I am new in my journey and walk with God. Something lately has been calling to me on a deeper level. I can’t describe it or even began to understand it. I started praying and I have not done that since I was a little girl. I opened up my Bible for the first in I don’t know how long. I have been feeling amazing and well rested. It’s like all my worries and anxiety have been lifted off of me. I can’t explain how to great it feels to know that God loves me no matter what I have done. He will never leave me.

I just finished the Old Testament today, wrapping up my quest to read through the whole Bible! I'm finally familiar with the stories that are referred to in the Gospels and the Epistles and the imagery of Revelation.

During Peters preaching at pentecost, the apostle quoted a verse from Psalm as an old testament prophetic evidence showing that the Messiahs resurrection was predicted by the patriarch David. Referring to that Psalm(a David's Psalm), the context of the verse or all the sentences preceding that verse all the way upto the beginning have the psalmist in mind. And the sentences past that verse all the way to the bottom are referring to psalmists, king David himself. That is the subject of the statements is king David. A thousand years later we are told to believe that peters verse is particularly speaking about the Messiah. Or have the Messiah as subject. One has to hold that it is speaking about king David's own belief in his own resurrection from the dead from local context alone. That is if we take Peter challenge to the crowds to think logically about the verse. Davids statements are as follows "you will not leave your servant in the graveyard nor let his body see decay". The next sentence then says, rather you will let him enjoy pleasure and your presence forevermore. He is humbly saying, in fact tacitly requesting, that as opposed to being left in a graveyard like any human being, his God would allow him to live forever and enjoy pleasures. If we take Peters interpretation(making Jesus a subject), Jesus end up becoming like David in the last sentence that is a common servant hoping for heavenly paradise as opposed to being left in a graveyard. Or the Messiah of chritians sought eternal life like an average religious person. Since this conflicts with other consistent Christian theology, this can not be the interpretation. These suggests Christianity is another Jewish sect built on the teachings of men interpreting the Torah like the Essenes, Sadducces, Pharisees and others.
I have been struggling to understand the "tongues of fire" for so long, thank you for showing me this. The bible is so rich. This has also taught me that having a better understanding of what has happened before whatever book i am reading, will equip me to have a deeper and fuller understanding of what it is that i am reading. Loving the videos and the podcasts, it's helping me understand the bible as I read it.
I was amazed again that as Christians filled with the Holy Spirit we God's holy temple moving out in the world.
God has clearly done a powerful work in my heart. I'm crying just hearing again about the murder of Stephen. On the bright side, God's about to work on Israel again, just like He did to bring them back from Babylon! Praise Jesus our Lord! Hallelujah!
I love that Luke continued the story so we can see the disciples/apostles (and others) still obeying the OT Scriptures (Torah/Law) and observing Shavuot (Pentecost) after Yeshua's (Jesus') death and resurrection.

Wow, you guys resisted the temptation to say that the communal life seen in Acts chapter 2 and 4 was just a "failed experiment." THANK YOU! As one who lives in a communal life himself, I'm so glad to hear someone say that our life together as Christians is the new Temple of God.
