If you get a chance you should check out some videos from their Rockpalast '79 concert. Dire Straits were great performing live from the very beginning.
Peter is spot on. J.J. Cale & Eric Clapton. Maybe some Richard Thompson and a dash of Jerry Garcia. Love this song and enjoyed your reaction. I hear a bit of Television as well. But Cale and Clapton primarily. The bassline really moves this track.
Another favourite of mine 🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃🇬🇧🙃
Sends chills actually
He was a big fan of JJ Cale, who was a very underrated songwriter and guitarist who also played and recorded with Eric Clapton...
which jj cale album should I check?
@deepdivemusicreactions His first one Naturally is a great place to start. I'm sure that you won't regret it
He was very refreshing when he first came out, it was a very noticeable at that time.
Excellent
The Fats Waller album Ain’t Misbehavin is really good in that old jazz standards vein.
