- Hey Scrappers! Josh here with another OBS tutorial! They just released the new OBS version 27 and with that, I wanted to go over the best streaming settings and best recording settings! This video will help show people the best settings for low end bad PC's all the way to people with great PC's that have chips like the new Ryzen 5900x or Ryzen 5950x. These settings also help out people who own the new RTX cards like the RTX 3060, RTX 3060ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3070ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3080ti, RTX 3090, and RTX 3090ti.

I have seen ALOT of videos about this and I just wanted to say thank you so much for explaining what each term means and why you are selecting it. It's so nice to be taught rather than just told what to do. I feel like I have way more knowledge than when I started which was the goal. You can't ever troubleshoot your problem if you don't know why something was selected in the first place!

I'm using x264 and getting iput lag despite cpu not being that high usage. RAM is around 90% though (and the numbers in task manager dont add up)

QUESTION. I have a 2 pc setup. gaming pc has i9 9900kf and rtx 3080Ti streaming pc has gtx 1650 super and ryzen 9 5950x 16core cpu my internet is about 900mbs and 35mbs upload everything should be fine but the stream is lagging a little every 5minutes or so any help? PLS? :(

So I keep getting an encoder error. I'm using nvench should I change it?
I want to tackle a 1080p/60 live stream (plus recording for archive) from a camera - no gaming so the PC's full resources are in play - and reading online that x264 will always be of the highest quality over NVENC and hence the better option for outright quality if the resources are free to handle the load. I want to achieve a decent bitrate too, in the 12k region. Can anyone advise the best platform to achieve this bang-for-buck - would it be an Intel platform or a Ryzen platform and what would be the best chip/series, or what's a minimum in terms of cores and chip generation?
Sidenote, I have a small SFF ex-corp machine kicking around, Core i5-6600 (3.3GHz, Quad Core), 32GB DDR4-2400 RAM - would this be sufficient to achieve the above?
Hey. Awesome video. I got a question tho. I stream on a r9 5900x and a rtx 3060 ti. Do you recommend using x264 on slow/medium or still recommend using Nvidia encoding?
No i recommend NVENC for that good of a graphics card.

@@ScrapyardFilms why tho? When I’m streaming off x264 with the exact same setup I’m only using 20% max of my cpu. Yet I get crazy imput lag and the occasional dropped frames. I don’t understand why I can’t x264 stream with my cpu even tho I know people who do it and have the nicest streams.
@@aaronlehman9549 They use capture cards and let the other computer stream their outputs. Capture Computers rely heavily on how high the CPU is for 4K Camera processing. The camera is the only one that NVenc is actually struggling with so they stream it with the CPU instead.
Running a Ryzen 7 RX6700M 5800H cant get anything decent, i'll give your settings a shot
3700x and 5700xt streaming Warzone at 1080p60 isn't possible even tho some say they can.. 720p60 settings or advice? I'm about to just get a dedicated stream pc .. so frustrating

Can x264 run smooth with my ryzen 7 3700x?
For Ryzen 9 5900x paired with GTX 1080 Asus Strix version, should I choose x264, or NVENc? I will be streaming CSGO which is really CPU intensive and I'm not really sure what to do.
Nvenc for the win. Its the native encoder. Its the best.

Nvenc on the 1080 is trash, even veryfast x264 beats it in terms of image quality. Just stream via x264, probably at fast. Since you have a beefy cpu, i doubt you will get any performance hit.

CPU enconding always will have a better QUALITY.
Nvenc is fast and should be okay for streaming for most people.
But with an R9 you can go CPU encoding and make use of a better quality stream and feel no difference on the game;
60Hz is the average refresh rates of almost every monitor... ever. I can't think of a single time i've seen a 30Hz (FPS) display outside of 24p films.

But 30 is standard, most video's on youtube are output at 30 @720.

i tried every setting on my 3090 and ryzen 9 5950x, still comes out like crap :(
I loose like 20% fps on my game when i stream with x264. i got a 5900x and a 3080ti. when i use new nvenc i loose MUCH less than that but the stream looks just a bid worse. why does x264 hit my gaming performance that much?
If your game uses a lot of your CPU, using x264 will also use your CPU, which makes you lose FPS.

Overclock your cpu
You need to use x264 fast and change settings to optimize it for best performance/visuals
ik this is two months old but if you still need help, i can provide it. I have a 5900x as well and i don't drop frames anymore in CPU intensive titles

This is a pretty low end system. You don't have a dedicated GPU, you have an integrated GPU on your CPU. This means your 8GB's of ram is shared between system and video uses. You're going to have a hard time streaming anything, but if you're determined play low end games and stream in 720p 30.
Nothing changed, still dropping down to some 14fps on stream. 2700X and 5600XT
Make sure you select the closest Server Location. Try this, let me know how it goes.
yeah mine runs fine and than out of no where every like 10 seconds it goes down to like 10 fps before jumping back up. Please tell if you ever found a fix.
i have 3600x but on medium i get cpu overload how do i fix?
put it on verry fast
Why would you want to stream on medium... you don't have enough cores for it. Try using veryfast and tweak some settings using eposvox secret sauce settings.
currently using a handmedown ryzen 5 pc and i need good enough settings so my pc or games wont lag
