Honestly I have seen so many of your lighting videos, and I love how you always try to explain the fundamentals. I dont understand how you do not have more subs though!!
Super high quality as always. Even though the best advice to give to a beginner about lighting is that there's no secrets about this. It's highly scene dependent and beginners should gather the most lighting solutions as they can to face all ligthing scenarios. Sometimes a simple sky texture is gonna be way better than the best Hdri. Sometimes only a point light with ies light node will make the most realistic render. And sometimes it's gonna be an hdri map. One bonus tip : I'm an archviz artist and the most precious thing that I learnt about lighting an architectural scene is that cloudy Hdris work better than an over contrasted sunny Hdri. In photography you'll rarely see any over contrasted scene but rather pale, greyish and not eye appealing pictures. Like what you see in Google Street Maps. If you can get this kind of look, you'll won the game. Not at first but if you compare this kind of pictures with an eye popping, contrasted and colorful render, you'll understand what photorealism really means!
Wenbo, you are a gem. thanks for all this in depth knowledge about product renders, it really helps a lot to people like me are newbie in this field. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for this and all of the other wonderful tutorials you have give us! I had several "aha!" moments in this video, and I'm so grateful to you for teaching me!
I really love the idea about getting "the tool work for you not the otherwise "vibes from your video . With those mindset we can use your awesome tips in any 3D software . Super thanks and I `m planning getting/investing in your course after getting paycheck from freelance gigs
Thanks:) I have not tested it yet, I dont think you can mix these two together seamlessly without many testing. I would recommend you do choice one of the method, keep the lighting simple. hope this helps
Thx for a video) Maybe I can have a wrong understanding, but hdri with studio light that is same as like areal light setup, but with 360 degrees distortion and that can be easily reproduce without a hdri map?
I don’t quite understand your question, HDRI have some limitations regarding light control, but it is a quick and easy way to get our scene illuminated
Funny how I purchased just yesterday the same type of mask. As a blender novice I think I know how to model this type of object. Thank you for your tutorials, these things are exactly what I'm interested at - modelling and lightening objects from the beauty industry. Your videos are very valuable because of your photography knowledge and your ability to explain photoshoot setups.
Thank you for this! I have had trouble rendering out HDRIs as backgrounds or reflections - any tips? Sometimes with reflections, I can see the light in general, but not the crisp reflections. And with the backgrounds, sometimes they come out oversized not what I see my previews. Thanks if you have any setting ideas. Appreciate your work!!
thanks for the video. I have a problem on both eevee and cycle when I put the hdri nothing appears. you do not see the picture as you do. with cycle you can see only in the reflections on the redering but with eeeveee nothing works. not even on renderings
Hi, I'm a beginner in Blender and I find it very difficult to create something in Blender. I would need the project with the cream bottles, can you help me? Please.
My problem comes from having Sunlight cast shadows, and these don't align with the HDR shadows, even after Binding to Texture or Sync to Sun. Big headache. That would make a good video.

I was able to render brighter with the video
Is that what you want?
@@WenboZhao not really.

Check out HDR Light Studio - www.lightmap.co.uk/ It makes targeting surfaces with light pretty easy with it's LightPaint feature.
thanks for sharing🤓
Very informative! Thank you
