This band are amazing. Just discovered them thanks to a Steven Wilson reference. Can’t wait to back catalogue them! One or two negative comments on this thread.?? Cmon give these guys a break, they really need our support and praise. Just proves that there is still great music around if you just seek it out. Enjoy and treasure them pleeeze.🙏
Still as fresh as the first listen. True musicians showcasing their talent, wit and how to hold an audience captive for hours. They deserve more exposure around the world and galaxy 👽
I can't believe how much digging it took to come across IQ on UA-cam. At least, having missed all of their music up until this point, I have an incredible discography to listen to for the very first time.
IQ are like Camel in the 70s. The best outfit currently operating but flying well under the radar and never getting the exposure they deserved, but which was conferred on inferior bands. But you could say that about Arena, Pendragon, and even Marillion, as well as a myriad of other brilliant prog bands. It's also worth remembering that this brilliant track didn't even make the main disc of The Road of Bones, but was only on the bonus disc.
Fabulous! I started following IQ April 1, 1983 - that March 1983 KERRANG mag - Prog :1973-1983 FISH /Peter Gabe cover, featuring the NEW prog British bands, IQ among them! So now 35 years hence, still a fan, and will see IQ @ PROGSTOCK in Rahway, Union County, New Jersey Oct 5-8, 2018!
A friend of mine introduced me to IQ 14 years ago, and I have always been astounded that they are not more recognised in the mainstream. The musicianship is amazing, always such well crafted songs, and Peter Nicholls has one of the most distinctive and recognisable voices in Rock, even if I hear a song i don't know, I can instantly tell it's IQ. I have seen them several times since then, and I can never get enough!!!!
PF's "One Of These Days" always comes to mind ... This variation in timpanons with drum sticks together, reminds me of something ... maybe my old days in the early bands, so cool 2:28
I'm here because I've just read that their album RESISTANCE was a modern prog-metal masterpiece. I'm not in the scene at all. I'm more into rock, industrial, acoustic and electronic myself, but I loved that song, the live sound was good ! I still buy cd. If I fall on it, might give it a shot.
A1 this track. Can't wait to hear the new album which is out this month September 2019. Few years since I last saw the band. Have to get to Bury in 2020.
At the very end of the studio version of this song, on the Road of Bones album, Neal Durant has brilliantly sampled the moog riff that runs right through the 1973 song Son of My Father by Chicory Tip. Wonder what prompted that?...... Also, included with all the other samples that the band use in this performance, Mike has, strangely, used a sample from Rock n’ Roll Parts 1 & 2 by Gary Glitter ☹️, of all people!
Playback Region B/2 :This will not play on most Blu-ray players sold in North America, Central America, South America, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Learn more about Blu-ray region specifications
Just having my first play on my blu-ray player - audio only....ugh. Still good to hear. (plus my tv keeps wanting to shut off every 15 minutes...so I need to keep alert)
Am I the only one who recognised what the guitarist sing in little parts here and there the fabulous song Welcome to the Pleasure Dome from Franky goes to Hollywood? That is very special. Just hope they don't wear those stupid hats on all songs of the show.
This song was recorded during their special Xmas concert last year... and this track was one of the encores if i remember well. Hence the 'special effects' just for fun during the encoresand not the whole show rest assured!!
i know man, but still i dont like nothing, disturbing my view, i have finally the bluray, is incredible, i cum in leap of faith....., i see the band last day in the same city, in christmas again, they blow me away, specially the drummer, paul cook, heroe of main, what a master, the new keyboardist is a monster, one really virtuoso, but still like more the original, more brain.... and pete holmes, the guitarplayer is god, at the level of the marillion....
You mean Michael Holmes? Yes, he is great. About Marillion, it means almost nothing to me without Fish. Exactly like IQ was nothing without Peter Nicholls.

IQ The greatest secret in music history. Everyone sounding awesome.
Couldn't agree more, brilliant musicians
This band should be so much bigger , real talent overlooked.

What an underrated band...Great! Thanks for sharing!
LOVE this song and play it constantly; it's sobering that it's about a man with literally evil atrocious behavior who can't sleep at night.
A progressive blues in shuffle rythm. Beautiful. "Iq", one the best progressive rock bands in the history. Superb.

The ultimate Neoprog band.. really exceptional as always..

These guys should be so much bigger than they are. One of my all time favorite bands
One of the best bands ... ever!

No bullshiting just good music. ❤❤❤
Nobody is going to mention the beautifully placed Frankie goes to Hollywood samples? Made me laugh!
Most live recordings suck; the production quality here is brilliant!
"using both Hands this evening" brilliant :)
Lel
Unbelievably awesome beyond words!
Outstanding camera quality. Thanks.
Amazing sound effects 😱😱, thanks IQ, from Colombia 😜✌️
PF's "One Of These Days" always comes to mind ...

Doctor Who's main theme, just like "One of these days" (Pink Floyd)
Fantastic! Can't wait to see you guys in Oslo in October :-)
I'll be there too, if there is any way I can get there.

Son of My Father is a Giorgio Moroder original by the way.
@@mikloshoffer1038 : Didn’t know that. Thanks. But as soon as I’d heard this it immediately reminded me of my teenage years in the 1970’s 🙂
awesome
Great
I Love thus Song. Great.
Band introductions to Dr Who! Is Mike wearing Brian May's concert costume from 1975?
Great news!
Please license this song so these guys get paid!
Es una peno no haberlos tenido en Argentina😢
beautiful but i'm still continuing to prefer the martin orford era....sounds of keyboards were fantastic....now they seems to be shut down
Have the blu-ray in, here in the US - player not providing video, but I can at least hear it.
Un très grand groupe.. Mal connu...... Dommage
Brilliant !!
Algum Brasileiro ouve esta banda?
Musik Mafia Brasil :)? mfG Slawi el Polacco .
Gosto muito
remind me Genesis "Mama", "in the cage", "Waiting room"

The only way to watch is using an XBOX console but that one too gave me an error. I heard Toshiba BR players might play it, not sure.
Just having my first play on my blu-ray player - audio only....ugh. Still good to hear. (plus my tv keeps wanting to shut off every 15 minutes...so I need to keep alert)
Nice one! Does it have the Moroder stomp of Son of My Father?
Similar to Pink Floyd's "Sheep» from Animals
Me too !
Relax (Frankie goes to Hollywood) and Rock and Roll (Gary Glitter).
Tout à fait 👍😊
Et la basse de Pink Floyd
This is progressif

Those were actual samples from the FGTH song and if I remember correctly only heard in the live version of this song, not in the studio version.
gercli Relax😉 just relax
gercli : No you’re not 😄
incredible, but i wish wich only wear this stupid barrets and wings in this sons..., if they wear in all songs i breal my copy when it arrive...
Don't you really know the meaning of these "barrets"? The performance was during Christmas.
i know man, but still i dont like nothing, disturbing my view, i have finally the bluray, is incredible, i cum in leap of faith....., i see the band last day in the same city, in christmas again, they blow me away, specially the drummer, paul cook, heroe of main, what a master, the new keyboardist is a monster, one really virtuoso, but still like more the original, more brain.... and pete holmes, the guitarplayer is god, at the level of the marillion....

Not sure about the Franky and the Gary glitter references made in this live track, made me feel a bit uncomfortable, 🤨
Why would the Frankie sample make you uncomfortable?
@@booshting3520 Hi, well I guess the Glitter thing really.
I love it all... What are the Gary references?
The instruments are good the lyrics childish
Ella la McCartney 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
