What a realistic scene Doug.👍 I'm subbed to a concrete company's channel and they spend their lives making concrete look smooth and perfect. This is the other end of scale, where you're looking for the opposite result and this looks just as tricky.😁

I'm making a concrete wall with this method. I used foam core as well, but after I removed the forms the wall stuck to the base leaving a papery mess. I had to scrape it off with a #11 blade and clean it up with sandpaper. Thought that was odd since yours didn't do that and I used the exact same materials
Hello there, I'm trying to make a scale model of a concrete seawall which is sloping and has a curved wave reflector on top of it (crest), can you recommend any way to for the mold for it? Thank you!
I learned the hard way that trying to cut foam core in a single pass with a, uh, well broken-in (dull) blade is a bad idea. It's better to take your time and do it right.
Pothole effect, you say? Looks waaay too much like a Michigan road to me. Hey, wait a minute. I think I just found another application fot this technique.....

Would a spray of some mold release help get the sand out of the wall?

Doug, are you allowing each layer to dry before adding next layer?? or is each layer done on top of wet layer?
