I've never understood the fuss about Brightman. To be brutally honest, she's a bit of a hack and her voice has many flaws. There's first year students in conservatoires Worldwide that could sing rings round her on the best day she ever had. I'm still gobsmacked to this day she managed to make a career out of singing.

Unbelievable! We know she has an incredible voice and she’s fascinating, however the stunning show of Antonio Banderas was remarkable. She has sung with the best and Antonio’s performance was mesmerizing. He’s known for his talent but this is on another level! I have a new admiration for him. He’s definitely more than a pretty face.
That never, ever fails to raise goosebumps. Antonio would have been a perfect Phantom for the film (yes, I know he trained for it). There has to be something seductive about him for Christine to be so enraptured. The way Antonio looks at you…it’s all there in his eyes and apparently now, his voice too. That would have been a fatal combination even with the Phantom’s deformities. Such a pleasure to hear Sarah Brightman’s voice again. It must be a grueling role to sing otherwise anyone could do it and Christine wouldn’t be a prodigy. Glad to see Sarah’s voice is still as strong and compelling. She certainly hasn’t aged a day.

He said it himself, that he's rather an actor and storyteller, with just a mediocre singing voice. I enjoy his stuff, but for musicals there are better choices. Ofc Cumberbatch took lessons during his acting school time, but not everyone can be great everywhere 😉

Antonio Banderas surprises me with this performance! He gets into the character and his motives. The lyrics and the story itself are a bit creepy with a heavy tinge of tragic desperation and he encapsulates all of that with a really solid tenor performance. Usually the soprano they pick to play Christine does a phenomenal job, though I'd argue it's the easier role. The phantom's part here is so hard to get right and many miss the mark because the bar is so high. Banderas really does a phenomenal job with this and it shouldn't be understated how much he must've had to work to get that right!

So provocative and enchanting. The chemistry between Antonio and Sarah in this performance is hypnotizing. Her mesmerizing trance. His sultry glance. Andrew Lloyd Weber should have never replaced Antonio in the movie version. The world missed out on an absolutely captivating, provocative and enticing Phantom! Though his voice is not as powerful as other Phantoms, his performance is more than worthy with his heightened oozing sensuality as he seduces her with his eyes and prowls around her, yet won’t touch her. Yes, Antonio Banderas is a hunk even now about 20 years older than in the video. But it is hardly outstanding acting nor bringing the phantom to life when half his face isn’t hidden behind a mask.

True story I grew up in a very poor family. We always had a piano in the living room that my dad would play a lot. I never asked him what he was playing and he never told. Years later when my daughter was 13 I took her to NYC for vacation. She insisted we go to Phantom of the Opera. I didn’t want to go but I went for her. When they started singing I almost started crying. They were playing all my dads songs !!!!!

I know Phantom is supposed to have this loudly powerful voice, but I’m honestly in love with Antonio Banderas’s version. It holds this mysterious, foreign, and seductive tone that just makes you want to swoon.
not according to the source material. His voice was merely described as unearthly beautiful, as well as perfect in technique. Some guy shouting at the top of his lungs without much finesse is really not how the phantom should be portrayed, a shame that that has become the norm on stage.

Man, she hit every note PERFECTLY. That last note was nothing short of perfection. I liked it better than Emily's rendition honestly lol. Also, who the heck knew Antonio could sing?!?! He was amazing in this. I do wish his voice was an octave lower but the accent was a nice bonus as well. Loved it.
At a certain point the high notes are no longer live. You can actually distinctly hear where it changes from her live vocals to a track from back when she was in the show in the 80s. Not sure why they did that because Sarah has hit those notes live even at a much older age.
Sarah looks absolutely stunning! Her nail polish, lipstick, and eye shadow matches perfectly. Her dress is exquisite. And her green eyes are absolutely beautiful! Antonio is gorgeous and an absolute dream! These two together are so extremely breathtaking. 😍

I've never understood the fuss about Brightman. To be brutally honest, she's a bit of a hack and her voice has many flaws. There's first year students in conservatoires Worldwide that could sing rings round her on the best day she ever had. I'm still gobsmacked to this day she managed to make a career out of singing.

Unbelievable! We know she has an incredible voice and she’s fascinating, however the stunning show of Antonio Banderas was remarkable. She has sung with the best and Antonio’s performance was mesmerizing. He’s known for his talent but this is on another level! I have a new admiration for him. He’s definitely more than a pretty face.

That never, ever fails to raise goosebumps. Antonio would have been a perfect Phantom for the film (yes, I know he trained for it). There has to be something seductive about him for Christine to be so enraptured. The way Antonio looks at you…it’s all there in his eyes and apparently now, his voice too. That would have been a fatal combination even with the Phantom’s deformities. Such a pleasure to hear Sarah Brightman’s voice again. It must be a grueling role to sing otherwise anyone could do it and Christine wouldn’t be a prodigy. Glad to see Sarah’s voice is still as strong and compelling. She certainly hasn’t aged a day.

He said it himself, that he's rather an actor and storyteller, with just a mediocre singing voice. I enjoy his stuff, but for musicals there are better choices. Ofc Cumberbatch took lessons during his acting school time, but not everyone can be great everywhere 😉

I'm always in awe when I see people so talented and multifaceted. Both Sarah and Antonio give out an incredible performance.
Antonio Banderas surprises me with this performance! He gets into the character and his motives. The lyrics and the story itself are a bit creepy with a heavy tinge of tragic desperation and he encapsulates all of that with a really solid tenor performance. Usually the soprano they pick to play Christine does a phenomenal job, though I'd argue it's the easier role. The phantom's part here is so hard to get right and many miss the mark because the bar is so high. Banderas really does a phenomenal job with this and it shouldn't be understated how much he must've had to work to get that right!

I grew up in a very poor family.
We always had a piano in the living room that my dad would play a lot. I never asked him what he was playing and he never told.
Years later when my daughter was 13 I took her to NYC for vacation. She insisted we go to
Phantom of the Opera. I didn’t want to go but I went for her. When they started singing I almost started crying. They were playing all my dads songs !!!!!

The way he MOVES as he’s approaching her is FLAWLESS - he exudes Menace, Control, Madness and yet a kind of Love all in those few minutes! He uses his physicality to supplement his vocal range which is more limited than hers - but then whose isn’t! 😂 The way he tilts his head when he’s looking at her, as if he’s somehow puzzled by her - masterful touch!

not according to the source material. His voice was merely described as unearthly beautiful, as well as perfect in technique. Some guy shouting at the top of his lungs without much finesse is really not how the phantom should be portrayed, a shame that that has become the norm on stage.

Man, she hit every note PERFECTLY. That last note was nothing short of perfection. I liked it better than Emily's rendition honestly lol. Also, who the heck knew Antonio could sing?!?! He was amazing in this. I do wish his voice was an octave lower but the accent was a nice bonus as well. Loved it.

At a certain point the high notes are no longer live. You can actually distinctly hear where it changes from her live vocals to a track from back when she was in the show in the 80s. Not sure why they did that because Sarah has hit those notes live even at a much older age.

Ahhhh..Sarah is incredible. Antonio is the love of my life. I remember how he said he was so nervous having to sing this but he did a fantastic job! Can't count the times I've watched this, I get chills down my spine every time.
