So after years of no vacations and insanely hard work and stress, my wife and I sold a company we had built and it went well. I didn't want anything out of it other than the security the money afforded, but my wife wanted one thing: her dream car. It took her a very long time to work out what she wanted and Hummer EV was the LAST think she would have said when she started looking. It's a stupid price, it's a stupid weight, it's a stupid extravagance. Then she ended up test driving one and it was over. She got the EV2, she did not see any need for the "extra" that an EV3 brings, EV2 is already insane. My wife loves this car more than anything she has ever driven. Impractical? Fairly (but we have solar and L2 charging at home). Overkill? Oh this is the "I think he's trying to overcompensate for something" vehicle of the year. Do we love it? Yes. Would I have bought one? No, but my wife was the lead on the company we built and that's what she wanted and man I love seeing her so happy. And I do not mind driving it or being the passenger, it is very nice to say the least. Freakish acceleration. It's VERY definitely not the right ride for everyone. But I don't think GMC ever planned it to be that way. But GMC has cars around 27K to 32K range, like the Terrain. Problem with those is I feel other makers do a better job in the inexpensive car range. But GMC seems to do well with some of their more pricier offerings. Wouldn't be my thing, I like Tacomas.
I guess this is the closest thing GM will give us to a bronco and wrangler competitor. Thanks GM for staying competitive with the competition. It's not like we wanted a true k5 blazer or anything

I can guarantee that if people buy Cybertrucks like they do, this thing'll sell like hot cakes. This thing is the first "unapologetically American" EV.
This comment didn't age well. In one year GM has only sold 1,496 of the Hummer EV SUVs and Tesla just sold 5,100 Cybertrucks in the month of July alone. Nearly more than all EV trucks combined (5,500).

That applies to pretty much applies to all EV trucks IMO. I predicted from the beginning that EV trucks in general wouldn't sell well since people who buy trucks for the image don't tend to be EV buyers and people who buy trucks to do actual work like contractors or someone towing a camper generally wouldn't buy something so expensive just to get a job done, especially considering the limited range and long recharge times. IMO, EV trucks make a lot of sense for people who actually need a truck to haul things, have a place to charge, do most of their driving fairly locally, and won't exceed the truck's range in a typical day, but that's about it.

Doug, have you tried long pressing the "lock" button on the keyfob? Doing so used to put up all windows on older GM cars, and judging by the looks of the cruise control cluster on the left hand side of the steering wheel, there's a good chance they kept this functionality. Works the other way around with the unlock button, too.
Maybe we really should consider additional tiers of driver's licenses. Not a full commercial truck license, just something that recognizes the damage Heather will do when she drives through the front of her local Starbucks.

GMC engineer: **slaps hood** this bad boy can obliterate so many children in crosswalks.
Thats a weird way to see life
So will any vehicle driven by idiots. Most of us stop at crosswalks if people are crossing. Maybe you aren't bright enough to be driving.
@@shawnvezeau3563 That's what these vehicles do, though.
Democrats hurt far more children with their "Transgender" BS, so this is the lesser of two evils.
Unlikely, parents would be with the kids a ta crosswalk, and it's a more controlled environment. Kids aren't allowed to be free range anyways.
