To the dad: you did a lot more than get her comfortable in the water - you helped her get comfortable in the world. In supporting who she is, you gave the greatest gift a father could give his daughter.

You'll never find something you're not looking for. Some of these people were blessed to be born into their true calling, some found it through happy coincidence and others had to find it the hard way. Everybody walks their own road in life. You can give up but never give in. If something's not working for you, ditch it and find something that works better. Don't be a bystander to your own existence. If there's something you want in life, you have to go to it, don't wait for it to come to you.

@Pedro Ivan Sanchez The trick is to acknowledge the role fear played in your life to keep you safe and alive. Fear serves a vital purpose. Then realise that the adults around you taught you, falsely, that fear should be a constant state to keep you locked in. So, existing in a state of fear became a daily habit that you have carried around with you. Consider if constant fear is really needed in the life you have now. Are you safe now? Is your life still entirely dependent on unsafe and fearmongering adults? Can you take care of yourself and make your own life decisions? If so, constant fear is obsolete. Fear became embedded into you; it is not part of who you naturally are. Fear is an emotional and physiological state that effects our thinking. Fear is definitely not your identity. You are the life inside the cage of fear. Once you feel the distinction between yourself and fear, it becomes easier. You can strengthen your sense of self by exploring sensory things, and environments, and movements, and learn what you enjoy, and allow yourself to experience those things. What has value and meaning to you? You have just as much right to enjoy your life as anyone else. Of course, as long as you aren't harming anyone! If you are not, you can have a clear conscience. You don't need to live contained in the old house of fear anymore. You don't need it now. The life inside that house is you. You have the power to just go to the door, walk out and reclaim your life as rightfully yours. You have served your sentence for crimes you didn't commit. Like a bird in a cage with the door open, it is up to you to realise you can just fly out and free. This planet, including the oceans, are your natural home, and you belong here as we all do.

If you die tonight, do you know where you're going? Did you know that Jesus Christ is THE only way to Heaven and He loves you?
Through Him, God offers you a FREE gift - forgiveness. All you need to do is repent, turn away from your sins and evil ways,
from now on put your faith completely in Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him.
      Biblical explanation of the Gospel:
God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why
we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go
there. (Matthew 12:30) ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not
gather with me scatters.'' He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteouss, but
rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). God gave us free will and since Adam
sinned in the garden, sin is the nature of our flesh and we ALL have sinned. (Romans 3:23)
The law demands death to those who sin (Romans 6:23).
For someone to be justified before holy God they have to be sinless, that's why everyone need Jesus Christ
for He lived a sinless life.
None of us are good in God’s eyes, because for God good means moral perfection. We all
have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us
are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is
guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10).
Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16)
We aren’t saved based on our good deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith.
''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins
(past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him.
''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15)
''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19)
Repentance is a turning away from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8).
Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin.
While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6)
If you have repented and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually.
(John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)
You are born again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)
''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7)
If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will desire righteousness -
to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God.
You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace
revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son.
''Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.'' (2 Corinthians 5:17)
''For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.'' (Eph 2:10)
You will have a testimony - of what your life had been before and how has it changed now when you have surrendered it to Lord Jesus Christ.
As a declaration and affirmation of your faith in Jesus Christ, get baptised in water because He commanded us to do so.
In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.''
''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19)
''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41)
''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body,
but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21)
''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4)
''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God,
who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12)
Please get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left!
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’’ (Mark 13:32)
Get to know Christ through God's Word - Bible. At first I recommend reading Gospel of John and book of Romans. God bless you!
Jeremiah 29:13 - ''You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.''

I've just returned from a surf trip after being out of the water for over ten years. I was suffering with deep trauma so I bought a custom board from a local shaper which in itself was exciting and hit the local beaches. A week later I had a visit from an old friend that I had introduced to surfing 35 years ago and even explored unknown breaks on tropical islands with 20 years ago. Well now he has always remained a hard core grommet and lives for the waves in a place that offers a lot bigger surf than my local break, it didn't matter he drove us down and we test drove the new board. He returned home 4 hours south of me and a few days later he messaged me with the departure dates for an up north trip 12 hours away, where we would encounter those golden tubes we shared in the 90's together! Well I returned last night after surfing my heart out for ten days and swagging it out under the stars. Such an epic trip, totally rejuvenated with a new perspective on life. Immersed in the ocean one never loses sight of the horizon. Bless you my friend and the ocean, between the two you have saved one soul from drowning on land. Thanks for reading and splash on yo ;)

I think it’s dangerous to want such a connection to nature, and I love nature don’t get me wrong, I’m a borderline hippie. But it’s almost disrespectful to our species and to nature itself to want that connection with nature but neglecting to remember the fact that nature doesn’t care about us. It’s a dangerous and unforgiving force, as much as it is beautiful.
I think that’s why humanity is so beautiful, we’re the only species that evolved to fight and continuously overcome nature, we build communities and shelters and technology like no other species has, in order to get out of the elements. I think it’s a beautiful thing to be out in the water and outdoors in general but never forget that nature is not a friend to any life form. Always respect and fear it as much as you admire it.

      @oceanbreathyogawellness4487 3 роки тому +2

      My Dear Watson
Ummm... where do you think you come from? You are made out of the very elements of nature. It took the very existence of nature to form the cells that gathered to make you.
It is not about getting too close to nature, there is nothing dangerous about it is about remembering we are part of the whole cycle. Once we all remember that then things will come back into balance.
There are laws of nature for a reason and we are the only ones breaking the laws. As humans we definitely have an opportunity to live beautifully. But "overcoming" nature?....That is the quickest surest way for nature to decide we are no longer needed because we break the balance.
Chances are you are simply trolling which is why I am not giving you the pleasure of a direct reply. If you aren't trolling and actually believe what you said, I honour that you have a perspective, but may I suggest you do some research on nature and our part in it? It really is time for opinions to be spouted at reality whithout wanting to do the work of truly knowing something.

Suggesting the shark and she had a "moment" and her defiant aura subordinated the shark? The sharks are apex in those water and if it wanted to it could've shredded her. I'm not trying to throw shade but... any sharks experts here?

I was raised in Hawai'i, and the one thing that I can always remember so clearly is the beaches and the ocean waves. When I was in school, they made us swim in a pool, and I could never quite get comfy, but the days we would swim in the ocean, I was like a fish in the water. When I moved to Washington, it felt as though that channel was closed off from me, and I would sit in our city apartment, 70 miles away from the ocean, and think of what I was missing. A year ago, I moved to one of the islands of Italy, and that love came back so strong. I live two miles away from the ocean, and every day I just want to walk there and never leave. Watching this has only made that love grow stronger. I may not be a 'fish person'; however, I don't think the ocean will ever leave my heart even though there are times where I am not able to be in it. Thank you for the video.

You just put to words everything that I feel about the ocean. I am also not a fish person but being away from the ocean, constricts everything inside of my heart.
I can hear the call even here in the city where I live that requires me to fly 1 hr and 45 minutes to get to the Persian Gulf and it makes me so homesick.

This morning I saw my sister for the 1st time in 2 months, remembered our parents, gone long ago, had lunch and chocolate cake in a beautiful cactus garden and remembered to be grateful for one more day. Your film is a love letter to gratitude, to the ocean that was my home, church and cradle for so many years and the place I most long to return to like family. One day soon. I sent the link to your film to many people today who I wish health and gratitude for in my life. I hope it touches a place in their hearts like it did mine. Many thanks and happy birthday!

Thank you so much for this. My beautiful 91 year old mom is in ICU today. I am waiting for a Hospice to call me and discuss end of life plans. I truly needed something transformative to help take my mind off of this. Your beautiful movie did exactly that. I had peace, as if I too were in the ocean riding the waves and communing with nature. Thank you.

Amazing people, amazing stories and amazingly told and shot. I swear I saw this or something very similar on Netflix a year or so ago but maybe it just also covered some of the same people. Beautiful.

I learned to swim in the ocean in Guam when I was 4 at the USO beach. Best year of my childhood was going every day with my mother to the ocean. She's been gone for 20 years now and I"m 65 and I need to find an ocean soon to remember. This doc was true beauty and inspiration, strive on , your work is important.

Being in water feels like coming home. For me, it's the equivalent joy and relaxation of receiving a hug from someone who truly loves you unconditionally.

My hubs was absolutely born half fish. He isn't content unless he's been offshore. It is definitely part of who he is. I love the program in California. Everyone should be donating what they can to that organization, from surf board, to skateboard, to dive shops, to people just with extra time on their hands. Whatever they can give, they should to those kids. They are the future. And especially when you are little, if one person takes the time out for you, to tell you how special you are and to help build your confidence in smthg you love, that is what life is all abotlut and part of what God intended for us. Great video! Liked and subscribed.

Awesome! Brings back so many feelings and memories of the years I spent chasing waves to emmerse in the rejuvinating waters. As well as the years I spent pulling people from, for them, her deadly clutches. For me it was sharing my joy of being a part of something untameable.
The ocean is the freedom our lives don't have. I miss it so very much. As soon as this stupid lockdown stuff is over my halted plan to go is the first thing my family and I are doing.

This was absolutely breath taking. Every story was so deep and personal, everyone sharing a common love for the ocean and respecting it. Gorgeous footage, with positive messages. Saving this one. Thanks for sharing.

Ray Collins is just as good of a wave photographer as Clark Little in Hawaii. Came back to this video to look at his work, great film overall. "My job is open up peoples eyes that are blind to the power of the ocean"... love that

With Navy underwater demolition team member as dad, I was swimming before I could walk. I got into scuba as early as my age allowed. Diving nw Washington i found myself being pulled deeper with adventure after adventure with sharks, octopus, seals, sea lions, orcas an more diving for marine labs. Changed my life! What's your saying is really coming home with me, thanks!
