      It was straight forward. There are positive things in your life you can identify or maybe someone close to you can help you identify. Those things have more value and meaning due to the things we go through everyday that bring us down or that are truly horrible. If everything is good nothing is good. Good has value be cause there is bad. Hone in on the things you love and appreciate.

    When I was a kid my mom told me always have faith, either in yourself, God, or something because faith is what keeps you going when your world is falling apart. When my parents passed away my friends would tell me I was nieve and immature to have faith and hope that everything will be okay. Six years later, I am finishing up my third degree which is my first BA, happily married, and have everything I always wanted. Their lives didn't turn out as well. It is hard but it is worth staying positive.

    • @Yetipfote
      @Yetipfote 5 років тому +2

      And another thing about faith: it is a believe in a higher power. God, yourself or nature or the universe... And believe is THE OPPOSITE of proof! You MUST get this. Not only does believe not need proof or something, it is THE OPPOSITE of proof! It is believe!! "Yeah but when I cannot proof God's existence, how am I supposed to believe in him??" THAT'S THE POINT, BUCKO! You must believe in it first. Then it shows itself.
      And I tell you what: no scientific proof EVER could've been made without a team of dudes who sacrificed the roundness of their asses to a chair for 20 years and BELIEVED in their subject. Before any proof there is always believe. It can't logically be done otherwise.

    • @stacyteal6221
      @stacyteal6221 5 років тому +2

      @@Yetipfote for me it is the faith in myself. Not that I don't believe in a higher power, it is that I had believe I could do it. I had to overcome it on my terms and prove to myself that losing my family wasn't going to stop me. There days I wanted to quit. There days I wanted to quit when my parents were sick and I was taking care of them by myself, but that isn't who I am. I couldn't walk away then or now. Somedays I struggle because I miss them but I am stubborn.

    Just so ...what we need to wake us out of this civilized "neurotic" mundanity where so much is or appears to be , just going through the motions , like really living for the last day ! War is the symptom the boil that must come to the surface of the body of humanity so that ...... The question for me is how can we or why can't we generate this kind of attitude and camaraderie , honesty and "realness" in civilian life or peace time ?
    No man have greater "love" for etc , but there are different types of intimacy , the gentle guard down man - woman type, son Mother type and the brotherly, more male bonding type or even the spiritual no knowing depth type otherwise another great one , yeah love the silence too not wishing to boost his ego any more the silent pauses say it all , here it is that final transcendental kinda saying "make way, . ". Great one

      The difference is the programming of minds. In the Military, they are programmed to believe they are superior to civilians. They are programmed to depend on each other, never question orders, to obey and do their job. Civilians are trained to do their jobs, obey, and not question authority too, but they are trained to suspect their peers and think of them as competition. Trained to consume, and lust. It's just different programming. Both scientifically programmed, but different.

      @@AmericanMadeAdventures Rubbish superficial nonsense !
      I would rather trust Jocko any day than some fat cat civil servant , head of business or selfish individualist , war the terror of it brings man right up aginst the paradox of life or death and the possibility of finding something excellent in the call to duty , the right thing to do a form of self-sacrifice that few mortals ever have to entertain .
      What soldiers do with this from then on marks them out as heroes or not if after the fight they regress back to selfish way of small world existence then the awe fullness of what they have been through hasn't really sunk home , civilians in the main are a lazy good for nothing lot , selfish soft and cowardly they do not care for anyone except their own families , cliques or groups , basically thier own selves , you have not been to war nor it appears are you able to imagine what it is like , one could say God allows war to purge humanity of sickness.
      What else will work when civilian life in the main has sunk to levels of depravity that would sicken most soldiers on active duty , but yes brainwashing occurs accross all levels of society and is not a good thing.

      @@richardprice9730superficial rubbish huh? Lol. I never went to war but I served in the Army, and would have went to war if needed. I expect there will be war here at home to defend the constitution, and our Democratic Republic and I will answer that call when needed. My Grandpa fought in WW2, my Dad fought in Vietnam as a 2/5 Marine. I understand war. I didnt say anything against Jocko or Tim. They are both far greater men than me. I really dont get how your reply makes any sense as a response to my comment. It doesn't matter though. Have a great day.

      @@AmericanMadeAdventures You have misunderstood what Ive written , yes of course no one in their right mind wants to go to war or for there to be war , but paradoxically unless I have been listening incorrectly to many of Jocko's podcasts it is this very artificial sense of confrontation with all one fears and the call to duty , to fight honourably in defence of something they believe in with others beside them that is th mark of a true warrior , it is the camaraderie under fire, the shear determination , guts and courage that forces them together as "one band of brothers" , what I am saying is that it is a shame it takes war to do this , to produce this kind of solidarity and commitment , perhaps I should say in defence of the truth , in brotherly love , with a determination to question and go deeper into what is the most meaning full , to live life with an ever-increasing degree of integrity . But of course each person might see this differently and each person must decide for themselves .
      But sadly in the sophisticated fat cat capital;ist society that typifies so called Western democracy , the opposite is true.
      Again I do not think most soldiers either never question orders , or so much depend on others as expect the other to give of their all in the common cause , however in civilian life all forms of subterfuge , pettiness , cleverness and greed proliferate in war this doesn't tend to happen .
      It does happen in the countries where megalomaniacs seize power and rule by coercion and fear , as happened in Nazi Germany with the morphing of the socialist party into Hitlers vehicle for oppression and tyranny . It was this which finally galvanized other nations to go to war with Nazi Germany .
      Do you see my point now , although it creates huge suffering, the apple has become so rotten what else can occur , it is all most inevitable ,.
      Please don't talk to me about democracy it is all but a myth today when your president seems to be intent on causing a rift between Mexicans and right wing America as if they are the problem , when in fact I presume they will do a lot of the menial work in your country , he has abandoned serious talks in Europe around climate change , he has revoked a lot of the new legislation President Obama struggled to put in place to protect disadvantaged citizens, and he makes comments such as "I don't really want any poor people in congress , but I will if you force me to " , preferring of course the company of his millionaire cronies , it is a sick joke isn't it democracy , what a way to run a country !

      @@richardprice9730 Trump didnt cause a rift between Mexicans and "right wing america". The people that control Hollywood, mainstream news sources, and education systems - the key propaganda centers - did, for a purpose.
      People that cross borders of sovereign nations illegally and legally have been weaponized. They are masses of potential "voters" and soldiers to back the leftists and displace the white Christian conservative majority. A move that would be devastating not only to the USA but to the whole world.
      Only the most gullible of sheep believe the "climate change" scare tactic. It is so sad that so many people so easily fooled. The silent majority wont fall for that massive scam. I really feel pity for people that parrot such ridiculous lies and believe them. The constitutional republic is more important than democracy to me. Without check, democracy is just mob rule, and there isnt much merit in that type of society. Trump is not the enemy. The globalist cabal minions embedded in our govts, and corporations that seek to divide us, weaken us, dumb us down, control and eventually kill us are. I appreciate your comments, and your perspective even though I dont agree.

    I’ve got a question. So, I have a player on team who doesn’t care if we win or not. And when I give him constructive criticism, or I give him tips on what to do, but I’m still hard on him to an extent. How do I get him in the game? ...help please.

    • @gnarthdarkanen7464
      @gnarthdarkanen7464 5 років тому

      Ask him the real question.
      "Look if you don't give a damn we win or not, why do you even bother showing up? Why practice?"
      You'll get one of two answers. Either he has some reason to bother, and he's just giving up the angst over win or lose to protect his own fragile ego... {and you have something to work with}
      OR he doesn't have any reason... {and you can either offer something helpful, or send him packing}
      Protecting a fragile ego is one thing. Lying about giving a damn is another. If he's lying about it, and he just doesn't want to care so much, teach him to "leave it all on the field"... If he doesn't he's always going to wonder "what if I'd tried just a bit harder?" AND that eats you up from the inside.
      If he's authentically retreating from caring to protect his frail insides... you have to find a reason for him. Find his reason, whatever he needs that this team and game can deliver, to get him invested.
      AND don't forget to teach him that it's fun to play! That gets lost on a lot of coaches and through those coaches, a lot of kids... some of whom grow up to be professional athletes in their sport. They still don't know how to have a good time playing.
      ...and at the end of the day, it's still just a game to play.
      Sure, it takes the skills, the endurance and a certain quality in strength. That's why you train and practice. That's what God invented drills for. BUT once those skills and physical qualities are refined and honed, the GAME is still a sport, a chance at getting out there to show off among friends and have a great time.
      Competition is all well and good, but it's got to be more than a business.
      Reasons to invest???
      Scouts... Colleges or Pro Leagues and Agencies are looking for fresh athletes all the time. Excel at this level, and one can get noticed. Build a record of excellence, and tuitions get paid. Pro's offer multi-million dollar contracts. Even Semi-Pro' Sports has some celebrity status, and a few pubs in town to offer free drinks to "the local lads". Stuff comes to those who work hard and show it.
      Girls dig guys who can play pro-ball. They don't like to admit it, but they enjoy the fights in the center of a hockey game a bit more than most of us guys do. Scars garner sympathy and a lust for the stories behind them.
      Fame and fortune can dig you out of almost any sh*tty situation you might be fuming about inside just now. Life in lower middle or just lower class crumby neighborhoods and housing... Piss poor equipment at a piss poor school in a piss poor district... Zero recognition for the work already put in, and nothing special to show for it...
      Working hard to make better of yourself, and never giving up hope can carry you a lot farther than "I don't give a f***!"
      AND what if he authentically will never ever give a f***?
      He's got to go. One monkey don't stop no show... BUT a bad monkey can tear the whole circus to the ground. Sports aren't great because they're easy. It's not for everyone. If you can't get your sh*t together and put it in the field, then you can't be part of a well refined and finely tuned team. It's that simple... either bench him, or cut him loose as soon as possible. A single guy proclaiming not to give a f*** is absolutely poison to the morale of the rest of the team... Why should they work harder because you keep around the ONE guy who doesn't care diddly what happens on game night?
      I know I'm not Jocko, and it sounds rough. Hopefully, he'll wise up before you kick him loose... BUT it is what it is. This is still a sport, and the competition will EAT YOU ALIVE along with the whole rest of the team if you don't. As much as we hope and work for the lost kids out there... sometimes you have to keep your obligations to the others on the team, rather than push so damn hard for the one that just ain't working out. ;o)
