Land Rover has been all about luxury over performance for years. They started going in the luxury direction with the range rover redesign in the early 2000s and the ridiculous prices soon fallowed.
Fun Factor is low, yes this is a quirky and thrilling new SUV from Ford with _interesting_ design to say the least.... but even the Trabant moved quicker around corners than this thing, so it gets a 1 out of 10
V8 swap! Now you're talkin'. I think the 4 cylinder models are going to break early due to stress. Little engines, souped up to put out more power, still contain little components, and those little components break sooner than bigger, heavier ones.
@Logan in case you haven't noticed, the GT's V6 is a V6, not a 4-banger. Most consumer 4-bangers are in the 2.5 litter realm, which includes lots of small parts that are more delicate than the bigger, more bulky and more fortified consumer V6s and V8s. V6s are effective so long as they aren't tiny and fragile, and it's why some of the most coveted engines in the world are either V6s or Inline 6s. Generally however, V8s are more durable when using equal build quality. When the only variable is engine size, bigger is almost always better, to a point. Engines that are too big tend to have other issues, but so long as the build quality is sound, durability will never be one of them. You don't use piano wire for steel cables because piano wire is too thin to be expected to work. Steel cables are larger strands of steel, and are therefore more durable. The V8s may be dying, but the logic behind bigger engines being better most certainly is not (#facts_cant_die)
@Logan Winning a GT Le Mans with a V6 says nothing about reliability issues due to increased stresses from being smaller. This is especially true when boost is increased. There's no getting around the physics. Smaller displacement engines have smaller surface area on the pistons, while bigger pistons have bigger surface area. For reliability I'll take a naturally aspirated V8 over a turbo V6 any day. Oh, and their V6 engine weighs the same as their V8.

Lets be honest here, RR vehicles are cookie cutters. Each year the design is slightly different but frankly, I am getting tired of Doug talking about the umbrella and the rear seats and the power door close buttons. I rather see this empty Bronco.
He hits the nail on the head when he says Ford just had fun with the design. That’s something missing from the modern car world. Nothing really stands out anymore, there’s no fun or passion in the designs. Way back when, vehicles used to have a personality of sorts. That’s really no longer the case for most everything on the market now. I thank modern auto reviewers for that. They’ve generally reviewed the comfort out of big cars, the utility out of trucks, and the quirkinesses of any design language. Now we have a see of overly bulky trucks that are too expensive and trying to be cars, a sea of almost indistinguishable crossovers, and a sedan design that just looks like a blob that abandons the isolating, floating feel in response to everyone supposedly wanting to feel exactly what the wheels are doing (translation: feel every bump, hole, and imperfection in the road). Thank you, Ford, for stepping out. Hopefully, enough people will buy the the more niche packages and stick shift to show that there is still a market. I have a ‘15 Accord Hybrid (that I bought on accident). It’s a very good appliance, but I don’t look forward to driving it.
To the people at FORD.... PLEASE for the love of God transfer the design and durability of this interior into a Superduty truck!!! Lawn care, landscapers, contractors, construction workers, etc have been wanting a truck to hose out and the durability of the rubber coated interior switches for YEARS! You will win the wallets of companies all over the US if you can make this come true! We don’t off road our trucks but my guys get in covered in grass dirt mud sweat and soaked from rain. We always have mud on our boots!
I like the fact that luxury trucks and trims exist but at the end of the day a truck is a truck and plenty of people still use their trucks for the same jobs that people have been for the last 50+ years
Ford’s giving the people what they want, Dodge is giving the people what they want (I guess) and chevy’s got the new c8 (albeit a little inaccessible) but it’s still cool to be living in these times.

Acceleration: the car doesn't have an engine so it can't move, therefore it gets a one. Fun factor: despite a lack of engine, it's still a lot of fun so it gets a 6. Finally, value: I suspect the prices will go up when this car gets an engine, until then I give it a 3

Acc 1 is Hypercar, 2 is Supercar, 3 is fast Sportscar, 4-5 is Sports car, 6 and bellow are SUVs with a lot of power or driving xp focused sports cars, and anything quircky and weird gets a 10. Styling he gives 9-10 for well executed hypercar designs. If a regular sedan happens to look very good, he will give 7... etc... if he likes the design but people don't its 6 lol
The Sasquatch package CAN be had with a manual transmission. Ford didn't initially plan for that, but in September they announced it would be happening. Doug got that wrong. (I'm assuming he filmed this before that was released)
I have a reservation in with the caveat of me following through being that I can get the Base, with Sasquatch, WITH manual. Glad they made that change...which I believe will be huge to the number of manual transmissions ordered.
As a Jeep owner, I’m really happy the Bronco is making a comeback. It’s going to force Jeep to step their shit up and become more innovative. Looking forward to seeing them on (and off) the road. The 37’s give it a really nice stance, and we all know how tall Doug is.

In-car drain holes. Fucking genius. Proper retro styling with modern engineering, lots of quirks and features, lots of trim levels, I will cry if these things flop when they release. There's so much going for the Bronco and Bronco Sport, so much so that I'm excited for an SUV/Crossover (Bronco Sport) for once in my life.
I think Ford is going to sell an absolute ton of these. The GenXers who grew up riding around in their dad's first gen Broncos are the exact right age to sell these to.
Seeing the Bronco Sport tackling Moab and doing all the stuff the big boy Broncos were doing was really impressive. It's definitely not just another Subaru, it will be able to actually go places other crossovers wouldn't dream of going. Sure, it's not going to be a rock crawler, but it'll go most places and more that the target audience will need it to go.
The jeep wrangler also has drain holes btw. the bronco definitely wont flop, it's definitely going to hit it big with the "I want a wrangler but actually daily able" crowd, especially considering how many people are driving wranglers daily right now.
So many impressive features, but one that I really like is the clean, simple and tasteful exterior styling. There's not a lot of pointless, slashy lines and angles cut into the sheet metal like so many other vehicles out there, it looks more like a classic Bronco rather than a modern concept as seen through the eyes of a hyperactive 20 year old hopped up on RedBull. This is a solidly good looking SUV that will always look good into the future.
it reminds me of a scout, which is very classic and appealing. I despise ford products in general, however......would buy the bronco over the wrangler any day.
@MrDrinkgreentea agreed they are a part of history, I just have issues about some executive level changes made in the company, but they are the same changes and fumbles the other two have made so its really just a personal opinion of mine. Hate the new GT, are tired of them screwing with the mustang styling and I think the trucks are nice but edging on too nice and needlessly expensive for the varying quality. But I do like the bronco in full off road trim, and the price point is great considering a rubicon is approaching 55k.
And then they had the audacity to make a "Trail blazer" afterwords. They had a chance to fix it and they screwed up AGAIN. They expect us to buy a Tahoe Z71 what a joke.
Amen. Preach. And yes the blazer is only a good platform for an LS performance version. Something to compete with the trackhawk. Chevy blew their shot for sure.
I agree, Blazer is nothing special or interesting beyond it's better-than-the-last model styling and interior... engine is a little nippy but not exactly exciting. Backseat was an afterthought and the large plastic trim along the entire side of the car just looks cheap.
One of the smartest things on the new Bronco is the fact that the FRONT AND REAR FENDERS COME OFF with just a couple screws on each one. Perfect for replacement if damaged or better yet is too take them off when doing a trail where they might be damaged. BEST FEATURE YET CHEERS Steve h.
Jeep won’t. They can’t. Ever. They’re stuck with Chrysler engineering & supply chain. If Ford has been working on this long enough to for it to be a no-recalls vehicle,(unlikely, but fingers crossed), it’ll destroy the Wrangler.
@@mattmatthews5414 it will never outsell through Jeep, this will be stupid heavy, it’s too big to off-road anywhere with forests, it’ll be expensive asf, the bronco is ugly asf, and is almost guaranteed to be unreliable. No one is going to buy the 4 cylinder Bronco....
But I might. They will be cheaper and they will be a perfect doner car for a V8 swap.
V8 swap! Now you're talkin'.
I think the 4 cylinder models are going to break early due to stress. Little engines, souped up to put out more power, still contain little components, and those little components break sooner than bigger, heavier ones.
I want to see what Henessey does with this
@Logan in case you haven't noticed, the GT's V6 is a V6, not a 4-banger.
@Logan Of course not. But there's only so much smaller engines can do, and only so long they can last.

Bronco > RR Ghost
Love him for it
Lets be honest here, RR vehicles are cookie cutters. Each year the design is slightly different but frankly, I am getting tired of Doug talking about the umbrella and the rear seats and the power door close buttons. I rather see this empty Bronco.
Because that’s what the people want

Guarantee it won’t flop
I think Ford is going to sell an absolute ton of these. The GenXers who grew up riding around in their dad's first gen Broncos are the exact right age to sell these to.
Seeing the Bronco Sport tackling Moab and doing all the stuff the big boy Broncos were doing was really impressive. It's definitely not just another Subaru, it will be able to actually go places other crossovers wouldn't dream of going. Sure, it's not going to be a rock crawler, but it'll go most places and more that the target audience will need it to go.
Lol there is absolutely zero chance this will flop, the most hyped car of 2020 for sure.
This is a solidly good looking SUV that will always look good into the future.

wait until they start falling apart before the warranty period is up. Ford where quality is job none!
@@muskokamike127 they care about quality with this flagship cars. Mustang, ford gt and i suspect the bronco will be the same way.
@@muskokamike127 What's up with you leaving this same comment everywhere? Are you a Jeep employee? Or perhaps Chevy? LoL
@@muskokamike127 I looked up all the most recent reliability charts and Ford is pretty high up there, especially compared to Chrysler vehicles. I'll take the statistics over random people complaining about their old Fords any day. Ford really has gotten better with reliability.
@@sargeantschnutz5767 Especially since Ford makes way more cars than Chrysler...
