“Now if your like myself and your single and you don’t have friends… “ 😳 Bruhhh most underrated moment in the video Somebody give this dude a hug Great vid either way🤣
I ordered the base with Sasquatch, 2.7, 2 door, hardtop. Ford sent me a Bronco flag, Bronco hammock, Bronco wall art. Very nice of them. Got an update last week. It'll be ready for delivery in 2027.
If you plan to add any electrical accessories such aux lights, definitely get the aux switch upgrade. The switches look great and the truck is pre-wired to the accessory ready spots throughout the truck. It will save you money, time, and frustration in wiring your accessories
What a lot of people forget is getting certain options from the factory (suspension, bumpers, etc) will protect your factory warranty. If you are one of those "ill just get it lifted later" or "go aftermarket later" folks keep in mind the risk to a warranty.
Ordered 4D hard top, OBX with Squach, and Hi Lux package, and at a dealership that refuses to do mark ups. Best of all worlds. All the tech, comfort, and off road capability. When I get it in 4-5 years, I know I will love it! :)
@@_notbrandon Ford recently made changes to their dealer allocation model that effectively reduced the number of reserved/ordered Broncos getting delivered. The more reserved vehicles a dealer has the longer it will take for customers to get their vehicles. In some cases, it could literally take years to get your ordered Bronco.
I ordered the 2 door. I have a wife and a toddler and one on the way. Can fit 2 car seats in the back, so good enough for me. Love how the 2 door looks. Hate how the 4 door looks. Soft top 4 door is even worse look wise.
Your comment was refreshing. 15 to 20 years ago, my kids were car-seat age and I had a TJ, while my now-ex wife was using my Porsche 924S to get back and forth to work in. I'd have "Karen" types offer their unsolicited "Don't you think it's time you grew up and got a family car" comments in supermarket parking lots when out doing the shopping with my daughter. My daughter once set a "Karen" straight, responding to the unsolicited "don't you think its time to grow up and get a four-door family car" comment with "He can't sell the Jeep because it's part of the family, too." She went on to say "And as a family, we go places together and do things that other families without a Jeep can't do." A couple of years ago, I bought a four-wheel drive Xterra. My daughter was disappointed. "I was hoping you'd get another Jeep, so we could go some of those places we used to go." I've since bought a CJ 2A, and it was actually my daughter who found it and suggested I buy it. My sister and I grew up with a first-generation Bronco as our "family car." We didn't miss the four doors it didn't have. Anyhow, I agree with you and dislike the looks of the four-door Bronco (and Wrangler, too) and thinks it looks even more hideous with a soft-top.
I prefer the look of the 2-door, but wound up getting the 4-door for the family dog. Definitely part of the family. I also enjoy the extra cargo room. 2-door is also only 4 seatbelts, whereas the 4-door has 5 seatbelts.
Agree 100%, that's what I orderd. The Black Diamond 2 door with Sasquatch. I think the 2 door is true to the classic Bronco. I've owned a few over the years, I just couldn't see myself in a 4 door. That and my kids are grown and 1 out of 2 are out of the house, so just me and the wife and dogs.
Agreed. If you’re like me and you have one kid, no wife and 2 dogs you can fold down the rear seats and have plenty of room. Rubberized floors recommended with dogs.
So I appreciate your opinion on most categories. However we differ on the Sasquatch package. When you look into the package and price building it yourself , it truly gives you more prospective. It is a complete axle and suspension change. By the time you buy all the parts and ( in most cases) pay to have them installed, you not only spent a lot but you lost your warranty
You and I share the same opinion…you obviously go off-road. I think his opinion is very accurate though…most people will never take it off roading where they could justify front lockers. Super cheap option for what you get!!
Had planned on ordering the Outer Banks, but my dealer had a Black Diamond to demo. After driving it, I'd recommend the Black Diamond over the Outer Banks, The vinyl seats are surprisingly nice and more durable than the cloth or leather. Standard off road capabilities are also good and the AT tires are standard. Overall you get more bang for your buck with the Black Diamond.
Just ordered a Badlands Sasquatch, 2.7l with high package and tow. No dealer markup thankfully. Live in Colorado though and travel to Moab often so am very excited 🙌🏼
@@anfernee6566 I wish Vehicles were an investment some Vehicles you can invest in and expect a return on your investment... We are talking about Ford Broncos though...not Ford GT
I'm over 50 so I ordered the 2 door Outer Banks....I want the creature comforts like the big screen and heated steering wheel so I ordered the luxury package and the 2.7 engine. I don't often have passengers so no need for a 4 door. I also ordered the tow package so I can tow my sxs or my little teardrop trailer. I ordered it Dec 13 and they told me I can expect it in around May 2022. From what I've been reading, it may be a lot longer than that but that's alright...It will be worth the wait.
Still super relevant in 2024! I ordered a Big Bend 4dr manual with mid package, rear locker and aux switches. I think this trim makes sense in 2024 with the washout floors, marine grade vinyl and 12 inch screen standard. Cheers!
Great video. I just got mine this week. I got a 4-door Black Big Bend soft-top w/the 2.3L (which is fine for me at sea level), mid-package to get the heated seats, & aux switches for extensibility. I removed some items to move me to the front of the line (e.g dropped Sasquatch, dropped MIC hard-top, and dropped the trailer hitch). I've since added the $110 after market trailer hitch seen on another youtube video. I absolutely love it - as it fit my budget.
I've gone back and forth and originally I was gonna do the Black Diamond, with or without Sasquatch (At first with, later a maybe). But I realized that really the non sasquatch Badlands is also a really good value. You get front and rear lockers, you get 33" tires which are pretty decent sized and spec'd and the biggest in the lineup except for the Sasquatch or Wildlands. You get the disconnect, which I could live without but hey, it's basically thrown in because you aren't having to upgrade to Sasquatch to get lockers, and a better suspension and skid plates and the modular bumper. You also get signature LED lighting front, and LED rear signals which are BRIGHT and good looking. So the more basic Badlands with the mid package, (or higher if you want 360 camera which is really cool). In short if you aren't gonna Sasquatch a Diamond, you are better off getting the Badlands trim with the mid or high package. If you don't need the front locker, don't care about 360 camera or signature LED lighting. Don't need a sway disconnect, then Black Diamond is definitely the way to go, especially non sasquatch with the smaller motor and 32" tires. This is going to get better mileage and still be fairly capable. You can always throw bigger tires on it later if you want to. But keep in mind you don't get the high end Bilstein position sensitive shocks unless you get the Diamond Sasquatched. You DO get them on the Badlands standard trim WITHOUT the Sasquatch. Which makes it a terribly good deal. They say the Sasquatch adds a bit of ground clearance on the Badlands, but I am guessing that the ground clearance comes from the tires, and not from any major suspension lift. Bilstein position sensitive shocks either way. So yea, if you don't need huge tires you might want to get a Badlands without Sasquatch, it's surprisingly affordable compared to a Sasquatched Diamond. 6 one way, half a dozen the other. For me, leaning towards the Badlands since it is top dog which should help resale, has the LED signature lighting which is distinctive, and has all the protection, bells and whistles, Sasquatch or not. Diamond is an excellent value, but somewhat more plain. And I know a lot of you that is what you are looking for, to save money. Good luck and good driving. Databyter
@@freedomsrt8 yeah, then again, all you're gonna get is better wheels and tires and if you get the non sasq. Badlands you can sell your wheels and tires and buy an aftermarket which is perhaps more unique and better suited for you. 6 of one, half dozen of another. At the end I decided to go Non sasq Badlands just to have something a bit more managable on the road, slightly better MPG, and figured if I wanted I could always add bigger tires or beadlocks later. A 2 dr. manual Badlands 2.3 non sasq was what I was looking at when I finally settled on a build. It would have been badass and I may still get one down the road. But I ended up buying a Subaru Outback Wilderness this time around. Cheaper, Better MPG,. Better commuter and camper. I'll pick up a Badlands on the used depreciated market in a few years for 35K. Databyter
I just got my 24 OBX with the SAS package..Hard Top..bought aftermarket front and rear steel bumpers with LED lighting 23:32 ..pinch weld cover because those are hideous...Rough Country ditch lights and stubby antenna...i absolutely love it...not noisy at all and smooth riding. Could not be happier at the moment...and getting 18mpg
I agree with almost every option choice you made, but I was very disappointed to see the final cost. I am just an old guy on a fixed budget. Thanks for a good video.
2 door base model with the V6 and Sasquatch package is the bronco to get for under 40k. It gives you everything you want in an off-road vehicle and nothing you don’t.
I found a 4 door 2022 Big Bend 2.3L with rear locker and aux switches, signature lighting and HD bumper but it's a soft top. It also came with hard and rug mats as well as a tailgate table.
We got ours yesterday! Black Diamond 2.3 soft top. We put the tow hitch, keypad and the mid package on it. Forgot to mention the door bags, necessary in my opinion. Ours is a really rare one now, we have the Antimatter Blue.
Tommy, as a follow-up to this, how would your hypothetical Bronco compare in value-for-the-money versus the Wrangler that you special-ordered for yourself?
One of the things that attracted me to the Bronco is the fact you can get a stick. When the books open back up in March I'm going to be ordering mine. After listening to this and looking again I've changed my mind on the model and will likely be ordering a Black Diamond, Red, 2 door with the stick.
Ordered a 2 door and swapped to a 4 door soft top to have a timely delivery Crossed 2500km and not dissapointed at all. Loving it so much I can ignore the mpg, wavy window, somewhat noisy wind sound, and vibrating hood. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT
My money would be on the Outer Banks with the hard top, trailer hitch, 12” inch screen package, car mats, roof bags, and Bimini top. Probably in the Battleship Grey.
Yep! I ordered OB + high pkg + car mats + rear locker + trailer hitch + overhead aux switches and was only $1000 more than Tommy’s BD build with significantly more features…
Auto 4wd is for snow, rain, and other slippery roads - especially if there are patches of high and low traction. If you are off-roading, just lock the t-case (and unlock the swaybar).
I really wish I could just spec locking diffs on an otherwise base bronco. Also manual with the v6 would be great but lockers only is what I'd really want. Been very much considering trading in my Ram for one of these!
I live in the city. It's either Black diamond or outerbanks. Black diamond cuz it's easy to clean inside and out comes with steel plates, but I'm leaning towards the outerbanks cuz they have the lux package which upgrades the speakers and subs, seats etc
I ordered my 2022 with a 4 door, Soft Top, Cactus, Base, Stock,,,, only add on is the accessory switches and wires. Ordered it Jan 12th and just got the update for April 18th build date. I can't wait. We love our Cactus Sport and can't wait for the big Bronco. $38,700 out the door.
I want the Badlands without Sasquatch. All the good off-road features including front locker without the oversize tires. Better mpg and road handling and nimbler on the trials. Perfect overland set up.
I think you meant to say "Perfect dirt road set up" instead of "Perfect overland set up". True overlanding, not the overused version of the term where people simply confuse camping with true overlanding, you would want the ability to go over obstacles to get to areas other "campers" can't get to.....then have the ability to move to another location, then another location, etc. You want the 35" tires and lockers.
@@8654ZuluFoxtrot Nope. You’re talking about a purpose built vehicle. Big tires and extreme suspension for extreme trails. Overlanding is more an expedition set up. Long excursions where reliability is more important than extreme capabilities. It needs to be multipurpose where as a single big tired rig is a single purpose for extreme capabilities. You load those rigs with spare parts and tools. Smaller 33’ tires is more ideal for overlanding as it’s less wear. The Badlands comes with front and back lockers and disconnect sway bar. So all the good off-road needs without having to get wide 35’ tires. So again the perfect overland set up.
The badlands comes standard with front and rear lockers, according to Ford. I think you mis-stated that you need to spec the squatch package on top for the front locker. The black diamond does not come standard with the front diff lock, so you would need to get the Sasquatch package if you wanted a front diff lock on that model.
I think there are times where a different approach is necessary. For example: Need a four door with roof rails? That will limit your model, trim, and engine, so you need to research it from that angle. Need marine-grade vinyl seats? That too will limit your model. Have kids and want the whole suite of safety features such as emergency steering, BLIS, blue cruise (or whatever they call it), etc.? Then you need a certain model. My experience with the build-and-price tool, both for 2021 and 2022, is that it is very much like a puzzle: Choose "X", and you can't have "Y". Choose "A", "B", or "C", and you can't have "D". Sometimes, the tool will tell you. Sometimes, you simply won't see the existence of an option depending on the other choices you've already made. Given this, you need to figure out what your "must-haves" are first, and use that to guide your build decisions. For me, that quickly ruled out everything but Badlands. Your mileage may vary.
Two days ago I just received my Black Diamond with the 2.6 (we live at sea level) and mid package and tow kit. I parked next to one with the Sasquatch package and was instantly jealous of the bigger tires. Other than that I love this vehicle and was glad my dealer honored the original pricing so I got it for about 45
Was delayed to 2022 with my base squatch order. So, seeing as I've got more time to save, bumped it up to the big bend. I'm ultimately a poor so I'll take what I can get. Big Bend adds a couple features that you can't get on the base and I wanted those features from the get go, but didn't think I'd have enough time to save. So, here we go! 2022, hurry up!
I feel like I would end up putting 35s on it if I did that. That said, do they have the same axle gear ratios? If the Sasquach has lower gears, then it might be worth it.
Sasquatch is 4.7 ratio with the auto transmission. There is so much trail tech in the Bronco that there isn't any point anymore in the 7 speed manual. It retains an excellent crawl ratio for an automatic and in low, will drive all day confortably through obstacles that make me sweat about my paint job just thinking about them, including obstacles on the somewhat suicidal Hells Revenge trail in Moab.
@@Liq38 Adding to your statement. The big thing you get with the badlands sasquatch is that the wheels are forged and beadlock capable. You will definitely not be able to get forged and beadlock capable wheels and 35" tires for $2500 anywhere else. If you like how they look get them.
Great video, Tommy. It's helpful to get the perspective of someone who thinks about this category everyday for a living. I agree with your reco on the Black Diamond. It seems to be the sweet spot that offers the best bang for buck. Still deciding on 2 door vs 4. Im a single guy with no kids but my practical brain is calling for four doors even though i prefer the aesthetics, and emotions that are evoked by the 2 door design! And while I'd prefer a manual, I think you've talked me into that mid package which requires upgrading to an auto. Cactus grey is the color for me ....reminds me of the retro Bronco's and it looks great with the black steelies that come standard on the Black Diamond. I don't need Sasquatch either since this will be my daily driver in Ohio. I'll happily save that $5k. However, if I were still living in California, I would probably go Sasquatch since there are so many opportunities out there to put it to use. In Ohio, I'd probably go off roading once or twice a year and no way in hell would I attempt rock crawling in my brand new, shiny Bronco! And I'd also add that tow package so I can haul my zero turn mower to my mom's place to mow.
get badlands and 4 door. Don't build for now, build for future. Badlands comes with sway bar disconnect and more utility for off roading, if that matters to you. 4 door is really nice when you got to take people.
I got a 23 Big Bend with a lot of options. With my discount for waiting I was able to get a lot of options for free. To get everything I got in a outer Banks would have cost a lot more. As I drive a lot I absolutely hate the self driving tech which mine doesn’t have. Not to mention you can just turn on all the goat modes
I'd just say the high package is very much worth it if you plan on doing any wheeling by yourself. The 360 cameras and offroad cams could save your ass or at the very least your paint.
I order the badlands 4 door, 2.7, MIC top, eruption green, lux, tow with the sasquatch. I drove the Sasquatch at the Bronco Offroadeo in Moab on the Dome Plateau trails. The offroad capability of this setup is remarkable. There were badlands in our group on the 33s and they were capable, but had waaaay more rock rubs even on the 2 doors than the 4 door sasquatch were. I agree that the less than 2 inch clearance difference between the non sas baddy and the Badsquatch doesn't sound like much, but it makes a difference. So do the wider/taller 35 inch Sasquatch tires with regards to float and traction. Having done major offroad mods and lifts to many pickups and jeeps aftermarket over the years, there is no way to warranty mechanical issues you might run into with all that offroad driveline and suspension gear on your truck. Many hours of engineering and tuning by Ford went into the Sasquatch package. We need to try to remember that this engineering specific to this vehicle is what you are paying for, not just the gear itself. No aftermarket suspension gear will ever go through as many miles of testing.. the sasquatch package is designed so that the heavy bronco won't eat your tires due to altered alignment and geometry. It won't prematurely wear your driveline components, it won't change the spring rates/ruin your ride quality, and nobody can ever claim that your odometer is off when dealing with a warranty issue. It's worth the money unless you are going to flip your Bronco in 3 years. It's also worth the money if you're buying a bronco to do anything other than drive to a hiking trailhead. If you go to an OHV park of any type anywhere, get the Sasquatch and don't Mod it until after your warranty expires.
I am ordering the same spec as you, it looks like the best off-road spec possible to me. My truck will primarily be driven off-road, so the added capability is a must.
I think they're up playing the six-cylinder a little too much. In my opinion if you're getting a four-door go with the 2.7 with the auto. If you're getting a two-door the 2.3 should be fine. I'd get mine with a manual. If you're getting the sasquatch and don't mind a slow vehicle the 2.3 should still be fine with the crawler gear but I don't think you're going to be able to get that combination until next year.
@@travisb9130 I'm moving from an 02 4Runner that, tho it is supercharged, is probably only putting 220 or so to the ground. Anything would be an upgrade. That said, I'm hoping this saves enough weight to help off road and keep it from feeling sluggish. It helps that in 20 years this will be a unicorn configuration, I'll probably get out what I pay.
I think for cool factor, the 2 door manual is the way to go. For practicality which is what he's going for, the 4 door auto is the way. So you picked the coolest option
Went with base 4 door Sasquatch 2.7 with mic top, steel front and skid plate with aux switches. For me, the basesquatch has all I need especially coming from a old Honda Civic which I’m keeping as a beater car for work.
@@harmonnewhouse2751 no and I was a July 2020 reservation date. But I heard people that literally ordered broncos a few months ago have delivery dates. Ford really fudged up this bronco launch.
Disagree with the Sasquatch package being something to forego. The gearing, lockers, wheels and tires is actually a very good deal. If you are going off-road, and you should, you will eventually want bigger tires, and re-gearing the axles alone would be $2,000.00.
still disagree. the kind of off-roading most folks will do with their new expensive broncos even an open diff base would suffice. a want vs need argument -Tommy
@@TFLtruck Tommy, an inherent problem I see in these videos is that they assume everyone is broke and wanting to pinch pennies when they are buying a brand new vehicle. If you've got the money and are going to want these features eventually, the smartest money is to pay for them now and have the features now in a factory designed and installed system, with the commensurate reliability and resale value included. I get tired of seeing people claim that no one will want to take an "expensive" vehicle offroad when I see people with $100k plus in their Jeeps with them off road all the time.
@@TFLtruck The open diffs would actually be better than the optional rear locker you recommended. Not even looking at off-road, but like most of the Wranglers out there, some will never see anything but the road, yet still have 35" tires. Opt for the locking rear diff only and you get a 4.27 axle ratio. With stock 28" tall tires. ANY tire upsize and you'll lose 10th gear on the highway. Go all the way to 35" and you'll likely lose 9th as well. So your 10 speed transmission is now only an 8 speed. There will be a large fuel economy hit, and very sluggish feeling Bronco. The Sasquatch package gives you those 35" tires, and the 4.7 gear ratio means you have all 10 gears on road, and a Bronco that won't feel like a complete slug off the line. If you buy a Bronco with the locking rear diff option (or even if you don't) you are going to need to spend at least $1500 for the new tires, $2000 to regear the axles so it at least drives decently, and a suspension lift to fit the tires under the vehicle. Probably another $2000. The Sasquatch package is just good value. You get the tires, suspension lift, decent looking wheels, fender flares that will keep it all legal, AND lockers for those that decide to take it off road as a bonus.
@@rl9810 you have a good point but a lot of wealthy people we work for love to pinch pennies lol so I get people only wanting to get what they absolutely need, however, you're right if you've got money to blow why not get a fully loaded model lol
I just spec'd and built 5 of those new Broncos on Fords website, and all I added was Mid Package Key Pad locks and trailer package, they all came in at $55-64K monthly payments of $342 bi/weekly for next 7 years...like wtf!!?? I forget which one it was, but the Sasquatch model was cheaper by a couple of thousand with the better drivetrain and suspension.
indeed base over big bend. outerbanks for suv mom. black diamond overall best choice with washout floor. disagree on engine since 2.3 has plenty power. sas should be a must as it is high value in the components vs cost. skip signature lighting and get modular bumper.
As someone who works for a rental car company, I can assure you we do not choose the nicer wheels on any vehicle unless the manufacturer requires it as part of the agreement. We forego floormats to save money, for goodness sake.
Nice video. I like how you broke everything down and realistically tell viewers how most folks will not need this package or this model and to really look at what you’re going or want to do with this vehicle. That’s why we watch TFL!
Young Ford in Brigham City Utah is charging a "Market Adjustment" of $20,000 on their Broncos and $5,000 on Bronco Sports. It's ridiculous and people paying anything over sticker are fools in my humble opinion. Hence the saying "A fool and his money are soon parted". I tell those dealers to shove it up a particular orifice and I'll wait until there are plenty of them on the lots or find a dealership with morals and standards who's not out to screw their customer base.
I went to the Super Ford in Salt Lake City and ordered one at msrp on Oct. 13. You can find a few websites with spreadsheets showing all the dealerships that don't markup. Super Ford in Salt Lake City being one and the Ed Kenley Ford in Layton. Those are the only 2 currently in Utah.
@@Jkanderson1 I was going to say that Ed Kenley in Layton isn't adding Market Adjustments but you covered that. Good to know that there are at least two dealerships in Utah that aren't greedy and screwing over their customers. Thank you for the reply.
I've heard the cautions about dealer mark ups but wonder how common it is. I've not bought a Ford new for years, had no dealership loyalty, so picked a salesperson by positive reviews and mark up was not even an issue. Of course with order in, I'm still waiting.
@@markp.5618 That's awesome! You'll have to let me know how it goes and same, no dealership loyalty here although I will remember and only order from the ones who didn't "Market Adjust" their prices.
Yes, Layton is a lot less shady than Brigham City. If you are willing to be flexible where you buy your Bronco, the more likely you won’t get screwed over by mark-ups.
I would water it down even more than Tommy. Only 2 options I would recommend is a Base bronco with minimal options, or a completely stock Badlands. Tommy's Black Diamond build was $50 grand. That's Badlands territory
Went by our dealer and looked at one and was very disappointed the quality was very bad. It had a cloth top and the top was lose and didn't fit at all. When we looked at the price we all most crapped.
I have to give a presentation of a Wildtrak Sasquatch this morning at the dealership and I thought you're video was the most informative over the weekend. I just started back with Ford just 2 weeks ago so I had to learn it quickly.
I feelike when it comes to resell value, a bronco with the Sasquatch will value more. And if you only want the bigger wheel, the cost of lifting and big tires will probably cost the same. Thats why I ordered mine with it. Not gonna go off roading but just for the look it's worth the 5k.
You can't get adaptive cruise-control on the Black Diamond trim-level, and you're limited to only the marine-grade vinyl seats. Those are the two reasons I went ordered the Outer Banks trim-level instead. (I ordered it in that new Eruption Green color -- I really like that color!) And I went with the soft-top because of all the issues y'all have had with your hard-top. Maybe Ford's supplier is making better tops these days, or maybe not. But the main reason I went with the soft-top is that I want the ability to put down my top all the way without having to remove it and store it somewhere. And, yeah, I went with the Sasquatch package, even though it's only going to be off the pavement like 1% of the time, LOL. It just looks *so* much better than the regular Bronco does, IMHO.
I just drove home a couple of hours ago in a brand spanking new 2022 Bronco 4-door Outback Edition. And let me tell you I am like a kid left alone in a candy store. I do not believe I have ever been this giddy ... crazy eh! It's not like I haven't owned nice vehicles in the past ... heck I traded in a Jeep with less than 15,000 miles on it to buy this dream vehcle. Of course, this vehicle costs more than my first house but heck that is living life in the fast lane.
The High Package is key if you live in a colder climate due to the heated seats. I wasn't been able to add them to the Black Diamond and because we wanted wash out floors we had to get the Badlands. And if you add Lux to the Badlands it automatically spec'd carpet and leather. So High is the best package for utility! We also live at Sea Level so went with the 2.3L Manual. Optional 33s, Cactus Gray. Oh boy. Sooooon!!
@@Jakek722 Really?? I had heard that after the fact, that some people were able to add heated seats. I had no luck adding them and the Mid Package didn't include them. Pretty expensive mistake on my part, I guess. Black Diamond is the best trim for the buck.
@@Jakek722 ha! That seems like it was intentional. I may end up ordering a Black Diamond and see when it gets here. I do like green, haha. Either way, congrats on a killer score!
After these actually start rolling out more I bet the only ones you will see on the trails is base squatch 2 doors. That’s what I ordered as I think it’s the best bang for your buck without frivolous things that I personally don’t need as I’m currently driving a 1999 jeep Cherokee 2 door 5 speed
Honestly the 4 cylinder is more than enough for the elevation. I live in Wyoming and have a Big Bend edition. I find that the soft top is adequate to keep out the -20 temperatures as the heater in mine is very efficient.
My daughter is considering a BIG Bend hardtop 4door, little engine, automatic, does it have enough power for towing a smallish trailer for dirt bike's, or 4 wheeler, small boat, type work. Her and my 1yr old grandson have out grown her Subaru impretza...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
I have a 2 door Badlands with the 2.3Lanual transmission. I jave had no issues driving in the mountain and tow my side by side with no issues. Looks a little silly, asy side by side is bigger than the Bronco. LOL
Thank you for the great video. You make great points about the Black Diamond and Wildtrak vs Badlands. It's a conclusion I also came to and I was in-between Black Diamond and Badlands. I wanted the stabilizer bar disconnect as well as the signature lights, and Bilstein position sensitive monotube shocks for the horrible roads. Here is the kicker on a lease with Black Diamond I was only around 90 per month difference than a Badlands thst comes with 3 peak snow flake rated tires. I went with the Badlands knowing I'd get 33 inch tires and not need another set. When resale after 1.5 to 2 years is taken into account I find the Badlands to be a real winner.
I think if you are leasing and going to sell in 1-2 years, go top end (even though that entire process is a waste of money IMO). Top end always have better sell value usually due to higher end finish in both quality and durability. They tend to also have the latest tech which have a longer life span. I will wait and buy a used one in 4-5 years at half the price and when all the recalls/bugs are worked out.
as a recent JT owner. The key element for people is breaking down Ford's cost for stuff vs aftermarket. e.g. sasquatch adds those tires and wheels..and ford's price is seemingly is too much ..... but..Ford tossses in new diff gears and lockers...to do that aftermarket..$2k at best with labor for the gears.. not to mention, lockers..aftermarket...$3k. so the lockers and higher numerically gears are worth it alone..tires and lift and wheels are just the icing...can do same math for bumpers..afternmarket tops..even things like
Theyre all good choices as long as you get at least a rear locker. Plus, the 2.3 manual is cool in a 2 door with 33s max. If you want to go 4 door with at least 33s, the 2.7 and 10 speed are a huge plus. With 91 octane its pretty fast.
I don’t think it got mentioned, but it’s important to know that for Broncos like Black Diamond and Big Bend, you cannot spec it with a manual trans and the mid package. If you want the manual, the locking rear, AND the mid, you HAVE to go up to the Badlands. VERY frustrating.
I put in my order for a Big Bend today and I stuck with a simple build to get the vehicle faster. I'll get a hard top later after FORD has sorted out all the issues.
It's been 5 months, it seems since you ordered. Did you get it yet? I am thinking of putting an order too, want to know without any modifications, how long is it taking
You'll never regret having the better parts, especially when you're stuck or reselling it. Better warranty, better financing, have it now, and it's already installed! And if it's more than you need, you can easily down spec tires fender flares later - **way** easier than deciding after the fact that you wish you had items the aftermarket has never produced, like the sway bar disconnects or auto 4WD. I recommend the Sasquatch package, at any trim level. The only reason not to is if you're planning a SEMA rig built beyond the OEM, like a Jeep with D60s - don't pay for D44s.
Ordered 11 months ago, 4-door sasquatch with hard top. I got notification from Ford I need to re order thru my dealership a 22MY which I did right away. For my re order I did soft top instead of hardtop. The email from Ford said if you order soft top it will speed up ur delivery time. I'm not willing to wait another year or who knows how long for a hardtop.
I enjoy all your videos. The BD is my order choice for ease of dirt AND dog hair removal. I was going to get the modular bumper. Perhaps I'll forgo that option and upgrade the convenience package. I wish they still had rapid red for 2022. Two door for me.....I'm old school. I want my Bronco to look like a Bronco.
I need the heated steering wheel, so the lux package is a must. It’s unfortunate you need to get the most expensive package just for heated steering wheel.
I’m changing my 21 Wildtrak order to a 22 Big Bend. Big Bend is still a great value and I like the wheels. I like the standard retro headlights. Standard screen is fine will have my iPhone 13 pro max mounted to dash as well anyways. Will be Big Bend, 2.7, hardtop, eruption green, Mid package.
@@johnlibby9355 eventually I’m gonna try to source some of the mirrors with zone lighting and wire them up to one of my Aux switches. Oh yea forgot to say got the six switches as well! Worth it for $200!
Ours should be delivered between November 10-16th. Excited to see it! 2.7L 4door Sasquatched. Velocity blue. Hope the wait, the very long wait, is worth it!
I just ordered a 2 door outer banks... Sasquatch package/lux package & this is just my opinion but you get the nicer wheels bigger tires front & rear lockers & beefier suspension for the money its a no brainer all of that if you were to buy aftermarket & then pay to have all that installed would cost you way more! Plus all those goodies are under warranty which is huge...probably didn’t need to go lux package but it duz offer more & to be honest I do like all the creature comforts these new rigs come with & now that I’m getting older.
Hmmm. I have a 2.3 4 door base Sasquatch and have 0 issues with power and I’m completely happy with the rig. Soft top is the better top too. It’s quiet and super convenient to drop the top. I think the waves in the rear window are there too so the top can pivot up. IMHO
Order my black diamond like the one you ordered except. Modular bumper roof rack No bag for the rear roof panels. Deleted the factory hitch since they are running at about 1/2 of what they need for orders. This will delay your build. Already have my aftermarket hitch and OME wire harness in hand to install. Came in about the same on cost. Two aftermarket items to add. Leveling kit 1" Gas piston kit for th hood
Great video! I’m looking at buying a Bronco but was confused about what all the different packages offered. This video did a good job of breaking down each one.
I'm only at 1200 ft of elevation so I'd save some money and get the 4-banger with the manual but otherwise I think this is a good call for 99% of people who want an off roader that doesn't need to be able to tackle the Rubicon trail.
I live at sea level and got the 2.3 manual with Sasquatch package and the power is more than you’ll ever want for this type of vehicle. I also drive a 2021 Subaru wrx sti and I never feel like I need more power when I’m driving the Bronco
Not mentioned is lack of cd player. Apparently scoffed at as being old school, but not all music is available digitally and it can be taken away at any time even though you paid for it. It happened to me on a baroque music album. Poof! Gone. Would have appreciated a bit slower delivery and a little more details on some options. Fi, washable floors I believe includes marine quality seat materials. Might be good to know. What colors are available for 2022? I guess I could Alphabet it but would be nice to dedicate 10 seconds to it. But I really appreciated your angle of selecting and spec ing out options.
I really like the 4x4 auto in my Expedition. I live in Minnesota, and 4x4 auto works great on snow. You wouldn't even know there's snow on the roads when using auto.
Yup. 4A is great for normal roads in bad weather. Especially if people are driving who don't get how 4x4 systems work (like my wife, for example). Just put it in 4A and you can drive it anywhere without worrying about binding axles or anything. If you're offroad, you use 4H or 4L. I never use 4A offroad. Also an Expedition owner...
I got bumped from a 2021 BD to a 2022 and you are literally specing what I'm ordering, right down to the color (except I'm getting the regular steel wheels).
Tommy, I have a 22 Bronco ordered (reserved in 20, ordered in spring 21, reordered 22 in fall of 21) exactly as you suggested in race red. One thing you didn’t touch on is as the models change the interior colors change and some of them are ugly or clash with exterior colors. The black diamond grey black goes with any color. Also, the soft top rear access seems like a pain
Ended up with the 4dr Badlands because it was the only model I could spec with the LUX package, because it was the only way to get LUX with a Manual Transmission. 360deg cam and smart cruise control is pretty sweet. Badlands comes with 33" tires which IMO look just as good as the Squatch. Sadly it sounds like Ford is no longer offering a manual option on the order books. For a driving enthusiast, the Manual Transmission is worth finding.
“Now if your like myself and your single and you don’t have friends… “ 😳
Bruhhh most underrated moment in the video
Somebody give this dude a hug
Great vid either way🤣
I ordered the base with Sasquatch, 2.7, 2 door, hardtop.
Base with Sasquatch package. I feel like that’s the best bang for your buck for off-roading
My dealer can get them under 40k base + sasquatch/bumper seems like a bargain next to the 70k gladiator across the showroom
@@accordv6er definitely. That’s what I’m wanting to get.
F*ck dealers. Viva Ford in El Paso, tx lied and screwed me over with a 10k up charge
When I order mine it will be base plus Sasquatch in orange. Now orange is an up charge but to me it’s the coolest
@@accordv6er how? 2 door 2.3?
Ordered 4D hard top, OBX with Squach, and Hi Lux package, and at a dealership that refuses to do mark ups. Best of all worlds. All the tech, comfort, and off road capability. When I get it in 4-5 years, I know I will love it! :)
HAHAHAHA! 😂👍
@@RysterARCEE I didn't hear this, but was told when I ordered mine that the current estimate is 3-6 months.
Squach cringe
The dealer told me a little over a year......I called Ford and they said maybe September 22---I ordered it in October 21
I ordered the 2 door. I have a wife and a toddler and one on the way. Can fit 2 car seats in the back, so good enough for me. Love how the 2 door looks. Hate how the 4 door looks. Soft top 4 door is even worse look wise.
Curious - did you go for the manual or Auto? Good for you to get what you love!
@@milleniumraz Auto because I wanted the V6! My wife agrees completely as well. She loves how the 2 door looks.
My daughter once set a "Karen" straight, responding to the unsolicited "don't you think its time to grow up and get a four-door family car" comment with "He can't sell the Jeep because it's part of the family, too." She went on to say "And as a family, we go places together and do things that other families without a Jeep can't do."
A couple of years ago, I bought a four-wheel drive Xterra.
@@jerroldshelton9367 What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to be doing the same with my kids. Enjoying it with them.
I prefer the look of the 2-door, but wound up getting the 4-door for the family dog. Definitely part of the family. I also enjoy the extra cargo room. 2-door is also only 4 seatbelts, whereas the 4-door has 5 seatbelts.
I think the 2 door looks so much better to be honest. Although we lose space it would make a great small everyday driver with a better offroad option.
Absolutely! The 2-door is really a good looking and capable looking off road vehicle.
I agree. The only reason I did the four door was for the wife
Don't forget longer wheel base is better on road, and it's still very good in tight parking lots.
Can't get high package on Black Diamond though unfortunately
Ordered a Black Diamond w/Diff lock , bush bar and tow package. Just went into build after 4 months.
Love how genuine Tommy sounds.
Just ordered a Badlands Sasquatch, 2.7l with high package and tow. No dealer markup thankfully. Live in Colorado though and travel to Moab often so am very excited 🙌🏼

Cheers!
Is it weird that I already know all this stuff yet I'm still watching?
Same here
Yep me too and I already put in my order today. Can’t wait for it.
Same
Great video.
Databyter
To add sas to the badlands is like 2k or so. It was a no brainer for me.
Databyter
Sasq black diamond is cheaper by 2k+ than non sas badlands. If full LED and sway bar isn’t a big deal it’s a no brainer IMO.
During the dry summers out west having a hardtop will keep the dust out and the air conditioning in.
I just ordered mine last week! I think the waiting time is around 6-8 months. Do u think we might them sooner?
Ordered a 2 door and swapped to a 4 door soft top to have a timely delivery Crossed 2500km and not dissapointed at all. Loving it so much I can ignore the mpg, wavy window, somewhat noisy wind sound, and vibrating hood. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT
4 door delivers faster than 2 ?
I agree but I think for me a 2 door Black Diamond 7 speed manual with a 34" tire upgrade would be perfect.
My Dog is my friend…. Going the 4 dr… He likes to go fast so going for the 2.7 … Probable soft top to start… Badlands non-SAS
Ford ranger with FX2 and fx4 packages have rear locking differential 👍
For example:
Need a four door with roof rails?
Other than that I love this vehicle and was glad my dealer honored the original pricing so I got it for about 45
2.3 or 2.7?
Was delayed to 2022 with my base squatch order. So, seeing as I've got more time to save, bumped it up to the big bend. I'm ultimately a poor so I'll take what I can get. Big Bend adds a couple features that you can't get on the base and I wanted those features from the get go, but didn't think I'd have enough time to save. So, here we go! 2022, hurry up!
The Badlands comes standard with Lockers and Sway Bar disconnect with 33’’s Sasquatch really not needed
I feel like I would end up putting 35s on it if I did that. That said, do they have the same axle gear ratios? If the Sasquach has lower gears, then it might be worth it.
@@phild9813 yes if you buy the manual it comes in 4.7 gears vs 4.46 with the 10 speed
If you're going auto anyways at $2500 the Sasquatch is a no brainer on Badlands.
Tip from another video, keyless pad fits inside the gas cap. Get it as a DIO to get it on the inside of the gas door.
I own a Outerbank
Twin Turbo
Sasquatch
Lux
Leather
MSRP 56K and I like it alot. 👌
Find a dealer that sells at MSRP Buster Miles in Heflin Alabama does not mark them up and they deliver nationwide
Regardless of what trim you choose, everyone should opt for the $195 Aux Switches. This will future-proof the Bronco for accessories added later on.
Boy you're really making me feel great about my 2 door manual/4cyl badlands sasquatch order...
@@travisb9130 I'm getting a 2-door with the 2.7. Give me all the power!
Any word on a delivery date?
@@harmonnewhouse2751 no and I was a July 2020 reservation date. But I heard people that literally ordered broncos a few months ago have delivery dates. Ford really fudged up this bronco launch.
I actually got the body protective moldings and it’s really useful for preventing rock chips on the front and scratches from driving through brush
@@joel9405 I think most penny pinchers are buying used vehicles and not new, though.
TBH my dog is 100% the reason I am ordering the 4 door. She would absolutely hate not having a window that rolls down.... lol
Didnt think about that… good point
Me too!
Really 😒
Bimini originated in sailing, named after the island of Bimini, and basically is defined by being a fabric (canvas originally) cover for a cockpit.
Keep it simple. 2 dr base , manual... add 35 or lift w/ 37 tires, after market. Done.
I’ve got the 2021 Big Bend and I really like how it handles. I put some aggressive all terrain tires on it and it’s smooth driving.
Oh boy. Sooooon!!
I have a black diamond with the midpackage and it does have heated seats.
@@Jakek722 Really?? I had heard that after the fact, that some people were able to add heated seats. I had no luck adding them and the Mid Package didn't include them. Pretty expensive mistake on my part, I guess. Black Diamond is the best trim for the buck.
@@winkydee I was shocked when I got to the dealer and saw the buttons. I was under the same impression.
Showing LOVE for my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHANNELS period Thank You and have a Blessed day everyone
The key element for people is breaking down Ford's cost for stuff vs aftermarket. e.g. sasquatch adds those tires and wheels..and ford's price is seemingly is too much ..... but..Ford tossses in new diff gears and lockers...to do that aftermarket..$2k at best with labor for the gears.. not to mention, lockers..aftermarket...$3k. so the lockers and higher numerically gears are worth it alone..tires and lift and wheels are just the icing...can do same math for bumpers..afternmarket tops..even things like
If you want your Bronco quick, order the soft top. I ordered a Black Diamond 4dr soft top in October 2021 and have a January build date.
Theyre all good choices as long as you get at least a rear locker. Plus, the 2.3 manual is cool in a 2 door with 33s max.
If you want to go 4 door with at least 33s, the 2.7 and 10 speed are a huge plus. With 91 octane its pretty fast.
I like going into detail and summarizing what each trim is best at. I didnt mind the length at all. Definitely helped me pick what I need.
No you don’t, you can spec the Sasquatch package on any model including base.
Base. But not until market cools and incentives, discounts come in bringing it down below 27k.
I couldn't agree more! Black diamond would be perfect if it came with the high package
That’s what I’ve been saying, if black diamond had the high package, I’d be SET!
This thing looks so badass, but man, I'm gonna wait for a year or two, when they've ironed out all the kinks (so Ray Davies doesn't get mad).
You can option the locking differential and still keep the price reasonable
@@johnlibby9355 yup that exactly what I did. Big Bend 4 door, eruption green, mid package, 2.7, rear locker.
@@johnlibby9355 I decided to add in the rear locker last minute. Seems worth it
@@johnlibby9355 eventually I’m gonna try to source some of the mirrors with zone lighting and wire them up to one of my Aux switches. Oh yea forgot to say got the six switches as well! Worth it for $200!
Ours should be delivered between November 10-16th. Excited to see it! 2.7L 4door Sasquatched. Velocity blue. Hope the wait, the very long wait, is worth it!
I was going through all these in Ford dealer today! Thank your Tommy posting this in time!
Modular bumper
roof rack
No bag for the rear roof panels.
Deleted the factory hitch since they are running at about 1/2 of what they need for orders. This will delay your build. Already have my aftermarket hitch and OME wire harness in hand to install.
Came in about the same on cost.
Two aftermarket items to add.
Leveling kit 1"
Gas piston kit for th hood
Great video! I’m looking at buying a Bronco but was confused about what all the different packages offered. This video did a good job of breaking down each one.
I'm only at 1200 ft of elevation so I'd save some money and get the 4-banger with the manual but otherwise I think this is a good call for 99% of people who want an off roader that doesn't need to be able to tackle the Rubicon trail.
Stabilizer bar disconnect is another reason to go Badlands. I've ordered a 4 door Badlands w/ Sasquatch package but who knows when I'll see it.
This video made me smile. I ordered the black diamond 4 door with hard top and the 2.7 engine. With the mid package
