- Hi, I am Alina! Join me on my solo-journey through Portugal as I explore the deep connection between humans and the ocean through the lens of surfing. Capturing in surf cities like Peniche, Ericeira, Nazare, Lisbon, Lagos, and Sagres, I explore the goals, fears, struggles, and challenges of those who call the ocean their playground. This film is not just for surfers, but for anyone who has ever felt a connection to the sea (or even never felt before but has a desire to feel it for the first time). A film that will connect you with your inner self as well as with the origin of all life on our planet - with the ocean. A film about how many valuable lessons we can take from the philosophy of surfing, since we all are surfing our own life waves on this journey.

Although I've never tried surfing nor seen any oceans...Alina, you could express every detailed emotion I feel just looking at water: rivers, lakes... it gives such an incredible feeling of patience and sereneness... Alina, thank you for sharing these deep thoughts, feelings and comprehension!
As a new surfer, I have so much respect for this film. Thank you for creating it so powerfully, with deep spiritual components. I recently caught my first wave on my personal board and it was thrilling! Took one full year, and I have so greatly respected the process of learning how to surf later in life. I'm from the Midwest, so living by the ocean (I'm 3 miles from the ocean now) has been so healing for me - and necessary after some traumatic experiences back home. Very cool video, thanks for making it. The ocean has been the one constant my entire life and for whatever reasons its stays the same every single day every year. No matter the moods, the weather, all the different faces the ocean shows it still gives me the best feelings. At 54 years old i often find myself smiling and letting out a giggle while in the water, just a natural exude of expression, same as ive done since a little kid. Im very fortunate to live across the street from a beautiful coast, great waves in a wonderful part of the world where people will save all year to come spend a week. To enjoy the best playground, the best healer and motivator the world has to offer imo. For those who find joy in any fashion from the ocean i feel they are one step ahead of the world, because the ocean has amazing powers and the abilities to help the human mind body and soul. Whether you surf or not, put the phone down, put those feet in the water and be in the moment.

@@danielontheway0815 Im in north San Diego (Carlsbad). Right now its peek summer, im surrounded by vacation rentals, and long time locals. As i type, im looking outside watching a steady stream of people headed to beach. I meet people from all over the world. Everyones happy, going to the biggest and best playground in the world ha. I have family in central and northern california too. Everyones right on the beach yet central and northern CA is much different than So Cal. Beautiful in different ways. Ive spent entire life exploring the CA coast and it never gets old. Where are you?
@@IanMcSlater hahaha you lucky one. I am a landlocked surfer and live in the south of Germany. The next usable waves are 1,100 kilometers away on the French Atlantic coast. When things go well, I'm at the seaside 6-8 weeks a year. But seeing each other again is all the nicer and the time in the water is very intense. Next week I'm flying to the Hawaii of Europe, the Canary Islands.

That was an awesome 40 minute video. Am old, have spent many hours in the bush and at the beach around Auzz, mainly body surfing. Your video brought back a lot of wonderful memories. Absolutely brilliant way of producing a video that emotionally moves us from within, you have a great gift Alina, follow your bliss. The best part about being in nature, the surf or the bush is that the birds, the fish do not judge you, they do not care it you are tall or short, rich or poor. you can dress up or whatever. @@alinasworldyoutube Hi Alina, Thanks for your reply. Am 62yo, have been over most parts of the world by Boat, Plane and foot. I live 40 minutes inland from Byron Bay. Much prefer the isolation than the crowd. Australia has a lot to offer without needing a passport. Have been on Sheep stations in Western Australia that are 1million Acres, Walk some bush tracks in Tasmania where you think a Dinosaurs is around the corner,,,, so remote and when you see the southern ocean, it is blissful. Paddle the Noosa everglades. There is no best spot, we have a mixture of everything from the forest to empty beaches. There are a few software that guide you to any type of destination. Always take a walking stick, snakes do not like it when you hit the stick into the ground. Take a whistle, just in case you get lost. The best book I recommend is "The Female Brain" by Louann Brizendine, She also wrote "The Male Brain" A cheat sheet for every woman🤣. Both books will explain why we feel the way we feel, which is a foundation/understanding as to why we pursue this adventures life. Why kids do things at age 5, why boys behave a certain way at 15 and why you will divorce at 50. Be Reckless and follow your Bliss, Wish you good health Jean-Pierre

No... a beautiful journey from a perspective rarely seen. As a surfer where it has been my lifestyle for over 50 years, you took me back into a space of the beauty of all that this incredible sport encompasses and its integration in the journey of my life , your story touching my soul with memory from the very first wave to where I am now.

This has been what exactly my heart was feeling. I am a beginner surfer who doesn't know to swim. The fact that I'm don't know to swim stops me.from learning to surf. I crave to be free and ride the wave of my life, cuz I know that one wave can change me in ways I could never imagine. I fear ! I fear! I fear ! I compare, I see myself not as good as the others, I think I'm too old to learn to be a competent surfer. I think it's not my cup of tea. But there is.one tiny voice which says "STOP JUDGING". Listening to that inner voice, I have been watching videos that help me connect to water and not fear. Go long story short. Thanks for the beautiful, pure hearted video. It took me one step closer to my desire to surf!

Wow, amazing movie, i was there one day, and in the lineup i saw this blonde girl that i did not know at the time, but i quickly realised she was the best there, she was catching all the waves, because she could read them before anybody else, so since i suck and am a beginner i just stood there trying to understand how she was doing it, hopefully i wasn't too much annoying and in the way. Now, watching this movie, i recognise this girl, she's Charlotte van Berkum and i smiled so much, because i recognised her instantly. I will make treasure of all of the things that i saw pros do live, and can't wait to go back surfing. I'm in the process of getting a full remote job so i can move where the ocean is... Thanks for this movie!
