      @@yawboampong4230 HOW ABOUT: Use Organic Castor Oil as a *HOT OIL TREATMENT* after washing and conditioning hair with NATURAL products. Wrap in foil then a large towel. *STEAM HAIR* by sitting under a dryer for 20 minutes OR wear all day and your body heat will steam it. When heated, PLASTIC LEACHES CHEMICAL ESTROGEN that's why I didn't say cover with a plastic bag]
      🔹Rinse hair. Part into 4. Comb with WIDE TOOTHED COMB. Hair SHOULD feel softer. Braid in 4 plaits if going to Afro [OR do twists etc whatever decide] and AIR DRY or dry under Dome dryer.
      [Maybe make NATURAL GEL with Flaxseed Oil if you MUST use a gel after trying THIS 1st time without a gel. Recipes on UA-cam]
      🔹 *Take Hair vitamins. Drink 16oz water 3 tms/day, eat kale salad, sprinkle Ground Flaxseed on your food daily. Try Maternity Vitamins [add a Calcium bcs not 100% Cacium or Iron in them for some reason... Also HORSETAIL SILICA tablets [this is not a chemical silicone] which RETAINS LENGTH & should help SOFTEN HAIR.*
      🔹Cornrow hair in protective styles at night with REAL Organic Aloe Vera Gel [OR Glycerine] and cover with a Silky Scarf.

      so true! I'm currently in hair school, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about different hair types since they are severely lacking at school. i wouldn't feel comfortable charging someone to do their hair if it was the literal first time I ever did it/if I were learning on their hair. I would have to at least tell them so they have the chance to run away XD if they want someone who is more experienced in that style or hair type.

So many problems to have dealt with and vise versa because I am quite sure someone son wanted to give up dating after socializing with me be stuck in my ways. SELFISH until I learned to share and now I am not interested in dating because I like just being to myself and will socializing some away from home and when I make it in. No conversation. PEACE at my MIND all the time like that. Pray not to think of ah I want to talk to.... because ten times out of ten. I will say I should have left that along and stayed to myself. Don't sit in just anybodies chair. I just discovered Deva Curl Cuts! I love this haircut. Needed a new chair!
    Wrap hair at night! Wow! It's SO frizzy in the morning!
    Don't keep deep conditioner on longer than 5 mins? I grocery bag then watch a show.
    Porosity test? I need to find that!
    Hair burns at 450! I just started using a flat iron.
    Hold my hair straight while working on the scalp reduces tangles!? Wow!

      I really admire your kindness but I’d like to step in by saying that I’m a South African and we are not as poor in Africa as people think. Africa has poor and rich sections but so does every country. I go to a private school and a Porsche or any other high end car is an extremely common sight. 1 in 3 families own a high end vehicle at my school. I would suggest adopting someone from your own country because charity begins at home.

    • @isaacshingange3733
      @isaacshingange3733 4 роки тому +17

      Actually, we need rich people to stop exploiting the system more than we need foreigners to adopt anyone. The life you live isn’t that different from ours. There’s a stigma around Africans and sometimes I feel belittled by people thinking we are a charity case. We aren’t. At least South Africa isn’t.

      Not all black hair is the same. My younger sister is black with nautically straight hair. Tips for looking after your future son’s hair:
      1. Curl pattern doesn’t matter find out the porus (low porosity, high porosity, medium/normal etc)
      2. Find low maintenance protective hairstyles: I would recommend twists
      3. Get the hair trimmed every 6 weeks
      4. Use a hair cream ( I use Mane Curl hair cream that contains biotin) to seal the oil and water as moisture
      5. Sprits the hair with warm water in a spray bottle first then moisturise the hair and scalp with oil (pure coconut, pure avocado, pure vitamin e, argon or pure actor oil will do), finally sealed Yh the hair cream
      6. You should do a protein treatment every 4 weeks on your child’s hair
      7. It doesn’t matter if people with straight hair use the hair products just make sure it is for the porous of your child’s hair

You going yo a private school has nothing to do with your countries wealth. I get your point but that was irrelevant. If you are concerned about ppl belittling you, you should speak for the whole Africa because that's what ppl are biased about not a specific country. I went to a private school too. So does hundred thousands of Ethiopians but I can't conclude from one perspective either.

    Petrolatum and mineral oil does not clog your pores because the molecular structure of it is too large to clog your pores. I’ve been natural for 8 years now and I just went back to using grease and my hair has never been more moisturized. As long as you use it as a sealant and use a sulfate shampoo, your hair will flourish. Yes we wore protective styles as kids but if it truly clogged our pores, greasing our scalps like we used to wouldn’t have let our hair grow period. I know the natural hair community says it’s bad but they are misinformed. My hair was always dry when I used natural oils like castor oil, olive oil, avocado oil bc the barrier wasn’t strong enough to keep my hair moisturized for longer than 2 days. I’m 4b with a little 4a in sections.

    I just started using grease again a week ago and my hair has not felt better! I have thick 3c/4a low porosity hair that hates just about every leave-in condition on the market. Not to mention I feel like my hair sheds more whenever I use conditioners. So I only use aloe Vera juice and olive oil to keep my hair moisturized, but after awhile it just wasn’t enough. And oddly enough I started to see all of these naturals talking about how they are going back to using blue manic hair grease. So I said why not, it’s only $2.50 for a 12oz jar. And when I tell you my hair feels like baby hair 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾😌 it’s as if I died and went to heaven lol. I can’t remember when the last time my hair was this soft. So yes grease is for sure a sealant, but that’s why they made shampoo to wash it out. But blue magic says that it’s a conditioning grease and they were not lying.

    Bottom line, do whatever works for YOUR natural hair. I am working towards NEVER putting a perm in my hair again. I was to get it done in April, but the beauty shop was closed. What did I do? My husband colored it, I washed and conditioned it, and used a moisturizer and hair pomade mixed with several types of hair oils.
    I was amazed how my hair came out so straight at the roots and it curled as if I had just had it done. It is now thicker and more curly than when it was permed. Our NATURAL Hair is responsive to the Jheri Curl products. I would recommend using them as an alternative to using the Jheri curl perm.

She currently is recovering from some hair traumas in her previous placements and she is not comfortable with the length of her hair and so is not ready to wear it natural yet. I am curious about moisturizing her hair between protective styles. You mentioned not using an oil but rather a moisturizer first. I understand completely as it is the same with skincare- oils seal in moisture but they AREN'T moisture. I'm wondering if there is a particular moisturizer you would recommend before applying oil.

      Lydie N. I’m sorry honey the same exact thing just happened to me but I am trying to recover it instead of starting over. I have been natural 3 years I would be crushed if I had to start all over. I’m going to pray for your hair recovery and I wish you beautiful hair on your new journey.

    I completely agree with number one. I had to stop comparing my hair and wanting the hair of other UA-camrs. When I did that my hair did not thrive because I was doing everything that they were doing.When I started to leave my hair alone and listen to what it likes it thrived.

    You are right about that. I am 100%natural hair intill I start coloring my hair because I have gray hair on the front. So I decided to color now my hair is very very very dry. I can't get back 😫 😩 what ever I do or anything. I don't know what kind coloring hair it is but it surely dry out my hair.

      I'm in the exact same situation. Im considering dreading my hair cause nothing works. I moisturize, pre poo, shampoo, condition, LOC, rice water every now and again, trim every 3 months, low manipulation styles, and still no growth.

    • @jamaicangurl4u
      @jamaicangurl4u 5 років тому +14

      I have long hair but my opinion is that chances are that's the length your hair is destined to grow. Just look at the hair on any other part of your body, it grows to where it wants and then falls out. Your eyelashes and pubes will never grow long enough to cornrow. Yes, you may be able to improve conditions for hair growth, but your hair has a growth cycle that stops when it's ready and there's not much you can do about that. White people don't take half the care of their hair as we do and their hair grows just fine, that's because hair grows to where it grows and then it falls out and a new one takes its place.

      Yes indeed, Trinity! My mother always bought the Ultrasheen hair grease, until she got hip to "DAX" hair grease. The white, and ESPECIALLY the black Dax which smelled terrible! 😖😖 I hated going to school smelling like black Dax! We never used it, but I had friends who were stuck using Sulfur 8, which also smelled bad!😊

      But why are our mothers still trying to fight us to put this in our hair. Everytime my hair is dry my mom and aunt are like you need geese. Like you do know there’s other products out now. They are so lost when it comes to hair. My mom was asking me for her friend if you’re supposedly wet the hair before curling it. And they always put so much products on their hair and weigh it down it be looking all heavy and greasy. And I wear wigs but if I’m at home with my fro out my aunt will say my hair is happy and needs a perm. Meanwhile she has no hair and looks a mess 🤦🏾‍♀️

      @Vanessa Youance I'm returning to my hair grease roots as well and just today began to incorporate hair grease into my regimen.

  • @lavendereve
    @lavendereve 5 років тому +7

    I'm old enough to say that I had my first perm when I was 7 and back then the only brand was French Perm and it was not sold retail. I was greased from my head to my neck and two women applied it. All grease had a petroleum base, there only hair moisturizers was lotion (body lotion) or water and we all had hair down our back. We didn't have the no manipulation styles, you got you hair combed every day.
    When you hear people talk about the blue grease, they are not lying. Shampoo had sulfates, there was no such thing as prepoo and you didn't hear about alopecia ever.....
    Oh yeah, we got our hair washed every 2 weeks

    Great video. However, I use blue magic and it works so great to maintain moisture. It is great for twists outs (4C, mid porosity) - - curls hold and last longer -- plus more moisture.

    I’m mixed ( Black, White, and Asian) So my hair has a really different texture that some hairstylists are not familiar with. I went to a white hairstylist & she destroyed my hair... She really could’ve told me she didn’t know what she was doing or that she wasn’t familiar with hair like mine. Feel like this type of story is too true for a lot of people 😔
