I had to have mine painted and repainted at least 4 times! I learned just how many shades of Blue there is! "Fix it again Tony" was the apt name for these cars. I loved the car, especially the day I got it back from a repaint, but that would last but a few weeks before the peel began again! I graduated to a Miata which was really the "Fiat done right". No Fiat repair person is ever alone! So, thanks in advance for bringing back my youth! And now, to watch another of your great posts...

Nope. The engine is pretty solid. Driven regularly they are well built little cars with the fun factor of a car 20 times the price.
Yes, they are sports cars so they require more car than a beige Toyota built for those who dislike driving . But unreliable is a BMC characteristic, not a Spider 2000.

I had a 1984 as my first car in high school in the early 2000s in FL. Mine was in a good shape but seeing the interior and underside and hearing the comments. Brought me right back to when I spend my weekends cleaning her and draining the battery listening to Pavarotti and Bocelli. After high school I moved back to Europe and wanted to bring her back with me. Unfortunately, a mustang caused the tow truck into a accident which created a fling shot effect and broke my heart!

I picked my girl friend up in it one summer day, top down. She had just had her hair done for our date. By the time we got where we were going her hair was a mess...

Excellent turn around on a very cool Fiat. I enjoy all of your videos and learn a lot of detailing tips. I now would like to share something with you. When putting the top down on a car with an older or original top, you want to give the window a karate chop across the window as you fold the top down. This is to make sure the fold is rounded and flat. I noticed when you dropped the top on this 124, It was bunching up and forming a sharp peak. That can crack the old dry plastic window. I hope this helps.

FANTASTIC video Larreh! Disaster details are awesome.
Question: How come you didn't focus on the wheel wells more? Or was that just not shown in the video, or...?

3:56 Question about the power washer and the coating of the wheel well .When the tar coating disappears in patches under the powerful jet of water, do you touch up afterwards and what do you use to have an oem look coating ? Also what kind of surface preparation to proceed?
