not sure if you realise the pasta bake is actually macaroni cheese 😂
Was it lol 😂
Sorry ..but you shouldn't pay extra for pigs in blankets it's a normal part of lunch surely? Otherwise I suppose it was OK. How much was it?
Now that looked like a delicious generous Christmas meal. Merry Christmas!
It was delicious! Merry Christmas

I love a Toby's carvery never had a bad meal.Happy Christmas fella.👍
Happy Christmas!
Looked like great food for the price.
Happy Christmas to you and yours. 🌲🎅🏼🎉☃️. Thanks a mill for all the videos. 👍
Happy Christmas to you too. Thanks for watching the videos
No sprouts?? That`s the best addition at our local Toby at Christmas. I normally have a plateful much to the bemusement of my family. 🤣🤣
Your farts must be extra rancid
Thanks for all your vlogs this year, really enjoyed them. Happy Christmas and I hope you have a great 2024 xx
Happy Christmas to you too. Thanks for watching the videos
First time comment, the tea bag and teapot confusion, i could not stop laughing.
It was a nightmare lol
Not a sprout in sight hehe! Your meal looked good with all the gravy yum! And the pudding loads of custard!!! Good vid and happy Christmas to you and your family!🎠
Gravy and custard! Two of the greatest food liquids lol Happy Christmas to you too
I grew up with putting the teabag in the cup and pouring the hot water in so no worries in the US. Mac & cheese on the side. Wow awesome.
No Brussels Sprouts, and what was festive about the crumble? They always have cranberry sauce available at the gravy station. There's no place on a roast dinner for pasta! It looks like a regular carvery meal!

You'll definitely enjoy the meal 😋
Looked lovely, deffo for me, if it is a festive meal, sprouts and pigs in blankets is a must and not an extra. Ty for staring 🎉
Totally agree with your gravy policy - but I think you could have poured a bit more on. Enjoyed your vlogs this year mate - looking forward to more in 2024. Merry Christmas. 🎄
Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching 😀
Allways enjoy your food reviews. Wishing you and yours a very Happy Healthy and Peacfull New Year.
Hi...thank you for your vlog, always interesting, very much appreciated, the meal looked quite good, definitely better than some you have tried,
Happy Christmas to you and your family, and a healthy happy New Year, big hugs Sue (Woodhall Spa) x
Happy Christmas to you and your family too 🎄
Good review I’m going on Boxing Day !
Regardless of the anti-carvery snobs, there's unquestionably a place for Tobys in this world. And across the Styx river...
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Same to you!
For £19 those pigs should of been on the plate, even if it was 3 per person and gave out at the meat section, otherwise, this was a good plate of food, not sure about the macaroni pasta dish, seems like an extra but not sure,if so ,I think I’d prefer some fresh broccoli instead,..the dessert was eye candy too,the custard had a good consistency and looked like a decent portion, all in all,I’d give it an 8/10
I agree with 8/10
Great you tried the Mac and cheese! What did you think of it? I thought it was a bit odd, especially with the gravy ha ha!
Mac and cheese in a roast? Absolutely diabolical
Glad you recovered from that teabag disaster at the beginning. Otherwise it looked like a fair deal. Merry Christmas everybody!!!
The tea bag disaster was a nightmare lol
Looked great to be fair. Credit where credit is due.
But, when the heck did pasta bake arrive on our shores for a Festive Christmas dinner?
I can only assume it's a veggie option, so extra point to Toby. 👌But perhaps nut roast would be better.
#keep everyone Happy
Going for my first Toby's carvery in year's next week, this has whetted the appetite nicely, looks great!
Enjoying the combo bites.
Me too!
They are a sight to behold.
Not bad for a ‘ stuff yeh face’ 20 quid gig😂😃👍
Its a pretty good deal
I had this exact meal in 2018 when I left the UK and it was 12.49,
Its getting expensive nowadays
im a big fan of the toby meal but they never have lamb on week days but they say its on the menu
Now that you mention it, i've never had the lamb either
Looks great, always liked a Toby
Me too. I'm a fan of Tobys
MERRY CHRISTMAS MATE. HAVE A GREAT DAY X
Merry Christmas!
its the good old roast as usual, Toby is pretty good for this, always nice, i think its worth it knowing what its like to cook it!
Pigs in blankets should be part of a traditional Christmas meal for sure…😃👍
I absolutely agree pigs are the best bit. Tesco do them as part of the festive menu which will stop soon. V Sad. Will make my own.
I agree!
That looked good yummy , 10/10
Looks lovely. X
Looked good value for what you got. That Toby looked like the one at Chapel Allerton - always worth a visit.
It was a good Tobys!
Happy New Year , for more Eating!! Xx
Looks good 😊
It was! 😋
Hello EIE,
That Christmas dinner looked amazing. I wanted to eat it myself. All the combo bites looked awesome, and the dessert was great. Smashing vlog EIE well worth the money 💰 😊😊
Worth the money for sure. I would happily go back 😀
I have never been to Toby Carvery, I don’t live near one 😢 but their food always makes my mouth water!
Its good food! 😋

That looks like reasonable value for two courses, but the pigs in blankets were a rip-off
thanks for the video , great review , must start watching your other reviews by subscribing 👍👍👍
Awesome, thank you!
I would love to try some American foods in America. Maybe one day 😀
Pig's in blankets should come as standard on a Christmas dinner, it seems a bit unfair to change extra for them, but I suppose it's a bit of extra revenue for the restaurant's.
I thought it should have been included too
u can never had enough gravy, which is true, good vlog Merry Christmas
I love a lot of gravy lol Merry Christmas
Love the video John! I'm not super impressed with the lack of sprouts. How can it be a Christmas meal without them!?
Looks pretty good. However I don’t think I’ve ever had either mashed potato or Yorkshire Pudding with a Christmas-style meal. Delicious as ever

Merry Christmas to you too 😀 maybe I will reveal 🤔
Great review and meal ,even a pasta choice for anyone who doesn't want the meat option .
It was a great meal for sure
Mac and Cheese on a roast is criminal. Apart from that top notch.
What's festive about apple and rhubarb. Rhubarb is ready in May to June apples in the autumn. The pigs in blankets should come with it, I would eat it though it looked better than our local carvery.

Its worth a visit for sure
lol cup of tea with a Christmas dinner bit strange
Food looked really nice but 9 wouldn't have pasta on it sooner have the pigs in blankets thanks for this review merry Christmas
Merry Christmas
10/10. Except paying extra for pigs in blankets. And I do a apple crumble with sultanas. I and crumble made with butter. And I like Christmas pudding.
The Macaroni Cheese was there when I went to one in the summer.
When will we see the next ultimate combo bite?
New Year,new epic combo bites.
I think it’s a Mac& cheese, maybe for American thanks giving festive menu 🤷🏽♀️
Looked fabulous
For the money,what a meal!
Its a great deal
That looked so nice. At least they didn't skimp with the bacon for the pigs in blankets. Charging extra for them is obviously just a way to capitalise on the holiday period.
The combo bites are getting better and better. Also, that dessert looked gorgeous. I used to make crumble,so I can imagine how lovely it was after that dinner.

The crumble was the perfect pudding to end on 😋
It looked mighty fine.

I really enjoyed this meal 😋 Merry Christmas to you too 😀
Describes macaroni cheese as "some sort of pasta bake" 😂😂
399pigs all the profit and why the Yorkshire its only with beef our way,no Brussels or red cabbage?have a good christmas and new year.
If Shakespeare was there he would be asking Toby or not Toby that is the question
Toby
Yum.
It was defo yum! 😋

It's only all u can eat for the vegetables, and you pay extra for pigs in blankets but it's still very good love toby
Pasta isn't a usual part of xmas dinner is it ?
Very unusual. However, more Vegetarians nowadays.
Looks different, not used to it being on Xmas Dinner 😮
Is that your real voice or is it a computer???
you have three things i would never have pasta with cheese cauliflower with cheese and parsnips
What, no mushy peas?? Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas
Lovely dinner but how can you put pasta on a roast dinner :-((((
so its a usual carvery like u get every day but charging u double
Pasta bake? Wouldn’t be putting that on my roast dinner whether it’s a normal option or not. That’s just tooout of the box.
Good to see you get back to these types of video,Christmas markets are all the same, overpriced & shit
There didn't look as if lamb was offered, so why put out mint sauce? It seems lamb is only offered on a Sunday at the highest price.
Included in the price 😂 you must remember we are in the season of extortion.
you got 2 carrots and itmessy esp when ur vlogging it
Who puts pasta on a roast dinner
was there lamb where you went. id give it a 9
There was no lamb when i went
The dinner looked perfect, but not with pasta. That is a separate meal.
First time I have ever seen pasta with a roast dinner ? 🤔🥴
😋
