    Thank you for not yelling or playing loud obnoxious music in your videos like so many other art tutorials do.

      Thank you so much :-))) I try to do it in a halfway decent manner, I also do not like when people are yelling in a video without a reason for doing so and of course, too loud of a music is highly annoying - so I will not use this in any video :-)))

      It is always best not to paint fantasy clouds but directly from nature. Of course, it is important that the light and shadows on the clouds correspond with the light and shadows in the picture.

    I like how you start out with sloppy or random colour placements, but then blend it to look great.
    I just started painting and I am very sloppy and half hazard with my colours and brush strokes, and your videos are helping me to be able to work it into something that looks presentable. Now I need to work on being patient, taking my time, and the details. Thank you.

      Good luck. IMHO as a beginner, painting clouds, like real clouds, is an elusive art. My own art teacher told me her next project after summering in Europe was to take more classes just to learn how to paint clouds. She's ever experienced and taught art herself, although now retired. I've been trying and all of mine come out flat.

      You are one of my favorites, you are at the top of the list. You pay attention to details and what you paint looks like an actual picture. I'm aspiring to that. I have to use a reference or it doesn't look good. It's ok to take as much time as I need to get it right. So glad I found you on yt.

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  3 роки тому +3

      @@lisacurtis8162 Thank you Tonya :-))) But I have to admit - I also use reference photos. I rarely show them, at least not in the shorter YT videos. But yes, I mostly all of the time use some kind of reference photo to refer to. And that`s what basically all the realist painters are doing. Some copy the photo, some paint it a bit more loose, but in the end, all the REALLY good realistic painters use reference material. And I truly believe that this is nothing that we artists have to be ashamed of. I don`t like tracing, but to refer to a photo helps a lot, teaches a lot and you end up with a painting that looks realistic. If you specialize in one subject matter than you can, after a lot of paintings, perhaps come up with a painting that still looks realistic although it came straight out of your head. But until then I would not get mad if your paintings that you do without a reference photo are not at the level that your paintings have that you used some kind of reference for :-))) Even Michelangelo and especially Caravaggio were using models to refer to, they were even using the same light setting that they tried to get onto the canvas while they painted their amazing paintings. And I bet a million dollars that those guys would definitely use a photo reference if they would have been able to rather than a tired and shaky model to draw and paint from :-))))

      @@brennerfineart ty so much for replying to my message. I'm out of your league but I'm going to keep on drawing and painting until I learn. I'm going to look up Caravaggio because I'm not familiar with him. I love Davinci, I'm sure that his references were right in front of him. He had to have been present for alot of autopsies. I'm saving your reply because it has some ideas that I didn't think of, like perfecting the lighting. Ty so much.

      @@lisacurtis8162 I really like your spirit, your motivation - that reminds me of myself ;-))) I spent so many hours on the easel having fantastic motivating but also very frustrating moments - as long as the desire to become better is strong in you you WILL get better by simply investing the time. You will make it :-)))) Caravaggio is someone I look up to, people that really keep me from thinking "hey, you are now at the top level" - no I am not...but I will keep on crawling uphills until I hopefully am :-)))

    Coming from 19/06/22's "fluffy clouds painting"...and you say "painting skill is not a gift from heaven"! (It reminded me a scene from Porco Rosso by the way:)) Breath-taking...

    • @brennerfineart
      @brennerfineart  2 роки тому

      Painting is a skill you can learn with dedication and a lot of time! Talent is the factor that decides how long it takes you to pick that skill up - like any other skill in life, it`s not falling from the sky, you have to invest the time to really become good at it. But anyone can get to a decent level if he is willing to spend the time on the easel :-)))

    Good lord, that are some devine clouds! I can't get enough of clouds. Amazing!
    My clouds always look like they're made from iron, lol.
    I actually have a part of clouds on my painting on my chanel, but I'll have to work on them again, because this how I want them to look. I love clouds so much.
    Amazing work!

      Thank you so much :-))) Clouds appear to be simple...but doing them in a convincing and realistic manner is actually not that easy...but keep on practicing!!! It all boils down to the time you spend in front of the easel working really seriously!
