Delish! I made this cake yesterday to celebrate the Feast of the Ascension and it was so wonderful. Love the dense texture of the cake. The only thing I did differently was to sprinkle some Maldon salt on the finished frosted cake. It really made the flavor pop and gave it gave it a lovely sparkle.
When I was in college in Texas I knew these two black girls you’re from Mississippi and they made that one night and I beg them for the rest recipe but they never give it to me. I said it was a secret. I found it on UA-cam. I hope it’s the same thing because it was so good.
