100% agree, the numbers game screwed me up, get rid of 20 items today and so i did with little regard to the actual item, and so i got rid of things without thinking about whether i needed them or the value the cost and the sentimental , you only need one coat so i got rid of the other 3 coats i had, and that left a very silly realistic amount, it , one coat wasn,t enough. I couldn,t stop until i woke up and thought why am i eliminating my life, it was obsessive and distructive and i was focusing if i die then it was as though i was wiping myself of the earth before my time, that might seem extreme but it was so unhealthy, and i often think its like a new religion. I am grateful for my journey i hate greed, but we are allowed to have things we enjoy and the amount is just a number, i think i am getting a more balanced view of possessions and the word itself minimalism is slighty toxic. Thank you for sharing nice to know others feel the same, minimalism is a useful tool but not a way of life and an absolute only way to live. xxxxx

Yes! Thank you for this, so refreshing to hear! :) I made the mistake of putting too much pressure on myself when it came to declutering, especially after watching tons of capsule wardrobe and minimalism youtube videos. It is nice to hear the pitfalls you went through and how to avoid them. I totally agree with you!

I agree ❤ also it's about Joy! As Marie Kondo says, it brings you joy keep it. It also has to do with the living space you have and how big it is

Tnx for your decluttering video, you've a method that's very relaxing for me, simple, no pressure, that's what I need. I've AuDHD, and one of my 'natural traits' is hoarding, and it's difficult to start a job, and when I'started, I can't stop. Btw, nice vertical labret, modest size, suits you very well! 🕊

Hi, thanks for your comment! 🥰 decluttering is definitely a challenge, especially when you have a habit of hoarding. I happy the video inspired you to take it slowly and relieve any pressure. I feel like that's the best way to reach a goal and sustain new habits for the long-run 🙏 good luck with your journey!

I agree with you. Recently I did a huge declutter and felt great. Although now I feel it wasn't 100% correct.

Why do you feel guilty for things you still own?

I used to feel guilty when i first started because i had an ideal in my mind, and was comparing myself to other minimalists who could live with less things than me. I also had a specific number to hit unfortunately, so i constantly felt like i had too much stuff… i dont feel guilty anymore though, i’m more relaxed now 😌
