You should do a follow up on the many cars you have brought back to life. It would be cool to see what has happened to them all. Great video. Love the Fiat 124. Great design.
My fiat 124 was cleaned by larry 1 year ago. I got it running and videoed me driving it away from the mechanic, sent the video to larry, but he has not posted it
Hanta? Dear God, man. I'm a doc and I can count the number of times I've seen Hantavirus on one hand. In med school we're taught to ask if the person lives in a home with rodents, or if they've been caving recently. Guess I'll add "are you a car detailer?" to the list.
When I see other retailers just wearing shirts and shorts while clearing mice nests, it is obvious they still have to learn (the hard way?). I fully understand you protecting yourself after that month of illness. Excellent information (and a great vid!).
I had to have mine painted and repainted at least 4 times! I learned just how many shades of Blue there is! "Fix it again Tony" was the apt name for these cars. I loved the car, especially the day I got it back from a repaint, but that would last but a few weeks before the peel began again! I graduated to a Miata which was really the "Fiat done right". No Fiat repair person is ever alone! So, thanks in advance for bringing back my youth! And now, to watch another of your great posts...
Here in Italy fists with original paints driving around for 40/60 years . Man there was something wrong with the body shop doing the job (or you washed the car with acid 😅)
Purple socks Nope. The engine is pretty solid. Driven regularly they are well built little cars with the fun factor of a car 20 times the price. Yes, they are sports cars so they require more car than a beige Toyota built for those who dislike driving . But unreliable is a BMC characteristic, not a Spider 2000.
I had a 1984 as my first car in high school in the early 2000s in FL. Mine was in a good shape but seeing the interior and underside and hearing the comments. Brought me right back to when I spend my weekends cleaning her and draining the battery listening to Pavarotti and Bocelli. After high school I moved back to Europe and wanted to bring her back with me. Unfortunately, a mustang caused the tow truck into a accident which created a fling shot effect and broke my heart! Thank you for this video. Brought back joy memories and happy tears!
This particular Fiat 2000 was last registered in NY 8/84. I was born in August 1984, on 8/9 at 5:44pm in San Antonio, TX. That car was in desperate need of some TLC! Great work! Amazing that rats can do so much damage to a single car in such time. Remarkable transformation as always! Hope the new owner is happy to see the dramatic before/after result.
So satisfying to see you “work your magic”! Your warnings on precautions were so well placed and your video certainly made the point you were trying to make. Well done on all counts!
music is a bit loud in the past few videos. have to turn down the volume a lot then turn it back up whenever there is talking. but great vids! love seeing the before and after
I really hope whoever ends up getting these cars after these details realize just how bad they are beforehand, cause while they’ve become safe to work or restore I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable just driving in it as Is even after the great detail you always accomplish, either way love your videos Larry thanks as always
I've watched all your videos and love your work,i had to watch the first half of this vid through my fingers. So dangerous dealing with the amount of junk in that car. Thankyou again for showing us how to be safe😊👏.
There's that point of dirtiness & health hazard where dumping the car in a pool full of bleach becomes very tempting... All my respect for saving this car. You'd have to pay me a lot of money to have me deal with this.
Steve is the best, he always reminds me of our neighbours we have trailers and utes, one works with electricity so he done up our backyard and the other one owns a mowing company and basically all three of our houses just help eachother out
Hantavirus is no joke! Where I am from, many people have died because of it. It is a distant cousin of covid 19, but there's no specific cure for it yet, and it's really hard to diagnose. It's the first thing that comes to mind when I watch you dig out all those nests. Take care, and keep up the good work
Love watching your videos, Larry. Not only is the detailing content super fun and inspiring to watch, but you have such an awesome, humble and positive attitude that's really infectious. Wishing you all the success in the world, and please keep the exceptional content coming!
What a transformation! Back in '79, when I was 9 years old, I visited my dad in SF and a friend of his took me and my little brother into the city in a blue Fiat just like this one. We couldn't make it up one of the steep hills by Lombard Street! Brings back great memories, these are so rare now. Cool car and only 35k miles on it? Wow! Great job!
Hey Larry weren't you just so excited to find out that after all that hard great work you did cleaning the interior of that plane and polishing the paint to an incredible luster, that the clowns at Rebuild Rescue, ripped out the interior and threw it away and then stripped all the paint off and it is now a pile of parts that can't find anyone to paint it!!
I owned a '78 124 Spyder absolutely loved that car and I can say from first hand knowledge and thank God I'm a mechanic because FIAT truly stands for "Fix It Again Tony" 😂!!!
I love watching your videos for the different ways you treat older paint, newer paint, and different manufacture paint. That experience is gold. There is a lot you can learn from watching videos... but it doesn't compare to what you learn when doing it yourself. I can't wait to tackle more projects and your videos get me excited for my next job. I made my own detailing business called Ideal Detail.
That is my thought as well. This is good example of a vehicle that needs to be bio isolated within the studio. I am concerned about the biohazard contamination within the studio from all the dust, etc. I really hope you decontaminate the studio after this project.
I almost bought one of these while I was living in Italy but opted for the Brava since it was half the price😆 Yeah I was cheap back then. But the Brava had a backseat and more trunk space for my bags as I traveled around Europe as much as possible.
You made me chuckle when you said.......I think now my vacuum now HATES ME. I have seen a lot of your videos but how bad this was with urine and not being taken of 40 years you did a awesome job
It’s sad to see a beautiful classic Italian sports car allowed to become a rats nest. I’m a proud owner of a 1980 Fiat Spider with only 35,000 original miles. I had to have it repainted but mechanically its in solid condition. You did a fantastic job cleaning out the neglect and rodents crap. I’m glad your Spider went to someone who knows how special the classic Spider is. She’ll be on the road many more years. Thank you for doing such a great job on this Italian classic. Joe.

Hanta virus is seriously scary, almost killed my mother 11 years ago and she still suffers from reduced lung function, so good thing you're taking care of yourself
Those were a fun car. A friend of mine had a 850 Spider that he would let me use on occasion. 850 cc's of thundering power, I'm sure someone knows the proper specs but I think it was 40-50 HP. No drag racing in that thing but once you got it on the highway and up to speed it was fun. I picked my girl friend up in it one summer day, top down. She had just had her hair done for our date. By the time we got where we were going her hair was a mess... 47 years later we are still married. Ah yes. memories. Car looks great, as expected.
Another great video! So, Quiet Riot’s drummer has this old 82’ Lambo Countach going up for auction. Thing has been sitting for 20y and needs restoration. Time to take the channel to 11.
