It’s amazing how much encouragement Paul is constantly giving his hearers and someone goes and latches onto one tiny snippet of a thing he said once and attempts to use it to unravel everything else. I had to get out of church so I could remember that I have assurance.
Indeed, and that's why we're big on context around here, especially (but not limited to) regarding the writings of Paul. He would often not only take a paragraph or two to make a point, but often what we know as a chapter or several chapters.
I love it while meditating to have scriptures pop in my mind to clarify issues. I love it too when scriptures pop up in my mind as I listen to you guys. Listening to this podcast, I remembered Jesus said the kingdom is within you. We are not trying to get there; it's within us even now.
Yes indeed, the kingdom of God is already within us. We've already inherited it, and it is truly our domain. It's like how Christ is in us and we are in Him. The kingdom of God is within us, and we are seated in the heavenly places with Him.
I want to let you know that I'm really glad that you fellows do this every week. It's a good message in the world's ocean of awful messages about God. I also think that the (self?) righteous should be careful about judging the ungodly. George Bernard Shaw was a genius. It was he who said: "Virtue is insufficient temptation." Many times, those who appear virtuous have not been sufficiently tempted. Their virtue is Hollywood-wall virtue, propped up with half a dozen two-by-fours and a New Year’s resolution. It’s self-control untested.
I think that was really what Paul's message was in Romans 2, where he had just listed a bunch of ungodly types of behavior in chapter 1 and then told them, "Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things." The self-righteous Jews, who had been seeking righteousness according to the works of the law, thought that they were "in" with God, and that others (mainly Gentiles), who did all those bad things, were "out." But Paul was saying hold on just a minute! Yeah, you've got the law, but you do the same things those others do! You've got no right to judge others.
Corinthians: All things are permissible. Paul: But I will not be brought under the control of anything. The Corinthians were not all that dissimilar from many groups today that promote sinful lifestyles in the name of Christian Liberty.
Yeah, I think that wherever liberty is preached, there will be some who use it to promote sinful behavior. Paul did indeed tell people they were free, along with the caveat that that doesn't mean they should use their freedom as an opportunity for the flesh.
So... I've got a question! Who is the excellent female voice in your openings. She's great and sound absolutely stunning... No sexual connotations or implications in that other than She's great and props to her! How she can do that every week and never miss a beat or screw it up even once is amazing! I don't know what you pay her but it's not enough LOL Give her our love, love ya'll!

Thank you!
Thanks for all your support and encouragement Jb!
Everyone needs to look at what's happening in the Lutheran church right now. Sides have been picked. You guys called this long ago, thank you both.
What's happening in the Lutheran church? I've been thinking about going there. Is there something I should know?

She is someone who Kap once worked with in radio. And we do pay her the exact same amount that we make from doing the podcast. 🤑😄
