just bought 4 sets of the Krux kingpins. and I have a love affair with JB Weld. making 4 sets of trucks inverted - thanks so much for sharing this!
Brilliant idea to use the grub screw to stop the new kingpin from getting loose. In the old days there was another nut that tightened onto the truck baseplate, but this is a much better way to do it….Resoect!
After watching this, i realized I had all the supplies in this vid. I followed all the steps, and had ordered in a grind king reverse kingpin and got to impatient waiting for it so I ended up just flipping the stock kingpin in my stage IV’s and used the tap screw method and honestly I’d be surprised if no one else hasn’t already done this before me. I can’t be the first.
Awesome slappy skills. Just throwing it out there, the grublock screw isnt necessary since the JB Weld is holding the nut in place, just using some blue loctite 242 on the kingpin will prevent any loosening.
I have knocked them loose in the past without set screws. There necessary in my slappy life👍🏻

i love inverted kingpins on indys, i have some stage 5s with grindking kingpins. the top of kingpin is below the axle. been almost 40 years and still nobody makes a better inverted kingpin than grindking

Sweet! I tried something similar with the Walmart trucks and managed to make the work lol but the axle bent because I'm way over 200 lbs 😂, but I really like the idea of putting a set screw, I'll try it on my Indy's since I am getting a lit off hang in my king on lately
Sweet! Been riding the Dragons in 54 for a while. Big change switching from always riding 50. They are a little on the soft side and don’t quite slide like 101 wheels on nice concrete. I can’t wait until Andy’s Nano wheels are eventually made in 54. I want to see what Dragons in 97a feel like.

great video love the details. love the ADOLESCENTS font you use haha. That block typewriter font! Sick board, sick setup, sick slappies. I have a couple down low kingpins from Krux just been lazy to put em in. You're the only one doing that
"set screw"; in the baseplate. Is that require for down low kingpin? Seems like a ton of work and I'm gonna needs multiple tools I don't have. Is the set screw mandatory for Krux DLKP? Is the JB Weld mandatory? I'm a big guy like 250 6 ft 3 so I abuse trucks, bushings, non flight decks, etc, lol!

This is mad over the top, I just wedged some slim pliers in-between the nut and the bottom of the baseplate to stop the nut spinning while I tightened it together and it worked fine, literally took less time then this whole video
the purpose of this isnt to tighten the kingpin its to keep it from untightening lol.

Wow , that's a lot of work, I wouldn't be able to do it by myself. That's rad tho. The durometer of the indy red bushings stage 11 is 88, for red bushings stage 4 the dirometer is 90. I also know from personal experience with them, that the red bushings stage 11 are a little taller than the other indy bushings , I have never understood why, that's why they feel hard although they are actually soft.
