Your approach as a photographer I'm finding to be the most helpful in explaining not only how to set up and light a scene but also the why which is even more important. I'm a graphic designer early in my Blender journey who loves photography but never learned much about studio lighting. Thanks a ton!
Loved your video ! Thank you , one questiocantn is there a surface which can have shadow and reflection both ? in my head i think in real world shadows and reflections can not coexist on the same surface ? and i know that in blender it is possible :)
Hello, my dear master. I hope you are great. Your teaching was amazing for me. I really needed this training to create a light studio to produce posters of my work for the 3dsky website. Of course, I didn't need the reflection of my model on the stage floor, and I moved the screen below the models away from the model, and the reflection was fixed😄😄😄thank you sooooo much,
Lots of valuable information. I think it's worth mentioning that using Filmic won't give you perfect white no matter what you do. It may appear white, but the color picker will tell you the truth :) So sometimes it's easier to render transparent and later add background in Photoshop or Affinity.
It’s a great lesson. Thanks. I have got a question, tho. Why does my plane looks not red, but orange in False Color regime (obviously it means the surface was not overexposed ) when I make an emission material with the strength 2,5 like u did? To make it red I have to make emission strength at least 4. And when i do this, it reflects on the floor but doesn’t make it red. And I can see slightly the difference in color between the wall and the floor. I have to make the wall emission strength around 11 to make the floor reflection red. But at that time the model becomes too bright. What do I do wrong? Thank you
@@WenboZhao there is a slight color difference between the ground plane and the back emmision light. It is not looking seemless white. I can't edit it in Photoshop since it is a turntable animation of the product.
Hello! I don't know why ti doesn't work to me, only a part, almost everything is ok. The floor looks a little bit grey and there is a diference between the floor and the bacground. I follow all the steps... I think... it's not very complicated. What do you think could it be wrong? Thanks for the videos!!
yesterday i am following your another tutorial, using the trick, and it is working. but today it is not working .i have the same problem like the guy below. The floor looks a little bit grey. i have change the color to black or white, and the roughness is 0 .i don't know why it's not working...or is there something wrong with my setting.Anyway it's a very good tutorial!
Would you like to make a tutorial on white product on a white background and black product on black background. Because this is most complex thing what i am facing doing product rendering.
all depends on the complexity of your products, having additional option to create images is always better. You can always as others to do the modelling if you are doing production work
One of the best Blender tutorials I have watched since I started learning Blender. Keep up the excellent work.
WOW, thank you so much 😊
BTW, you can use the roughness setting (the ground material) to control the blurriness of the reflections, try that on your own!
Thanks the tips, bro!
thanx brother...............
Do you have a vdo for render a transparent products without background but looking nice and clear and ready to put on the other programs?

You’re so welcome 🤓
Your channel is now in my PRO TIPS playlist. Your approach is nuanced and in deep. We dont have much of that in Blender world. Good job!
thanks a lot bro! Really appreciate it
Joe You are my new Blender Hero!
No, you are the hero, I am just a guide

Thankyou for this. What are the camera settings that you use for this shot.
Excellent tutorial, amazing use of photography technics/physics that we also can use in 3D space, may be even better.
Thanks for your support🤓
This is amazing! Thank you, Wenbo!

I never would have thought about it like this.
Think like a photographer and light like a photographer my friend🥰
@@WenboZhao I do O:. but i guess i didn't take enough photography classes to learn these insider tricks.
Excellent! i will check your class
Thanks for tutorial
You’re welcome
some interesting gems in the form of tips and tricks in there Z. All this stuff adds up.
Thanks lot Tom👍

Incredible 😍
Now that is what i call informative
Thank you mate
thanks for share, your lighting series is very helpfull...
Glad to know 🥰
Man, you're like the missing link in Blender tutorial community, where ya'v been all this time hiding? 😊 This tut is absolute 🎉❤
Excellent tutorial. Thanks!
You’re welcome 😎
Hi Wenbo, Nice tutorial but what if I don't want the reflection on the ground to be there how do I archive that???
how do you get the nodes in the node editor to show the square previews above the nodes?
It’s a add on called node preview
Thank you! excellent work.
thanks:)
is this possible using eeve
Thank you!!!
Nice
thanks
Do you work with 3d products in real life scale?
Not very often unless client really want to or building a scene working with other exiting realistically scaled 3d assets
@@WenboZhao Tks. But u use any pattern proportion? Like 10:1 or other?
Wenbo, what about the other fill light plane, what is the emission strength
You are just going to eye balling, no exact ratio apply
Hi, what do I do if I dont want mirror shadow but normal grey shadow of the product? Thank you in advance.
Edit it in Photoshop might work the best

Could you plz make some product modeling and composition tutorial?
Will do, you can check out my other videos now, there are some modelling tips and case studies ready for you
@@WenboZhao I watched most of your tutorials.

Is background light bright enough or is the ground surface smooth enough, have you tried to change the ground color into black?
1. Turn your background light to black 2. Adjust roughness of the floor to your liking 3. Adjust the emission color of floor with strength of 1
Best tutorial 👴🏻

Interesting🧐 try restart blender?
Do you have an account on the Bilibili website and post videos?
Nope
Would you like to make a tutorial on white product on a white background and black product on black background. Because this is most complex thing what i am facing doing product rendering.
Could I request the Blender file for this light setup?
I share Blender files for Patreons only, sorry
Camera size?
36mm
how hard is it building the models? if you have a choice that or photograph what you choose? Very Helpful Video (:
