I had all on 6 on the top and was in the chair from 8am until 4pm, 4 implants and 2 zygomatic implants, all of the implants were in by 12pm, the rest of the day was fitting the temporary teeth. long day!
Absolutely, and with very little food in the day as well. After its done, you just want to go home and sleep for a week! Most people do not appreciate this side of the treatment.

If you think of how many months or more likely years someone lived with bad or even missing teeth, the thought of going two days without teeth while waiting for a stronger, better set of teeth to be made is a "no brainer". I think I could definitely put my vanity aside, especially if my previous teeth or lack thereof weren't that great to begin with. I can also understand the patient who due to professional reasons etc, could not accommodate the wait, perhaps in that situation prior planning such as vacation time if possible could be a solution. I, as a person who has lived with full dentures and all the hassle that these entail, wouldn't hesitate to agree to go without teeth for a couple of days, if the end result were stronger better fitting teeth than I have now or if I insisted on immediate placement.
if you clench your teeth at night, what do you do with those "naked" implants? Can you make a soft bite guard?
I’ve seen dentist who highly recommend a night guard during the temporary teeth phase.
What many do is make a denture to be worn over not on the implants for me it was 90 days before my implants were loaded with the temporary onto the implants. Mine just turned the denture into the temporary all on 4 after 90 days. I think my implants osseointegrated better this way & I wasn't actually without teeth.
Hello Doctor. I have one question and I do hope you can help answer. Is there such thing of removing too much healthy bone while performing an aveoplasty, causing the patient to suffer from exagerated bone loss and facial appearance looking anthesically displeasing? I do know the area is complex, but imagine the patient is overall extremely healthy, without gum disease, and relatively young, 42. Thank you!

What do you do about patients who have underbites with natural teeth, then come in for all on 4? Is jaw surgery required first ?
Thank you for sharing this situation. Now that I know about the long day without eating I feel it is an ethical practice for the dentist to offer the option to the patient to wait for a stronger temporary implant, especially if the patient is diabetic or has other health issues which require food intake. I would go so far as to say it is a civil right of the patient and the dentist could be sued for not offering that option to do this procedure in a week instead of a day.

I have four missing front teeth now seen four dentist in the uk all gave different advice?!? The cost of implants is too much and some of the dentists suggested a bridge but how do you ever know which dentist to choose?

I have a few questions about the cosmetic side of dental implants
1. After your face change due to the bone loss in the jaw, would bone grafting in the area of that missing tooth restore the faces original shape?
2. Do the all on 4 reserve facial appearance from getting worse due to bone loss?
Most of the time, the people who need this have a collapsed lower face due to loss of teeth and tooth support. So most of the time, there is an improvement.
@@drgurssehmi How about if the person developed a sunken look on the side of the face that has a missing upper tooth but the other half of their face still look normal and full? Would an implant restore that even look or would pulling the other tooth make the face shape even again?
Thats what my dentist did, i was using healing screws for 1 week, before placing temporary set.
How likely is it able to do all on 4s with someone that’s had no teeth in the top jaw for 10 years I’m 34 years old and I’m actually booked in to see you on the 7th of September I spoke to Chelsea yesterday… also one thing to note Iv been on self prescribed testosterone replacement therapy for along time which improves bone density apparently so I’m hopeful

My doctor had me come in 2 weeks prior to have scanning done to fabricate a PMMA temporary before the surgery..I will have 2 sets of temporaries before the permanents are given, because he says most likely the bite will have to be adjusted and they want to make sure the permanent fits as well as possible. Do you agree with this line of treatment?
Yes, there are a lot of ways to do this treatment, PMMA temps are common. Personally, I am changing my strategy for upper and lower cases, where the patients will let me!
Being diabetic also puts physical and emotional stress on the patient when having them in office without food all day.
I went 3 days with healing caps, didnt bother me one bit.

Hi I will have my 4 on one implant top and bottom.my dentist will not screw in my temporary teeth .so it means I will wear the denture for 6 months while waiting for permanent teeth.is this a good idea? My dentist reason because the temporary keep breaking if it screw in .. I hope you can answer if this ok to do that?

One week?! I’m on week 3 of full mouth implants, I’m still waiting for my dentures to come in that i have to wear for 2 months then I get my temporary. I’m 26 years if anyone is wondering lol:p and yes I was awake during the whole surgery.. Friday were top arch and Saturday was the bottom arch

FYi -My dentist uses 3D imaging and prints teeth with a 3 D printer as temporary teeth.
I understand what you’re saying but fortunately the people you dealt with excepted this. I could not go into an office and leave for a few days without any teeth. At the very least I would need some type of aesthetics. Teeth that you can’t use to eat but something that you can put in your mouth to go to work or move around the world. It’s very discouraging looking at yourself in the mirror with no teeth in your mouth. Never mind going out in public
It isn't nice to see yourself without teeth, and a lot of people would agree with you. In some cases, it's better to think in the long term and look for the best treatment outcome, rather than the 10 days post-surgery, where you would likely be swollen and bruised anyway.

I would suggest getting for your office a complete meal powder that has carbs , protein and vitamins in it.....Add honey to the shake ,give to patient when they are conscious post surgery to help give them some life back?
