I just made this. Another winner! I've made 6-7 recipes from your videos so far and every one of them has been the bomb.
This is like the Texas sheet cake my mother made throughout my childhood, except she covered the hot cake with marshmallow fluff so that it melted into a smooth layer, then it was topped with a boiled chocolate frosting and pecans. She made the cake in a half-sheet pan so it was fairly thin. Perfect layers of cake, marshmallow, and a fudgy frosting!
This is one of my favorite cakes. So moist and sweet and delicious. It is named after the mighty, muddy Mississippi. I always turn off the oven, put the marshmallows on the cake, put it back in the oven for about 2 minutes, then pour the frosting on. Yum yum.
My mom made this every year for Christmas. Except she used marshmallow fluff

A blast from the past. A cake from my youth. Popular in the 70s and/or 80s.
Made this today for a moms group and had folks asking for the recipe afterwards. Super easy and my kids loved helping me measure the ingredients. It was really yummy and came together quickly. Great recipe. My daughter who is funny about chocolate likes it. After putting the marshmallows on I threw it in the hot oven for a min to help melt the marshmallows. It was so good!!

I have eaten a Mississippi Mud Cake before, but I have never seen how it is made. I feel like I get a small heart attack every time John slides a bowl or scale out of frame. There needs to be an April Fool's Day episode with breaking glass sound effects added.
I'm always nervous too when he slides stuff away from him. His island must be wider than we can see, so there's plenty of room for things to slide without falling off the edge. It seems like he really enjoys sliding things out of the way 😁
