I am from Chennai, India. After 28 years of getting saved I received a call from God to serve him. I quit my job and is about to start. Searching for some advice from seniors in youTube and got this one. Very useful and encouraging 👌 👍 Thanks a lot brothers.
As a young pastor this video did a lot for me I feel like I'm I'm the midst of a lot of this and I am happy to be because I know I will come out on the other end wise enough to make a difference for my flock
Things to know for young pastors: 1. There are attacks from the devil with constant discouragement, and pastors need to fight back with the armor and weapons of God's power(Eph.6, 2Cor.10). 2. Longevity of the faithful service and ministry is the way God brings great blessings, and there are no short cuts. 3. Pulpit ministry is very dangerous for seeking after men's approval, might lead to self-exaltation, vain glory, sin of self-confidence and pride. 4. Remembering Jesus's calling to feed the sheep and take care of the sheep(John 21), pastors got to plant their heart deep down to the congregation which the Lord entrusted in their hands.
"People are not always what they appear to be. I wish I had know that." I should have know that after being a church planter for 11 years, an assistant pastor for 3 years, and now senior pastor. I knew it, but I really didn't know it until some hurt came from people by myself and the congregation had confidence in. It's one thing to have the knowledge but another thing to experience it.
I'm in my last semester in seminary and i'm looking for a church now. This is very helpful to me. I will pass this video to a few of my classmates and get their feedback on what you have just said. Some of this video i have been feeling already. Thanks for sharing this,. Stay Blessed. Mark
I'm a military vet and a martial artist, and I'm an extremely powerful and assertive person, but just like at 0:58, God forced me to stop what I was doing and slow down in order to talk to the more inexperienced with hell people who generally attend churches. I'm retired now at age 32. Been through more than anyone can imagine.
As an ex drug alcohol chaplain etc... now at now 48, my heart goes out to you when you say "been through more than anyone can imagine."and yes, I most certainly hear you. Can I encourage you with these verses 2 Corinthians 4:18. Colossians 3:2. And Ephesians 2:6. These are what pulled me through. Much love, From West Australia.
Your first and only identity should be that your a child of God…pride cometh before a fall….put God before yourself, build treasures up in heaven not on earth.
Ephesians 4:11: "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers". It appears that "Pastor & Teacher" is one office
Even big ministries which we would call mega churches never started off huge and their pastors usually had a long trajectory before getting there. Unfortunately from the preachings alone you wouldn't know it which is a good reason most Pastors who have experience should often talk about the long road of ministry.
I once aspired to be a man like these men. I took many steps along that path. But something felt very wrong that whole time. I couldn't put a finger on it as a younger man. It wasn't till I got older that I began to realize what it was. God is funny. He wants to be the leader of the church. When human being elevate themselves from among their peers and assume spiritual authority, they are fundamentally taking a place that God alone can occupy. If you are taking your own steps on this path, turn back now before it destroys your life as it almost did mine.
I’m not a pastor of a denomination church. So.... if I was to reveal what I wish I would have known long ago it would be nothing like what these guys are saying. Not knocking what they’re saying though. I see good things in there. Some of the things I wish I’d knew are things that go against what my denomination taught. Nobody? No pastors go there? Cool. Maybe they have it figured out.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4
As a street Christian who actually reads the Bible and mostly learns from very old theologians these guys seem so ridiculous.
