In Ancient Rome, when the romans tried to take Scotland, the warriors would throw themselves on the spears of the romans to give another warrior the chance to take the soldier from behind.
I live in the United States and my ancestors come from Eastern Europe. I have no connection to Scotland at all but this anthem makes me cry every time I hear it. This anthem is just so beautiful and pure, I'm genuinely crying right now.
