I’m NEVER doing this hair style again even when I used her technique it’s still took me 6 hours to take out only the top part of my hair and what made it even more difficult is because the weave was so madded and the lady who did mg hair did in an so unusual way that i couldn’t even find my braid
I’ve had this style twice & Last time I said I’d never do it again 🥲 the hardest part is finding where your braid is to pull it out. Especially if the locs are wrapped in a messy way to give it a more authentic look. Sometimes it’s best to just pay your stylist to take it down.
I took down my hair w/butterfly locks & had two hanging in the front well that’s when I finally got the hang of it & your video explained what I was trying to say lol. I have soft locs now & the take down process is going to be a breeze 😊
For those of you that are having problems with this method (or doesn’t want to use scissors near their hair) here’s what I am currently doing to take down my locs: I have had them for like two months so the grease from my parts has pretty much coated the lock, making it easy to slip off my hair. I have longer hair so I work my way up from where I think my hair ends and untwist/unravel the lock to make it loose. Once it’s loose at the root and a little bit below, the lock should just slide off. I’ve done like 2 or three rows like this. Hope this helps!! I’ll update this comment if needed.
So glad I watched this before I started the install. I'mma do the thread thru method from the root and not the wrap around with added hair so it can just slide right off the braid cause I don't have the patience! Lol
I wish I found this earlier . I spent 2 hours trying to figure out the best way to take the loc out. And then I just so happened to come across this video when I’m done ?! 😭😭😭 UA-cam is so cruel
Yep. I really like having them, and I kept them for 6 months. The take down was brutal at first, but by loc 5, I figured how to unravel and slide off the breaded loose hair, but some were a bit "tighter" than others at the root. My fear is if I get them again, then that's a literal wrap, they're never coming out, I'm dying with them 😂😅. Note: using a leave-in conditioner mix at the root/base helped.
Glad to see I’m not the only one regretting getting this hair style 😢 I cut 2 braids and it hurts. Never again. This method is still not easy when you get to the back. So frustrating😤
This was a help and a Struggle but just like everyone else- I’ll think twice before getting this hairstyle. My personal hairstylist is my daughter and she didn’t even wanna come take these things out 😔😔😔😔

Thank God for UA-cam and people like you! You’re doing the Lord’s work! Lol..had I known how ugly the takedown process was, I would’ve never gotten these! 😒
Y’all are cracking me up in these comments!!! Listen up! If anybody is in the ATL area, I do soft locs AND takedowns!!! Book with me! My IG is @tiannadcheystylist! Hmu 🤗
I find it easier to cut then to pull to unravel. My faux locs are blonde and my hair is brown so it's easier to distinguish and makes it faster to get it out once you get a down a way that works for you but for sure never getting this style again 😅
I thought this was conmen sense because that's how I always took my hair out ... But i see now this really a issue with people cutting their hair it has to be from rushing.
I saw another video that was easier than this. She started by pulling the braid out at the base of the loc and then cut the loc at the top. It was way easier and faster. Your way isn't bad if I didn't see hers first
Okay but what about the back of the head that we can’t see 😢 it all feel the same . I literally cut my hair doing this method no shade or disrespect I just need answers 😫 cus same , never again
I went to a new stylist because I always wanted individual locs like this. I sat in the chair for 4 1/2 hours (she kept getting on the phone and leaving) head yanked, neck pulled, ear burned. Currently taking my hair out after having it in for 6 hours. The pain is excruciating, it’s so tight on my head my scalp is swollen and bruised, the locs are so stiff they just stick up in the air, I look like Angelica’s doll from rugrats. Never doing this style again, ever! I’ll stick with crochet locs.
Y’all I’m about to cry … this shitt won’t come out my head !!! Idk wtf the hairstylist did but she definitely did not do this right because it’s knotted into my hair 🤦🏽♀️

You can get them out, use a leave-in conditioner or oil to loosen the braided hair at base and root. Give yourself time and grace.

People really struggle to take these out? Butterfly locs would take me 4 to 6 hours to take them out. My hand are tired afterward but I think many are just impatient.
Note to self… look up the take down process before choosing a style 🤦🏾♀️🙄
It looks so easy for her I been on same loc for 30 mins I knew I should’ve got braids
Right like even knowing how to do it it takes too much time especially when I have around 100 small locs in my head 😩never again
😂😂😂 me right now !!
My point rn 🤣🤣
Bruuuhhhh🤣🤣🤣🤣
Never doing this style again
Never ever lol 😂
Same
Said the same thing
Same thing NEVER AGAIN
Same my second time cutting my hair

Right right right. I'm over here struggling! I'm about halfway done now but this should not take this long! The install was so quick!!!!
FR
Thanks to all the commenters, I almost did this style. Not risking it cause I know myself. I’ve already cut my hair twice just taking down box braids
This is nth like box braids it’s way worse
I overly love my soft locs but I knew this day was coming😂 you definitely broke it down. Guess I will start tomorrow 😅
Thank you ❤
Never getting this style again🤦🏽♀️ thanks for the video
This helped me so much!! I was in here taking forever before this now I’m moving and grooving thank you
Yes me too 😂
Thank God for you !!!!!! This is the easiest method ever and you are actually making it easy for people. I really appreciate you !

This looks like a long process. Dreading taking my daughter's hair down😢
So helpful. I’ll never get these again! Omg it took longer to take out than it did getting them done/put in. 😅🤦🏽♀️
Thank you !! Finally the method to take down the “flat top technique”. Can you put that’s in your description so it can pull up more often 🥺
I took down my hair w/butterfly locks & had two hanging in the front well that’s when I finally got the hang of it & your video explained what I was trying to say lol. I have soft locs now & the take down process is going to be a breeze 😊
starting the process let’s go😩 God be with me 😭
The hair style from hell I learn this after 13 hours of fighting 😩😩
Never doing this style again . Not for nothing . It shouldn’t be this hard to unravel the hair or pull your hair from the wrapped hair .
I just started and I cut my hair on the first one. So I switched videos too try again 😂wtf
sister girl you make it look so easy to take them out and as Iam writing you I can not do them this easy lol

I was having trouble at first .. i was cutting my hair and everything!! This video helped me soooo much thank you
God bless you! This is definitely easier than trying to unravel the whole loc
I wish I found this earlier . I spent 2 hours trying to figure out the best way to take the loc out. And then I just so happened to come across this video when I’m done ?! 😭😭😭 UA-cam is so cruel
I’m crying 😭😭😭. Never again. 6 hours and Im not even half way done
BRO SAME I’m getting so frustrated that I had to order McDonalds to feel better 😭
Not McDonald's 😭😭
thanks for sharing this lord help me I have them for the first time and I hope I don't cut my hair
Me too
I guess it also matters how long you've had the locs in. If it's older than 3 months, might be harder to take out like this🤷🏽♀️

When I tell you , you helped me soooo much! All the other videos talk way too much. Just take yo damn hair out and you did just that! Thanks girl!

Thank you so much for this breakdown. This gives me the confidence to try it myself. I love my soft locs, but it's time. I'm gonna start this weekend.
Literally me now. But I still have a takedown appt booked just in case 🤞🏾
Thank you for your tutorial . This is very simple . Just require patience and focus. ❤
I had this style one time two years ago and never again. I loved the style it’s just the take down process was not worth it at all
Thank God for UA-cam and people like you! You’re doing the Lord’s work! Lol..had I known how ugly the takedown process was, I would’ve never gotten these! 😒
😂😂😂😂😂
Currently watching this video with 4 locs done , nope I’m taking them out !!! I’ll do another style 😭
Y’all are cracking me up in these comments!!! Listen up! If anybody is in the ATL area, I do soft locs AND takedowns!!! Book with me! My IG is @tiannadcheystylist! Hmu 🤗
Do you remove other installs not done by you??? I couldn’t find you on IG?
@@dahveeb4135 hey yes I do! I changed my IG name it is @tiannadcheystylist
Is it too late to fly there from Texas cause baby I’m on the struggle bus trying to take these soft locs out.
I was debating on whether to pay my stylist to take it down or do it myself..definitely not doing it myself. 😂
Everytime I get this style I have to watch a tutorial. If not i have the hardest time. So thanks a bunch 🎉
This video just saved my entire life.

Thank you! This was extremely helpful and easy to understand!
I’m glad you found it helpful 🫶🏽
Wrap method works best no cutting at all ❤
Thank you so much. I just tried it and it worked!!! I subscribed 😊
This made me rethink getting soft locs. 😅
I suggest putting oil on your hands first or even misting with water lightly. Those snaps I hear make me sad. Very easy method nonetheless!
Thank you I was having a lot of trouble taking out these locks 😢
Girl I’m never doing this hairstyle every again
Me either 😩🥴
Thanksss so much I really needed this because I was about to died that’s how long it took me by cutting it ❤
Thank you for this video it helped me a lot. I should of just got box braids 😢
This helped me so much! Thanks girl
Thank you 🙏🏾😩 cuz my bday coming and I don’t wanna pay for a take down
I was considering trying this style but NOPE! Thw takedown will frustrate me. Thanks for the post.
I thought this was conmen sense because that's how I always took my hair out ... But i see now this really a issue with people cutting their hair it has to be from rushing.
Thank you beautiful you just save me more days of being played with about someone to take it out
Thank u💕, cause i never got this hair style it was cute to me😍❤️but now I’m not finna get this so it can fuck up my hair😨😩😡
Note to self! “It’s called locks for a reason
I saw another video that was easier than this. She started by pulling the braid out at the base of the loc and then cut the loc at the top. It was way easier and faster. Your way isn't bad if I didn't see hers first
Where is that video?
That sounds more like individual crochet locs than the wrapped ones
Note to self... I'm not ready for this, but happy the back is crocheted into a big cornrow, so hopefully that'll cut down on time... oh goodness 🤞🏿
Thanks for the video ! hope it works for me cus i'v try 2twice and couldn't take it down
This tutorial has helped me so much thank you.
About to try this right now, 😩thank you!
Okay but what about the back of the head that we can’t see 😢 it all feel the same . I literally cut my hair doing this method no shade or disrespect I just need answers 😫 cus same , never again
I was waiting to see how she did the back too 😅 I think you gotta just get help because even with a second mirror, you can’t see closely.
I am gonna take them down on my own idc😂😂...thanks girl 😘
Thank you so much cause I did NOT want to accidentally cut my locs
Thank you so much for this video because every other video was stressful to watch lol but you were really informative and helpful and it works

The first two times I took these down I cut my hair because I thought it was the kinky hair that was wrapped around the loc.
Y’all I’m about to cry … this shitt won’t come out my head !!! Idk wtf the hairstylist did but she definitely did not do this right because it’s knotted into my hair 🤦🏽♀️
Update y’all lmaooo but I spent 8 hours taking out the locs🙃 never again ..
Whewww chileeee 😩😩😩
@@queenalert5497 Whew! I'm terrified to try out some butterfly locs for the first time...🤯🤯🤯
You’re a lifesaver thank you so much ☺️
Thank you this really just helped me take mine out! Thanks sis❤
Ngl, I will never get this hairstyle again, and if I do it’s gon be years till I do ts again cuh it’s so hard to take out😭😭😭
I don't regret having them. Because it is part of our heritage. It is time consuming. But I love the experience. Here it goes😅
Me looking at the comments thinking the same exact thing as I start trying to take down the first loc 😂
Should’ve looked at the takedown process BEFORE I got this.
Just got mine 2 days ago. After looking at this… I regret it! Omg
I really like having them, and I kept them for 6 months. You can get them out, use a leave-in conditioner or oil to loosen the braided hair at base and root. Give yourself time and grace.
U make it look easy mama Imma bouta bald mah head....
Thank you so much for the takedown video
This was really helpful thank you🙏
Thank you for helping me❤❤
Definitely did help though thanks for the video
I just cut all my hair at the root 😑

God bless you!! You really helped meee
I see these comments and now I regret putting these in 💀
