You guy's should add something with guards and traits like some guard's can be a "hard worker" so they work better or some can have the trait "corrupt" and they can be helping some prisoners escape or get away with bad actions they're friends with.
Hopefully the game will include things PA1 had such as Chapels, shops, janitor Labour. It does feel like some things have just been missed out….. why can’t we have the same rooms we had in base PA1?
they have to release the game very early to get money back for the investment of making the game. this means a very basic game at start. They'll probably add more with time but for now the game looks very bleak. A lot is missing from the base game.

The game version being released in may is the released version, we shouldn’t be missing features because of “their investment” features like these should be in the released version. Just a thought, if it isnt already in the game: certain inmates should be at risk of being targeted by other inmates (killed or beaten regularly, or extorted for their commissary money or belongings). Inmates that are exposed as snitches, or inmates with certain crimes, for example. Keeping these people in protective custody would then be necessary.
does this friend system allow for natural formation of gangs? I am curious to know if higher friendship levels with one prisoner also means that their rivals/enemies become shared? Would've been nice for this system to be more in depth and go beyond 1 on 1 relations.
Relationships wasn't a thing in PA1 and it seems like a fantastic addition. I'd gladly sacrifice useless features like escape mode, multiplayer and all the nonsense from the latter DLCs, for better core systems like relationships.

Why are the sentences so low? A supermax prisoner only getting 30 days? A Low risk prisoner 13 days? How is that enough time for individual prisoners to make friends or enemies?

Also you need to be careful Prison Architect and Prison Architect 2 have the Gangs DLC. If a gang comes to your prison do not place them in the same block with their rivals or you will have a riot and your solitary torture cells will get full. Always keep gangs separated.

But hopefully criticism from the tailend of PA1's lifespan has been heeded, so that PA2 can become so much more. A sequel to a previous good game can make or break the series, so this is a pivotal step. And not one to be taken lightly.

They have a totally different tone, and it is because thry are marketing to a different crowd. Hell, the staff look like they would go to HR if someone suggests gritty and dark tones the first game was famous for. I'm going to say it's safe to assume all the content from the first game will be cut out for paid DLC. Basically PA2 looks like PA1 in 3D, but only half the game, a toned down pussified version, with 150 inmates to avoid a CPU meltdown. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it. Will not buy.

So far this game feels like 60% of PA1 with 5% of new stuff in 3D

They have delayed the game with another 3 months 2 weeks before release..
The initial release date was March 26th. We announced the delay to May 7th on February 21st.
