Morrisons doesnt look good at all, that stuffing ball 🤢. The turkey looks like your standard cooked meat. Sainsburys sprouts and potatoes i like. Cauliflower a big no no
Looking at your Morrisons lunch I think the roasties, parsnips and sprouts were frozen. The Sainsburys ones were fresh. I would choose Sainsburys too. Both meals were very reasonably priced. Thank you
I'm from the USA, so I've never been to these stores. However, I like to call my combo bites, UFB - Ultimate Flavor Bites. Always get the most out of every bite. Enjoyed the video. Keep up the good work. Have a blessed holiday season.
Cauliflower cheese on a Xmas meal a new one on me and Yorkshire puds controversial to the traditionalist such as myself. Both looked okay for the money I suppose but not really in keeping with traditional ingredients , I'll make my own 😁
Both look like a good value for the money. I think I would also prefer the Sainsbury dinner. I’m an American in England and think I will stop by a Sainsbury Cafe soon.
This is interesting for me. I worked in one grocery store that did catering for holiday meals but it is not common in Canada. And you certainly can’t order a hot meal in a grocery store. Let alone a Christmas feast. You are very lucky to have these amenities.
Loved it. Still no stuffing but an extra pig in blanket. Great value at £7 for the roast meal. Kids eat for £1 and there's nectar points. Thanks for the vlog.
It’s time for another video from Everyday I’m Eating, and it looks great: let’s watch it. Delicious! But I think now I need to dip my phone in the gravy: so let’s go for it. Amazing!
You’re lucky, our Sainsbury’s shut their restaurant, a very selfish thing to do. Greatly miss going there for lunch as I am sure lots of other people do.
I also think Morrisons are good for money but Sainsbury’s Christmas’s dinner looks better quality over quantity. I also think the touch of cranberry sauce contrasts which the savoury food which was needed! And the roasted potatoes looked far better crispy and soft as Morrisons were barley cooked in my opinion but I agree Sainsbury’s for me!
I've seen another review of the Morrisons Christmas dinner from another store and everything looked a mile better, it just depends on what store you go to
I stand corrected but this type meal all comes from the freezer. I guess a chef cooking fresh meals like a turkey roast is not cost effective. However with my non critical hat on, both meals looked filling and appetising but Sainsbury's came out on top for me based your review, but great value for money can't be beaten after a weary shopping trip. Had you gone a local restaurant or quality Garden centre restaurant I'm sure a similar fresh ingredients cooked roast would cost double.
Shame the veg at Morrisons wasn't up to par. I'm going for the 3-course Morrison's festive menu at £12.00, so a starter and dessert make it even better value. Fingers crossed my local Morrisons cooks the veg!
My Christmas Dinner from morrisons didn't look like that. It was missing yorkshire pudding, mash and pigs in blankets and the turkey was that processed stuff.
I thought both looked a bit iffy, but for a cheap roast you can’t complain about the portion size. Content wise (because there were parsnips, stuffing, mash and carrots and a big pot of gravy) I preferred the Morrisons roast, but the Sainsbury’s one looked better cooked.
Hi, I just saw that Fenwick in Newcastle has teamed up with…..Greggs for a Christmas ‘fine dining’ experience. It’s an exclusive with chef Mark read. You have to book a table. Please try and go so we can all experience it. The collab no one asked for.😮
I think by looking at them both Sainsbury's looked so much more appealing but in fortunately I won't be able to try it as the two Sainsbury's near me have closed there cafeterias down😢.
I find the more expensive the restaurant the less time they spend “cooking” the food 😂 I hate crunchy veg I like it to be soft I also insist on enough gravy to fill my Yorkshire puddings it softens them up and keeps them hot longer and when you cut into them your plate becomes flooded with gravy again 😊 Oh & I preferred the Sainsbury’s 😊
They are both great value . I was surprised Sainsbury's was cheaper . They both forgot one item though that would have made a difference ... Morrisons do serve cranberry sauce with theirs too but looks like they forgot .
I would say the presentation of Sainsbury’s festive meal was better than the Morrison offering. Granted you got a Pot of tea at Morrison's and who doesn't like a big cuppa or pot of tea, you missed out on the stuffing at Sainsbury’s which was a shame, did the gravy come on the plate already? the thrill of any festive meal is finally adding the gravy to coat all the goodies on the plate, and I saw the Morrison's meal gave you this option. The Sainsbury’s meal was your winner, I would agree those roasties looked lovely, where were the carrots though.? In terms of the costs, I think the £8.80 represented good value for money. Thanks very much for this, one final comment what Camera/phone are you using to get such quality close-ups? and these were mouthwatering close-ups.
The gravy was already on the plate at Sainsbury's, I like pouring the gravy myself too lol. It was missing a few items too. I use my iphone to film the close ups
I would have happily eaten either one, but I think if Sainsbury’s had remembered the stuffing ball and had included some mash as well, they would have been the winner!
I preferred the Sainsburys Christmas meal But....i would want stuffing, and some carrots to "brighten" the meal as it looked a bit bland. We are also told that we "eat" with our eyes first 😊. Thankyou.
The Sainsbury's one looked far nicer Morrisons looked a bit bland to me and a bit overtaxing! You are a good eater if you ate two dinners in the same day bet you needed a nap! Great vid!
these dinners made me remember what i had to cook in morrisons, tasted ok but didnt look the best with the catering potatoes and packet gravy, sainsburys too, catering stuff and processed turkey
All very nice but down here in devon unless you live in Plymouth or exeter ,no chance none of the restaurants and none of the supermarkets have cafes either!
Good evening, well first impression at Morrison's.Well as an old retired chef, I thought it looked awful 😮 Most,if not all the vegetables were frozen. Nothing wrong with that, but badly cooked is another matter. Watching the water drip from the grey/ green overcooked sprouts 😢 Carrotts and the parsnips were beyond bad.Mashed potatoes were likely to be packet 😮 I don't remember when Cauliflower Cheese became the go to vegetable 😮Yorkshire Pudding has no place on a Christmas lunch. The turkey clearly a catering processed roll.Sainsbury's next stop. Well frozen roasties, but given longer to brown. Sprouts, could be freshly prepared and cooked. Cauliflower Cheese was very pale. The pigs in blankets (3) actually looked good😊 Again couldn't see the turkey clearly, but think probably frozen catering roll 😮 More carefully prepared and served food at Sainsbury's with stuffing as well as Cranberry would have been a 9.5,but 8.5 is my score ALLAN&FAMILY
Sainsburys for me, but i wish they would do the meals in like a self service sort of way as i dont like mash , cranberry sauce and only a bit of gravy . Great review x
For me, Morrisons just looked to crammed on a small plate (maybe it was big and still crammed) and it was off putting (imo). And as you noted, the roasties and carrots looked unimpressive and the sprouts needed some butter.
Sainsburys for me though I would miss the stuffing ball. I always find parsnips either end up really hard or too mushy and very hard to get anything in between 🙂
Call me an old philistine, but we never ate mashed potatoes or cauliflower cheese at Christmas! Mum never served the Yorkshires for starters either, she said it was a sign of poverty, although we were not rich by any standards. Mum always cooked the stuffing inside the turkey so it was never too tough but nice and soft and flavour flowed in to the turkey, which let's face it is not the most flavoursome of meats! I think the Morrisons didn't look overly appealing! Id go for Sainsbury there! Nice vid though!
You do or can get cranberry sauce at morrisons but you have to ask for it, or I was told I had to when I got my meal last time. I think you were vey lucky with Morrisons roast potatos they very often taste cardboardy and mealy, the gravy helps disguise that. I also have to say that when I got my meal at Morrisons I was shocked by how nice the mash was. It really tasted buttery and tasty. I can't comment on Sainsburys as I've not eaten there. But your meal looked good.
You got double portions of each.......I just had the Morrisons Christmas lunch today, and unfortunately for me, mine was not even a patch on how yours looked :( Turkey wasn't near as good looking and the carrots were tiny and shrivelled, half as much mash and 1 Yorkshire on the plate. So I don't think you got a genuine example of what 'Joe Public non Vlogger' would get x
I think Morrison's cafes can be very hit or miss, but if you find a good one the Christmas dinner is really good value and very tasty. Sainsburys have closed most of their cafes near me, so the vote has to go to Morrisons, and I'll single out Worthing, Sutton and Crowborough for special mention for laying on a good spread.
My local Sainsbury's used to have really nice cafe, but I think that's gone too, although tbh I haven't been in there for years to check. I do remember some time ago I went in there with my Mum, and she had the Xmas dinner. She sent it back because it was cold. We've also got a Morrions but I don't think I've ever been in their cafe
The debate between quality and quantity isn't limited to just restaurants; it extends to the supermarkets as well. Personally, I prioritise quality, and in that regard, Sainsbury's is the clear winner for me every time.
Morrisons everytime, though I will give Sainsburys another try this year. You do get cranberry sauce with the Morrisons dinner, often they forget to add it, it comes in a little dish, you just have to ask. I can't eat it without the cranberry sauce 😂
Sainsburys wins the day. I used to shop online at Morrisons but the quality standards slipped badly I now shop with Sainsburys and the quality and may I say value is always there
Oh I dono… I liked the look of both. I’m not happy with crunchy veg. Andante the posh people call it. Yuck! Morrisons did have mash as well as roast spuds which I like. Also the stuffing. You have to have stuffing especially on Christmas dinner. Plus plenty of gravy which is a must. No cranberry sauce which suits me. I mean why would I eat jam on my dinner??? I’m sorry buddy I usually always agree with you but this time I’m going with Morrisons. Very reasonable price for what you get too, from both. Great review. 👍
Oh no! I really like Morrisons but that dinner looked absolutely wretched!! Instant mash, soggy frozen veg, dry yorkshires and sandwich meat turkey. Yuk. And what's this Cauliflower cheese with Christmas dinner? I've never heard of that one before. Mmmmm, cheesy gravy 🤢🤢 But great video. Thanks.
Which one did you prefer?
Comment Below 😀
On looks Sainsbury's the Morrison's one doesn't look fresh
I would have said Sainsburys but they forgot your stuffing. 50/50
Morrisons doesnt look good at all, that stuffing ball 🤢. The turkey looks like your standard cooked meat.
Sainsburys sprouts and potatoes i like. Cauliflower a big no no
Both looked really good to be fair.
Obviously not going to be as good as my mother's roast dinner but for a supermarket, looked Great.
9/10 for both.
I’m all for quantity over quality but I thought the Sainsbury’s meal looked better. I think it’s the roast potatoes that wins it for me. Great video
The potatoes at Sainsbury's were a lot better for sure
No carrots or parsnips with Sainsbury dinner ? I preferred the amount for the price at Morrisons 😊
Looking at your Morrisons lunch I think the roasties, parsnips and sprouts were frozen. The Sainsburys ones were fresh. I would choose Sainsburys too. Both meals were very reasonably priced. Thank you
Pricing was good on both meals but yes Sainsbury's did taste a bit better
The colour of the sprouts tells wether fresh or not. I agree with you

I agree with you! Cauliflower cheese is a meal on it's own....or it always was when I was growing up lol😊 Yorkshire puds with Beef! and only beef!
Both look like a good value for the money. I think I would also prefer the Sainsbury dinner. I’m an American in England and think I will stop by a Sainsbury Cafe soon.
Its worth a try 😀
This is interesting for me. I worked in one grocery store that did catering for holiday meals but it is not common in Canada. And you certainly can’t order a hot meal in a grocery store. Let alone a Christmas feast. You are very lucky to have these amenities.
Quite a few of the supermarkets here have cafes where you can order food and drinks at reasonable prices too
Where have all the Sainsburys cafes gone? There are none in our area now, used to be my go-to cafe of choice. Bring them back please.
Yes good old Sainsburys! I must try 😊
Cheers greg
Great video . Very well presented
Thanks 😀
I think I will give them both a try - good review thanks
They are worth a try for sure
Sainsburys without a doubt, but I love all my dinner covered in gravy lol
Thanks a lot. I'm going with the family to Sainsbury's this week now.
The Christmas dinner is worth a try for sure
Loved it. Still no stuffing but an extra pig in blanket. Great value at £7 for the roast meal. Kids eat for £1 and there's nectar points. Thanks for the vlog.

I Live in a small town in Nottinghamshire the Morrisons is massive here worksop
You’re lucky, our Sainsbury’s shut their restaurant, a very selfish thing to do. Greatly miss going there for lunch as I am sure lots of other people do.
Theres not many Sainsbury's cafes around
Ours closed just after Covid used ro love the fish and chips...
I also think Morrisons are good for money but Sainsbury’s Christmas’s dinner looks better quality over quantity. I also think the touch of cranberry sauce contrasts which the savoury food which was needed! I never understand mash with any roast! Especially Christmas dinner 😮
I've seen another review of the Morrisons Christmas dinner from another store and everything looked a mile better, it just depends on what store you go to
I think it does
Both dinners had frozen store Yorkshire Pudds
They did indeed but the Morrisons ones were really hard for some reason
You are best making a roast at home
Absolutely agree and if I was to eat out I wouldn’t be going to a supermarket cafe
I stand corrected but this type meal all comes from the freezer. I guess a chef cooking fresh meals like a turkey roast is not cost effective. I think the pigs in blankets looked A-MAZING
Definitely sainsburys Christmas Dinner, it looked delicious, everything cooked perfectly 🎄🎄🎄👍👍👍💥✨️
It did taste better too
Blimey! That Morrison's mash looked drier than the Sahara! 😲
I love Sprouts! 😋 And they DON'T make me fart any more than I usually do! 🤣
U need to try it first
My Christmas Dinner from morrisons didn't look like that. It was missing yorkshire pudding, mash and pigs in blankets and the turkey was that processed stuff.

I expected Sainsbury's to be more expensive so yes, surprised they were cheaper
I preferred the Sainsbury's dinner. The Morrison's mash looked like it could stop a bullet.
I have to say,it took a while to get to the combo bites.
There was a lot on the plates lol
I love my mash and stuffing so it has to be Morrisons for me!

Morrisons. The Sainsburys turkey looked "plastic" processed meat. Have to have apple sauce with turkey lol. Thanks for another of your great vlogs xx
Agree but so did the Morrisons tbh. That’s the first thing I noticed on the Morrisons one
The Morrisons roast potatoes look like they've been cooked on a radiator
I would have happily eaten either one, but I think if Sainsbury’s had remembered the stuffing ball and had included some mash as well, they would have been the winner!
The stuffing ball would have been great to try, you would probably get it if you went, I think they just forgot it on mine
I preferred the Sainsburys Christmas meal But....i would want stuffing, and some carrots to "brighten" the meal as it looked a bit bland. We are also told that we "eat" with our eyes first 😊. Thankyou.
I would agree, sainsburys!

@@everydayimeating3407 just local cafes and they tend to be expensive 20plus as we are a tourist area close to Salcombe !

I agree
I thought Sainsbury had closed its cafes the one in Halifax shut nearly a year ago
Never heard of Cranberry jam. It is usually Cranberry Sauce or Cranberry Jelly, depending on how it has been made.
AMAZINGGG 😁
Nice
Sainsbury's easily mate for me thanks for another great video mate 🎉🎉
They took it for me too
Sainsburys for me, but i wish they would do the meals in like a self service sort of way as i dont like mash , cranberry sauce and only a bit of gravy . Great review x
Go to Toby Carvery for self service
Morrison’s love my mash like that
It was good tasting mash
We went for Christmas dinner at Sainsbury’s sat no turkey 😢
No turkey 😮
If the Morrisons one had unlimited gravy that would be the winner for me. There didn't seem enough food on the Sainsbury's one.
I know, there was too much food for the gravy or not enough gravy for the food
Id be proper karening up to that counter demanding my stuffing ball !!! 😂
Yorkshire pudding with beef or lamb but it doesn't belong on a Christmas turkey dinner, in my opinion.
I thought both looked quite poor for the price. The Sainsbury's veg looked much fresher, but both had processed Turkey.
New sub, I agree the Sainsburys one looked better, shame about the missing stuffing ball but love the addage of cranberry jam. Plus it was cheaper!
I can't believe it was cheaper too
For me, Morrisons just looked to crammed on a small plate (maybe it was big and still crammed) and it was off putting (imo). And as you noted, the roasties and carrots looked unimpressive and the sprouts needed some butter.

Sainsbury's of course. Liked!
Sainsburys for me though I would miss the stuffing ball. I always find parsnips either end up really hard or too mushy and very hard to get anything in between 🙂
They just need to be par-boiled before baking and they come out pretty perfectly
They both looked nice do they start serving this menu at a certain time in morrisons?
Yes, its 12pm

Stuffing and carrots would have been good
No cabbage
No carrots on the 2nd meal? The plate lacks colour for me!
It did lack a few items that Morrisons had
Definitely Sainsburys on looks alone.
Sainsburys looks like the winner! 👍
They tasted the winner too 😀
Can I ask why you prefer overcooked veggies instead of properly cooked al dente slightly crunchy veggies
Definitely Sainsbury’s
Where were the stores located?
These were both in Harrogate
Is that not bread sauce on the cauliflower ?
More gravy please 😂 never heard it call cranberry jam before? Sauce, yes, but not jam?
You got double portions of each.......I just had the Morrisons Christmas lunch today, and unfortunately for me, mine was not even a patch on how yours looked :( Turkey wasn't near as good looking and the carrots were tiny and shrivelled, half as much mash and 1 Yorkshire on the plate. I prefer the turkey from morrisons as the sainsbury turkey looks like deli meat otherwise I'd have the sainsbury one😊
Should go to Bon pan Asia in stoke on Trent for a buffet video
Sainsburys, by far, looked a lot more appealing and good quality for the price 👌

Morrison's on the outskirts of Harrogate 😉
They really pile on the sprouts don’t they.
Can’t get rid of them otherwise!
