sold my 89 sportster to get a start of for mu business...I saw this bike in 2018 in Spain.....an I was basicly sold....this is on my wish list 1000%...saw only good reviews incl this one! LOVE IT! and I havent even drove it yet haha greatings Dane , Amsterdam, EU
Great review. I really enjoyed watching that. I took the BMW Scrambler for a test drive myself. Same opinion as you: really fun to drive. Lots of pick up. Sounds great. Very comfortable. Beautiful to look at.
Do you guys prefer the more relaxed walk around at the beginning or do you like the cinematic slo motion shots we normally do? And do you like the longer videos for the first rides?
Some cinematics are always welcome in my opinion :) And yea the long videos are great man, you can talk about so much stuff and we get a detailed impression of the bike!
haha ok cool...I kinda prefer the cinematic shots as well. And yeah when I do a first ride and review I always have so much to talk about I think its nice to keep the videos a little longer.
since its a test ride and not my bike, I don't ride them super hard. The dealer's are nice enough to let me take these bikes out to film videos and I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me riding like an ass :)
At the 6:30 mark you mention it doesn’t hold a line as good but it seems like you were in a high gear low rpms and clearly not at the right throttle input. Did you try maybe dialing it into a turn proper?
I enjoyed your review on the bike, Jaret! I think that bike has wicked cool sounding exhaust! I really can't wait until Christina can get her bike, and you both can do some motovlogs. Anyway, keep up the good work!!👍👍
I really enjoy the the build series that you do these days but, you should definitely do more of these reviews also. You definitely have a talent. Great review!
You need to compare the Ducati Scrambler! I Test rode one, fell in love and bought one. Purchased a 2015 Scrambler Urban-Enduro. What a Bike!! I still love BMW but that Ducati is something else. Great ride and review BTW!
I really like my sporty S1000R, but I could seriously see this bike as a 2nd one. It's got a really cool style to it. I like the aluminum looking finish paired with the brown seat. I think it would pair nicely with the BMW San Diego jacket.
You definitely need to take the Triumph Thruxton R out for a comparison to this. Great bikes, I really think you'll like them. Sporty with some character and spice, but comfortable for longer rides and maybe some sport touring, :)
as it is easy to ride .... do you think it is a good option for a first bike? esp for a person who doesn't want to waste time and money on a small bike
I just love this Bike It's My Dream to own this Beast thanks Jaret for uploading this video it's my favorite seeing my Dream Bike riding by you🙌🙌🙏🙏thanks
it's a 1200cc so there will be a lot of punch as the engine is the same as the GS1200. Said about it shaking b4 dude cool isnt it, most fun I have had on a bike doing legal speeds!
Love these sort of vids and track vids. quick question Is having 3 eggs a day bad for you my parents say they are what do you think. Also, how many scoops of protein powder do u have per day
How does shaft driven bikes compare to chain driven for you, can you feel differences, I read their is a 33% power loss with shaft driven bikes but they are more reliable and require less maintenance
I felt like it had plenty of power...to be honest I'm not sure I could even tell a difference between chain or shaft...I have heard they are more reliable and require less maintenance as well.
I have tested the bike with some Dunlop tires, it was not great to handle somehow and the bike I have road tested had 3,000ks on the clock already. Lack of grip felt like the front fork was falling in every corner, not a pleasant feeling. The pressure was all good so I put it on the tires. On the previous video I watched the tester said the Metzeller are horrendous for reasons that seem quite similar. You guys in the US have them on out of the factory by default I understand. I have only had Dunlop, Michelin and Pirelli on my other bikes before. Dunlop never made it for me, always made the ride very uncomfortable. The Michelin Pilot Road 2 were great especially on my old Yam BT which has a similar rear train as the 9T, quite heavy. It behaved great and get the torque through to the road instantly. The Pirelli Angel worn down a tad faster but very good grip too. Very happy with both in all weather conditions. So, has anyone tested the 9T with other tires than the Dunlop and Metz? Any thoughts or recommendations? Great video, thanks.
Nice video I would like to see more of a walk around and some more facts/attention to detail. The torque is 88 lb/ft (or 119 NM).... not 80 or 90 NM. Also, you felt the suspension was soft ...which is fine ..but you should research the suspension more and share the fact the suspension is adjustable and show where the adjustments are: pre-load adjuster under the seat and damping adjustor screw on the lower end of the shock. The Ohlins is worth the research. Keep up the videos and thanks for asking for feedback.
right on appreciate it! I actually don't go into as much detail because I figure you can read all of that stuff on BMW's website. What you can't read is how it feels from a riders perspective so thats why I tend to focus more on that kind of stuff.
Ok, fair enough. But if going to share details, work to get them correct. IMO. Guessing doesn't work.... for me anyway. Thanks for the reply. Like the channel.
Jeff Burns yea you're right. Normally when I guess I like to search for the exact stat and put it up on the screen but just missed it on the torque this time. 🙈
will you do a review on the mv augusta brutale 800? i just bought one today. its a beauty. if you liked the 821 you will fall in love with the brutale 800. let me know!
oh that's a shame! if you EVER get a chance to do it. it's probably the best middleweight backed bike out there right now and not a lot of people know about it
The bike is clean ...not a fan of the analog speedometer but the accents and that leather seat look dope! you should have taken a detour to New kingston Deli and shown your fans the best deli shop in the local area lol....👌💯
I haven't lived there since 07' but we used to go everyday after basketball/football/track practice when we were in high school. it was right around the corner lol
haha yes sir, Bixler actually started his first year of track coaching my sophmore year :) I just went back to see him the other day. He is still there coaching :)
that's wild he used to kill us with sprints lol he was the real mvp my homeboy Juan still goes to see him often. It's crazy bro bc I just happened to see your vlogs and we are from the same area lmao
Yea nice review Jaret now you are infected, lol. I love my R1150R I recently traded for, and if I get a newer BMW it will be the one you rode. These Roadsters are really the best ones , better than Sport, cruiser, or touring in my opinion. When I lived in NJ I did love riding around Eastern PA. Now I live in Knoxville and the roads are great in any direction. I’m alive and in heaven
So everyday I go and walk 6 miles for exercise which mostly no issues. Drivers not paying attention and almost hitting me is an issue so is my tunes dying in the middle of it. I want to start running it but every time I try I'll do the walk 10 yards jog 10 yards thing and after the third jogging segment I'm completely gassed. Do you have any tips for how I can improve my lung capacity and be able to run the full distance?
The biggest issue I see with people not being able to run for a mile or more is they start out too fast. Make sure your pace is slow enough and you should be able to run much longer. Also, running is a very mental thing. You often feel like you're completely out of breath but you can usually keep running much longer than you think :)
I've only seen it in videos but I think it actually looks pretty good except for the front headlight section. I'm going to head over to our ducati shop this weekend for a closer look so stay tuned :)
The tarmac in the US must be different to here in the UK, ours is hard, so we have to wear protective clothing. Can't believe how many folks ride in t.shirts over there. 😲
I have an BMW S1000XR and although it is a great bike, but feel it lacks character and to power for my taste and skill. Now torn between the R1200r, r9t, r9t scrambler, and the the triumph thurxton r.
Glad YT brought me here and I could learn there is a town with the name Mechanicsburg which is a cool name and it looks like nice rural European areas. Oh and your girl has a very nice nose.
love this bike. I just finished sitting on this bike in the dealership and I can't wait to buy one
The sound of this Bike has so much character!
That´s german engineering bro :D
Greetings from Germany
Dem kann ich nur zustimmen :)
Ach Du sprichst auch Deutsch? Cool :D
yeah coming with a full titanium acrapovic exhaust is kind of insane haha
The S1000rr is so nice too, you should give it a try
I’m going to get one of these one day.
Really enjoyed the vid and commentary unlike most motorcycle ride vids! subscribed!

I want to add this to the stable with my Dyna....great video, Jaret!
thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I think it would make a great second bike for you for sure.
Great review. I really enjoyed watching that. I took the BMW Scrambler for a test drive myself. Same opinion as you: really fun to drive. Lots of pick up. Sounds great. Very comfortable. Beautiful to look at.
right on glad you enjoyed it and sounds like we had a similar opinion :)
I just watched this video to see the chick.

well I'm certainly not a professional reviewer...just a guy who likes motorcycles and enjoys sharing my experience with you guys :)
Bwahahahaha!
Very nice video . Preparation and explained is Excellent 😊😎👍
Glad to see that you appreciate bikes that aren't so narrowly focused.
At the 6:30 mark you mention it doesn’t hold a line as good but it seems like you were in a high gear low rpms and clearly not at the right throttle input.
Did you try maybe dialing it into a turn proper?
Thanks Jaret for this awesome real world review! It made me even more convinced that I need to have this bike in spring 2018!
hello, how tall are you?, i´m 6ft, i havent go to the store, but i gues the urban gs has taller seat , but this scrambler has on/off abs, right?,
Love this video and the BMW R nineT Scrambler!
I enjoyed your review on the bike, Jaret! I think that bike has wicked cool sounding exhaust! I really can't wait until Christina can get her bike, and you both can do some motovlogs. Anyway, keep up the good work!!👍👍
thanks Damien so glad you enjoyed it! And we've got our eye on a bike for Christina so stay tuned!
Hi Jaret.... Loved your review! Probably the best one I've seen on UA-cam. learned a lot from your experience. Thank you so much.
Right on so happy to hear that!
I really enjoy the the build series that you do these days but, you should definitely do more of these reviews also. You definitely have a talent. Great review!

I've just put the s1k in for a service and got one of these to play on while it's in, lovely bike all round
i just fell in love with this bike. this bike is good looking and classy at the same time.
Woaw that bike is a beauty!!!
How do you know when to shift the gears if it doesn’t have a tach? Sorry for any ignorance, I’m a noob interested in riding.
Does the dashboard at least have the fuel indicator?
Love this bike. You need to find some roads with corners - it seems that you only have straight roads over there! The 9T does very well in the hills.
Excellent review. Thanks dude.
Great review. Do you recommend it as a beginner bike ?
Abdulmalik Sagga depends on how coordinated you are. In general I'd say it's probably not a starter bike but it really just depends.
What’s the difference between the scrambler and the heritage?.
Just bought one ! i LOVE IT
Does the dashboard have the fuel indicator?
Can’t wait to ride that thing.

yes thats what everyone keeps saying! Can't wait to ride one.
I love the RnineT but that one I don't like that much. Going to give myself an RnineT on my 50th birthday.
you going to go with the r nine t pure or the racer?
That was a good moment with you guys ;-)
I saw one with polished tank with a tig weld in between i was in love with it.

Does the bike comes with christina 😅

And nobody comments on the obvious in the video. Good lord.

very nice thanks for the review
thanks glad you enjoyed it! How are those panigale's doing?
Going through the archieve waiting the next build series!
Nice one this review convinced me to upgrade after someone went in the back of my Ducati Scrambler. So time for an upgrade :)
Finally, a modern scrambler with minimal sport modes. It will make me feel like I'm riding a motorcycle and less of playing a Gameboy.
How does shaft driven bikes compare to chain driven for you, can you feel differences, I read their is a 33% power loss with shaft driven bikes but they are more reliable and require less maintenance

Would you recommend the BMW R nine t as a beginner bike?
No I don't think i would actually...its a little heavy and turning isn't super easy on it.
I have the same question, did you buy it?
The tarmac in the US must be different to here in the UK, ours is hard, so we have to wear protective clothing. Can't believe how many folks ride in t.shirts over there. 😲
please compare it to Triumphs!
yes I will for sure once I get a chance to ride them!
Beastie old school bike look with a nice note. Keen to see a review on the Ducati 2017 supersport? :)
yes I think I'm going to go check out the supersport this weekend!
Sick ..the bike that's bringing the biggest mixed reviews I mean in the looks department

What kind of gloves do you own?
Love the bike by the way. Been thinking about getting one since they first came out.
