      @@swinetrek RW had a lot of people hating him when he left the band. So they went to Court and their Lawyers fought it out. Each got what they Deserved - not just what they wanted. My good friend in the UK is an Entertainment Atty. He also Produced a lot of big name Tours, since the 70's, is very successful & well known. I know how it works, and I will respect your opinion, it doesn't mean I'm going to agree with you or anyone because I can find out the truth.

    I feel sorry for Richard Wright since he was kicked out of the band while the album was being created. He was trying his hardest to get back in. Roger should have let him back in. I mean he was kicked out because of how he couldn’t see his wife and kids and missed them so much. RIP Richard Wright. May he live a happy live in heaven.

      On the flipside, being kicked out of the band and then hired on as a paid musician meant that he was the only member of Pink Floyd to actually profit from the tour - the band itself lost money.

      @@niamunt nah, the lead singer and guitarist used to be Syd Barrett. However he went mad and succumbed to mental illness in the late 60's. They then hired Gilmour as a replacement.

      I feel like Dazed and Confused live in London at the Supershow in 1969 is. Everything about that performance is rock and roll. The clothes, the atmosphere and the performance is absolutely raw.

    Man, I love this song. One of the more underrated songs off "The Wall". Always thought it could have been released as a single, it has that pop quality to it, without that being meant as a bad thing of course. I guess they didn't want people to listen to it out of context and think the lyrics are as shallow as they seem. On a different note, no pun intended, I really like the backing vocals during Dave's solo that are added on live version, the "ooo-aaah"s, if that makes any sense XD

    I was too young to see the Wall live. Must have been amazing. I know this is Rogers baby but how can he sit there next to David with that voice and guitar playing and not be more grateful what he had in David?! What a shame....

      Gilmour didn't just play bass for a few song here and there...he played the whole Animals album, like half of The Wall and many songs before that.

    If you can’t appreciate that this song this band is the best, tied with Queen, then you have no soul, no conscious of the human condition connected through notes, beats, sounds, that lift to the heavens and beyond, it’s an experience every damn time, I’m in the heavens floating, where are you?

    The reason Gilmour is my favorite guitar player is because when you’re playing you can say Im going to play a Gilmour style solo. The man created a style of his own. There are not many guitar players like that.

      I gave the "is there anybody out there?" version of the wall a listen just yesterday and young lust comes from the same audio source because the way Rog says "this is called young lust" is the exact same. then again maybe you meant audio *quality*

    Richard Wright doing a organ solo
    Nick Mason providing one hell of a beat
    All the backing musicians did great too :)
    The background vocalists during the solo were really intense

      Wright was still a paid session musician for The Wall Live, and fans didn't really find out he was fired until the release of The Final Cut in 1983, where his name was nowhere to be found in the album's credits.

    This is one of my favorite songs of The Wall album. The vocal delivery, bluesy guitar riff, funky bass line, the groove of it all... it just screams proto-grunge to me. Maybe not the punk or metal side but the blues side for sure. I love it!

    As amazingly brilliant as David Gilmour is and always will be, Pink Floyd was never the same after Roger Waters left the band, but I am still a huge fan of both of them!

    Davids voice sounds so powerful!! Such an amazing voice! So clean and in tune, but still able incorporate that distortion so well. And, of course, as always, the man couldnt change one note in his guitar playing to make the song sound any better. His note placement is impeckable!!
