Took mine to a shop to install and they couldn't take off O2 sensor , they beat it and heat it and they broke it. Made me pay for the sensor +$145 on 22 ST. And the experts managed to mess up my flex pipe , I made them pay for that $167. Right on dude good content.
Dude that’s wild I’ve done a lot of down pipes some spray lube is all that’s needed one time I did have to break out my pipe wrench but that’s about it. Haven’t ever broke one or damaged one getting it off to where it wasn’t reusable.

I had the same issue with the nuts that came with the downpipes not fitting the bolts for the downpipe bracket. Hopefully Jason gets that figured out.

Me and my teenage sone just did plus Lethal Performance flex pipes. What a pain in the as$. Don't use GEARWRENCH E22 sockets. The walls are too thick and won't fit on nuts. We did in garage in 10 degree weather jacked up about 2 feet on stands day 1 we disassembled and day 2 we put it all together. No Hurry.

No, you don’t need a tune after installing downpipe’s brother
I love the sound of the CVFab catted downpipes with the 3" thermal R&D. Is there any risk to turbo or engine damage with this combo while leaving the vehicle stock tuned? We're getting a 2025 ST and from the sounds of it the ECU will be locked. So unless it gets cracked we wont be able to do much but the sounds of those turbos with the CVFab downpipes and the 3" thermal R&D are just too good to pass up. Do you think Ford would void warranty on turbos or engine doing this even without a tune?
No risk. However, your Ford dealer may disagree (and they'd be wrong). Technically they have to prove that the DP and exhaust caused the issue.
You could check with the service manager. If they are weary over the downpipes maybe ask if having them installed there would help the situation. The exhaust obviously will not cause any warranty issues.
No it won’t void your warranty I’ve even heard of some ford dealers installing the parts for customers but of course it’s not cheap lol

@@HoustonSpeedFreaks You don't have any concerns jacking up the center front on that crossmember? Ford indicates the pinch welds being the only safe places to jack.

Any alternative if I got my aftermarket mid pipes welded to the exhaust and stock downpipes

The 02 spacers… do you have to use those?
Yes, I’ve seen many people throw a code that don’t use them

So after 3 hours of trying to get this project done I realized the cv fab sent my downpipes with outlets that are 1/8 in larger in diameter than the stock downpipes. My thermal r&d mid pipes don’t even fit
Cvfab responded by telling me to cut 1/2 off the outlet of the downtime. Midpipe still doesn’t fit all the way and can’t install it. Seriously a trash design. wtf

Hey Travis. I had my Doenpipes installed. Same as these the CVFab. I have my trusted shop
Instal them. They also did my tune. I've noticed though upon start up I will hear a loud rattling noise behind the drivers side muffler. And sometimes when I stop and break it will happen. This noise. And then it goes away. Have you experienced this? Only happened after the downpipes were installed
Are you still stock exhaust because if so, the OEM mid pipes I have a tendency to break and rattle. I see it happen a lot too, especially after people add down pipes on the stock exhaust
@ nope, I have thermal 3in, cvf pipes and intercooler, and tuned. I looked on the Facebook group and people also said they noticed the same thing I heard. For some reason I can't comment on the Facebook page. So I can't get my questions answered.

That’s the transmission vent hose just tuck it back up there if it falls down 😁
What size swivel socket are you using on the downpipe nuts?
1/2 extensions and a 1/2 swivel 😁

Were the pinch welds damaged in making this video ? I have the same jacks and it's bending my plastic , i do have rubber protectors on them but still how do you do it ?
No sir, the pinch words were not damaged in the making of this video. If you place them perfectly you’ll have no issues 😁

Yeah I mentioned it in the video and the owner is well aware 😁
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks ohh got ya! Just had my rear main seal and oil pan replaced under warranty. So my eyes went straight to leak lol good job though on the install. Love all your videos keep it up 💪🏼
@pyro1284 yeah it’s a really common leak on the explorers unfortunately I see it on a lot of them
@@HoustonSpeedFreaks I had it on mine, but I cleaned it up and it hasn't returned. I think it was front diff fluid from the FADA leak, which I had addressed a few months ago. Since it's a common issue, maybe the leak is usually old front diff fluid.
@@jungwoo4667 had that happen to mine as well. diff oil drained all the way back there, thought it was oil pan. Ended up replacing the FADA with the new version (no actuator), cut the connector and reprogrammed it, been running great ever since.
Safety glasses or a face shield to keep all that crap out of your face. This is also the point where you suggest the ZL1 lift pads.😁

So why catted and not catless down pipe? What is the diff in the st? Why because I never see anyone install catless

You should be wearing eye protection. Especially with dirt and rust falling and definitely when spraying penetrant oil. You only have 2 eyes you have to protect them.

For the down pipe bolts it’s an e22 deep socket I cover it in the video 😁

I think you mean EP22 and not DP22
What is the purpose for this install?
The after market down pipes are a lot less restrictive and flow much better than the oem. Thus freeing up some horse power

The worst project. Had mine at a high-end shop. They actually refused to do it and sent it to another shop. 600 for the install. The shop that ended up doing the work said it was one of the most aggravating projects they recently done.
lol it’s not easy and definitely knowing how to do it and having the right tools is the key to getting it done. I’ve gotten it done to about 1.5/2 hours

@@HoustonSpeedFreaks What kinda issues do you think i'll run into doing the DPs on my 50k mile ST? My DP bolts to the midpipes were very rusty. I think I might break the hardware on the turbos.

@ unfortunately no. We were at it from 9am until 3pm. Finally gave up and just installed awe exhaust. I’m going to have to pay a shop to install downpipes.
That stock pipe is so ugly.. its like youre a surgeon extracting a tumor.
