    -Deep condition every week
-Apply indirect heat while you deep condition
    -Low manipulation styles
-Dont lay your edges all the time
-Trim your hair at least every 3 months
-take your time with your hair ex. Washing
    -keep your hair moisturized
-if you have low porosity hair please apply heat for deep conditioner

Contributing distilled (soft) water to make my veroy course 4b/4c hair soft and moisturized helped with growth I've never imagined while being under a wig for 1-2 years. Nothing but spraying under the cornrows before putting on wig, drench before going under the hard shower water and even dunk some or all on hair afterward. Wished more black people knew how great it is for our hair!

my natural hair was a disaster because i thought wetting it (more than a mist) more than every three days was over kill. but no product was working and my hair was beyond dry and brittle.
i have been wetting my hair everyday with hot ass water (i’m low po, heat is our friend) and my curls came right back to life.
just saying that in case anyone else had an irrational fear of daily cowashes- i watched so many videos and researched and couldn’t find an answer. i’m 3b with course texture, so it’s not too too much work. but dry times ARE annoying.
my hairs almost grown 2inches in 2months because i’m actually retaining growth.

Thanks for this video! I’ve been on this transition hard since beginning of the year so nothing here was new for me but I love hearing it, it’s a great reinforcement!
I’m on maternity leave right now, going back to work in January. I’ll have been off for an entire 4 months and it’s been fantastic for my hair because I’ve had designated wash days during the week when my husband is at work, and both kids are in daycare. Also because I’m home I can twist my hair day 1 then give it 2 days to dry (wearing slap caps for 2 days straight to avoid frizz and allow to dry naturally), then wear a twist out a day or 2, high pony/puff, then it’s time for wash day again. No idea what to do when I go back to work and I’m again wash daying on a weekend when I’ve got the kids and my husband here, then not having the luxury of slap caps which I can’t wear at work! Thankfully got my wash day down from 8 hours to just under 2 (!!), but idk what I’m gonna do about styling!? Haha been already planning. Maybe will have to stretch with heat then crown braid or smthg. Need to figure out styles :/
Sorry this was long and rambly. I’ll come up with something but thanks for listening! Lol if in fact you did read this whole thing 😊 (been transitioning since Jan 2019)

Amanda Clare Woow I’m so happy to hear that!! It’s amazing how much you can learn about your hair when you really take the time to! Congrats on your pregnancy btw 😊 I know it’s always great to air dry but have you thought about investing into a hooded dryer? It’ll seriously help you cut down your dry time, a great investment in my opinion!

    • @UptightCurlsbyAmanda
      @UptightCurlsbyAmanda 4 роки тому

Caramel Coils thanks for the reply! Haha I actually have both a Revair and a hooded dryer. I just try to not use heat, even indirect when I’m transitioning, but also have to remember that I have to live life lol I can’t explain to people at work that I have to wear my satin lined cap at work because my hair is drying. I go back in about 4 weeks so will start experimenting on 1 day wash and styles that can be ready to remove the next day. I think a crown braid for the week as a fashionable protective style my work.
It being winter and having to wear a big coat and big sweaters I’m very aware when I feel my hair rubbing against my clothes and possibly causing split ends. Lol this hair journey is driving me crazy! Gonna wear a scarf and hat for my commutes to protect against that if I wear my twist out. You gotta laugh at this stuff, and the memes write themselves 😂
