Hey Llama, left click once on item, when the "yes/no" button appears (keep the mouse cursor unmoving), just hold enter key, and spam left click. U can gamble so faster this way. And about the inventory auto-distribution: the game looks to the item size (x,y), then look to available space on inventory. It places the item always trying to left the remaining spaces nearest to a square as possible (similar x,y of empty spaces). That's why the third-last one 🗡️ is placed in a different pattern.
1:2000 chance, at 1800 gold each is closer to 3.4M gold on average. When the remaster came out I gambled over 5M to get mine. Getting it as fast as llama did here is super lucky.
I got mine from either Andy or coldcrow (I wasn't paying attention when it dropped) by just killing them everytime I got into a new game it only took like a couple days, probably only killed them like 50 times. Imo it was an easy way to get it that way instead of just doing run after run over and over
It's probability, so another way to think about it is: You have a 25% chance to get it for 1 mil or less, 42% chance at 2 mil, 57% chance at 3 mil, etc. Of course there's the unlikely but not impossible chance that you never get one or you're extremely unlucky and can spend an unlimited amount of gold chasing it. Such is gambling.
The inventory fills this way, because "top down" way would leave vertical 4 slots at the end, while this nice little feature allows to leave 2x2 square, which is better for player (boots, gloves, helmets etc vs staffs and crappy two handed swords...). This game never stops to impress me
Tried this out today for me and a friend for the PS trophy (gamble a unique item). Below are some stats for you guys. Thanks for the vid! At level 11 it is 1607 gold each. Remember it is even cheaper if you have gheeds grand charm or the "Edge" runeword, but the charm will take up some of your inventory space. We did this without those. My friend got it in 4-5 inventories full, so about 20 daggers x 5 inventories full x 1607 gold each = 160.700 gold My luck was way worse: Got it after spending approximately 3.15 mil total. 2.8 mil gold used + approximately 350k gold from all the daggers sold (2.8 mil / 1607 gold each = 1742 daggers. If 200 gold average, 1742 daggers x 200 gold = 348.400 gold)
Not bad. I got it after spending somewhere between 6-7 million gold. Some claim to have spent over 10 million. Your friend was extremely lucky needless to say.
I've gambled three Gulls in D2R. The first one took about 600k at Level 6 (maximum gold efficiency for Gull). The second and third were at Level 11, and took ~10m and ~2m respectively.
Thats nice and all, but it's not like that for everyone. The average amount of gold spent is calculated to be about 2m, but even then there's like a whopping 5% chance that you'll be spending over 10m to get one gull. That's 1 in 20 people. And guess where I'm at? 12.4 million and still no gull. Feels bad T_T I'm not begrudging you or anything, I'm happy for you!
@@SJNaka101 Yep. It's not "easy" aside from constantly mashing buy. My first one took six million. On top of the *two hundred* Coldcrow runs. Countless rare and magic daggers (at 270 MF) but not a single Gull from her.

It's really awesome that they included that switch feature, not only to really show how closely it is based on the old game and to allow for a direct comparison, but also to allow people to use the old style for certain situations like this. One of the only things that I don't like about the Resurrectred graphics is that some of the dark caves are REALLY dark with the new light engine. I don't want to increase brightness etc. too much, because I don't want the brighter areas to become too bright either...

hi lama i have studied gambling for awhile now i am a classic player non-expansion i ussually make low level gambling mules to gamble certain items on classic such as boots for example that can be very extemely cheap to roll 30/10 40 40 40 at a very low level plus i want to mention that these boots seem to be worth ALOT on expansion compared to classic, if an expansion player wanted to force these boots out it would be alot easier to do making a classic mule compared to attempting to roll them on expansion because you lose alot of weak presuf in the pool getting 30/10 9dex 40 40 40 on classic is alot easier then getting it on expansion
You should get your gold find barb. Load up on a MOUNTAIN GOLD. (Even bigger than the last one) and gamble-farm SoJ's with Gheeds fortune and edge runeword. Don't let me down MrLlamma. I know you can do it!
What are other top things to gamble using this tactic ? I'm a 20 year old vet back in the mix and trying to get my gear back up . I'm back to be a peasant for now lol I need a jump start....
Took me a little over 1 mil to gamble my first gull. Then I sold it by accident. The. Another 200k to roll a second gull. And by all means I feel like this was fast
Lucky you. I spent like 5 mil and still didn't get it from gambling (I researched what lvl my character needed to be). Eventually got it farming Coldcrow.
Hey Mr. Llama can we do an "advanced" gambling guide. For example nats set weap is tc 87, qlvl 22. If you try gambling at 27 will you be able to "roll up" the weap like you talked about? It looks like scissor katars start at lvl 24 and if we use the plus 5 it would be lvl 29. The required level to use the item is 79. Is it possible to game a lvl 70 item at lvl 29? Doesn't seem right.
I think I may understand. ilvl=clvl +/- 5. With the elite chance to roll the ilvl for upped scissors is 86. Sooooo following the formula elite = 1 + (ilvl - elite qlvl) * 33 / 100, at the lowest possible guarante chance at 1% you could start finding this is at 91. At lvl 83 you have a .01% chance. Ty for coming to my TED talk.
A question, if you gamble with a char lvl 2, with the +4, the max lvl of the item would be 6 (the lvl of the dagger). Isn't this a better way to get the item, since you can roll a lvl -3 item; so you have a range from 1 to 6, and cheaper, since you're lvl 2 not 11. Or i'm wrong with something?
i did this around launch. i stopped at 10 million gold bc it was way too boring. i just use baba. if you get it after only 1 mill you are lucky. edit: i gambled another 1.5m last night and no dice. I either have the worst luck ever or ppl getting it for just a couple mill are getting lucky.

What you should do with these videos is let people know that this is extremely helpful for offline play it's videos like this that give people the false hope that a gull dagger could potentially give them their next big item this video is good and all but it applies zero to online play I mean you can play online but trading wise videos like this need to be very clear that these items aren't worth anything anymore instead of having people go through all of this trouble to realize after they got it and trying to sell it. I am a fan of your videos however very little can be applied to online, which in the long run can ruin somebody's perspective on the game itself. False hope is a bitch.
Ahem! Just a suggestion.... but Gambler's Grail? Every item that can be gambled gotten from gambling. An excuse to get 99 on a goldfing barb..... maybe 2-3 times over :P
I think gambling could be further improved if they just had several tabs for the different types of items. Rather than having to refresh the page you'd just go to the one with the type of item you wanted.

hi lama i have studied gambling for awhile now i am a classic player non-expansion i ussually make low level gambling mules to gamble certain items on classic such as boots for example that can be very extemely cheap to roll 30/10 40 40 40 at a very low level plus i want to mention that these boots seem to be worth ALOT on expansion compared to classic, if an expansion player wanted to force these boots out it would be alot easier to do making a classic mule compared to attempting to roll them on expansion because you lose alot of weak presuf in the pool getting 30/10 9dex 40 40 40 on classic is alot easier then getting it on expansion
You should get your gold find barb. Load up on a MOUNTAIN GOLD. (Even bigger than the last one) and gamble-farm SoJ's with Gheeds fortune and edge runeword. Don't let me down MrLlamma. I know you can do it!
Hi Llama and Diablo experts! Do you guys know if MF affects gambling in any way? Thanks !
I leveled a character up to level 11 and did this it only took a million and a half to get my gull 🗡️ dagger
What are other top things to gamble using this tactic ? I'm a 20 year old vet back in the mix and trying to get my gear back up . I'm back to be a peasant for now lol I need a jump start....
For those thinking about doing this, know that you theoretically need to spend about 3 mil to find it.
Thank you for this video, stupid me didnt know the gambling was level based vs said item...
Guide works man!! Got it finally!!
I also gambled one in the length of this video. Same number of gambles as Llama.
So griffins req lvl 84 so best char to gamble for it is lvl 89? Also Does the game difficulty matter?
I got two gull daggers off the weapon rack in Nightmare Mephisto’s area. Only a couple runs apart too.
Just finished gambling with a level 11 necro. I don't know if there's something as luck in D2R, but mine was the 444th gambled dagger.
Another useful quality of life feature. Great! :D
Is that a Gravenspine i see? 1:3 scale?
Got mine for about 12.5 million mrllama was very lucky here!
I found it in the Blood Moor and sold it back to vendor so you can all find it easier
I already spent 2,5mil gold and didn't get a single one on PS4. The RNGesus must have a special place for me in his heart.
Does Stepping out of the shop to go back to your box for more money "reset" that probability?
12 million gold deep, no gull. i think its removed.
3M are gone and nothing nice
Are full daggers worth something? I found one and kept it throughout my farming…
Hey llama quick question just wanna verify, best for pit zerker is too only clear bosses right.
Yes! Telestomp boss-pack, howl, zerk + find item and move on to next pack.
Thanks
Got myself a gull dagger and death's sash :P thanks for the tip!
Well. it took me over 14 millions of gold to do it, but I got one!
Maybe it's already been covered I couldn't find it mentioned in the video. What site are you getting that list from? I can't read the web address.
Do you reupload this every x months? It looks so familiar... 😅
Oh a druid from Skyrim, finally
Is it reasonable/economical to gamble for IK's Soul Cage or Bartuc's? :'(
Hooray for improvements!!
I got mine in about 300 to 400k gold. Was super lucky. Now my blizzard sorc has a good off-hand to switch to for killing Meph!
Thanks for the advice… took 3 daggers to get it 😅😂🤩🤩
Had to try this, 10 mil gold and still looking for that gull. :D
Bravo Mr. Llama! You're great!
🙏 🙏 🙏
😊 🖐
i did this around launch. i stopped at 10 million gold bc it was way too boring. i just use baba. if you get it after only 1 mill you are lucky.
edit: i gambled another 1.5m last night and no dice. I either have the worst luck ever or ppl getting it for just a couple mill are getting lucky.
Can you gamble baba ?
@@AngeloLamas you can gamble baba but its much more difficult to gamble than gull is. i was going to offer you my extra baba for free but youtube's bot keeps deleting my reply when i add my discord username. Idk how else we can get in contact to setup a game so i can give u the baba... UA-cam fix your shit!!
Then 725
@@AngeloLamas looks like it deleted it again. i just made a game on NA realm. game name is mrlego and password is mrlego. ill be in this game for an hour or so if u get time to hop in real quick
@@tesla3695 I'm on ps5.... I haven't set up PC yet... grrr
Just gambled away 4mil gold with nothing dropping. On top of 40 original cave runs for it. Not sure I regret any move I've made in D2 more than trying to get this dagger.
Holy shit thank you so much for making this video. Ive wasted so much time lol
So does the clvl/ilvl relationship mean Trang's gloves, ilvl 32, can only be gambled at clvl 28-37, and Gull (ilvl 6) at clvl 1-10?
Cool, im gonna try it out today
Do alts expire on d2r like in vanilla? MuIes needed to be over lev 10 to become permanent.
Did they skip that inconvenience in resurrected?
Good stuff. ty for shearing.
What patch did they re add gambling uniques back into gambling? There was a patch, maybe 1.09? Where they distinctly removed uniques from being gambled. I was so unhappy about that. Or am I forgetting something? Have to forgive me. Was what, over 10 years ago?
What you should do with these videos is let people know that this is extremely helpful for offline play it's videos like this that give people the false hope that a gull dagger could potentially give them their next big item this video is good and all but it applies zero to online play I mean you can play online but trading wise videos like this need to be very clear that these items aren't worth anything anymore instead of having people go through all of this trouble to realize after they got it and trying to sell it.
I am a fan of your videos however very little can be applied to online, which in the long run can ruin somebody's perspective on the game itself.
False hope is a bitch.
I think im gonna cry. I had that dagger. thought it was crap. sold it.
This process takes exponentially longer on console…
Feeling that!
Terribly slow
Ahem! Just a suggestion.... but Gambler's Grail? Every item that can be gambled gotten from gambling. An excuse to get 99 on a goldfing barb..... maybe 2-3 times over :P
So if you wanted to gamble for arach you would have to be lvl 93?
ilvl for nagelring is 10, so i could gamble it at lvl 15? Could be a nice way to search for a perfect one..
After 2 hours of gambling gull dagger on Nintendo switch with a sore thumb and forearm I finally got it spending 170,000 gold.
cant believe this worked so fast i got the Gull in two rounds of gambling
Does it work on Amulets aswell, so getting Etlich at lvl 15 + 6 = 21?
Finally a reason to make a gold find Barbarian.
I think gambling could be further improved if they just had several tabs for the different types of items. Rather than having to refresh the page you'd just go to the one with the type of item you wanted.
No.
@@WardenOfTerra Why?
Gull dagger and Tarnhelm, 2 pretty good starting items you can gamble by lvl 25.
I literally found Gull Dagger in "The Cave" in act 1, with a low level sorc. It fell from a enemy and I barely had any magic find.
it is a lot more likely in drop form. 1:350 vs 1:2000
I’ve found it on the first monster killed by a new character….The new characters first drop was a gull dagger, I felt like I was off to a good start.
I got Gull today and spend less than 200k gold. Very nice.
Took me about 300k, thanks!
