🗨 Which management tools do you think you will use the most in Prison Architect 2? 👀 Dev Diary: pdxint.at/pa2fh7
can you please make it silly like puking and farting and stuff, I know its not the sims but
I hope there's more than 3D and a couple of small features added to the game, especially from a security point of view, which is one of the main aspects of a game like this. For example, armed attacks from outside the prison to break out gang members could add a whole new dimension in terms of security.
Although it would be cool it doesn’t make sense not many people try to break people out from the outside in america
Yeah to be honest it feels like there’s not really anything new aside from stuff that they had to do/make sense for making the game work in 3d/with multiple floors
@@Notagmail9862 It doesn't happen/almost never happens, precisely because they're also secured for that case, so making it a very rare event, but one that could happen, would force us to take it into account when securing the prison. I've given an example, but many other things are possible, of course.
Please add a feature where Inmates during Riots barricades themselves. For example if you lost control over a room or Building during Riots, there is a chance where Inmates could barricade Doors so you have to use a different entrance. Only possible if the room/building has at least 2+ ways to enter. Also only Builders can remove those barricades after Riots.
This is an awesome idea but I feel like it would be better if guards could break through the barricades but only builders can clean it up.
Oooh my goodness
Maybe they could even just grab the objects placed inside of a room and use that to barricade it?? So the more stuff you put in larger rooms, the stronger their barricade could be?????
Oh my goodness good sur you have stumbled upon an excellent idea
Psychologist here. May i suggest that even after therapy, the person maintains a vulnerability toward addiction, frustration, and violence IF the environment is not ideal. Wellness is not always a straight line, and requires active work from the individual and system for maintenance of wellness. Look into stages of change in MI theory.
i've barely studied psychology at all but i gotta say this is just common sense. maybe if their safety need isn't quite met for too long, they'll relapse to their old ways?
Totally, your intuition is on point that instability risks relapse. It's why many people still go to AA/NA years after achieving sobriety. If you are interested to learn more, the stages of change in Motivational Interviewing outlines how to help others depending where they are at in their journey.
@@Tadobear that's really neat! all I have under my belt is an intro to psychology class and developmental psychology (that I really enjoyed!) really, if I wasn't in a busy major with a minor already, I'd minor in psychology as an excuse to take more :) it's so fascinating!
Thank you for a longer video. Much appreciated.
6:06 wheres death row and protective custody?
In a DLC
@@mrreaper9626 don't think they announced anything about a DLCs yet, they not released the game yet
@@AdamHinckleyare you new to Prison Architect? Despite the game not being out yet, you can expect death row and protective custody to be released with a DLC, same for gangs.
That’s what they did with Prison Architect 1 and that’s what they’ll do with PA2
@@nessunodiimportante2876 i'm on about PA2, that's why i was asking, if i wasn't new to the game, i wouldn't have asked for death row and protective custody? think both DR and PC where in the base game of PA
@@nessunodiimportante2876 You'd expect some DLC features to be included in a full sequel, but not even that, Death Row and Protective Custody were not only in the base game, but they were included in the very first Alpha early access version. In fact Death Row was a fundamental part of the introductory scenario. In fact Introversion didn't even release any DLCs for the game, all of their features were included in free patches, it was Paradox that started selling DLCs and none of their DLCs for PA have any real meaningful feature tbh. This game is a significant downgrade with the only improvement being the 3D with multi-level
Cant wait for lets game it out to host a tutorial.
I hope he has a tutorial on how to make mazes and create absolut chaos.
@@Jaybiooh He should host a tutorial on failure conditions.

OMG - me two fav youtubers interacting *faints*
This stuff is just far too wholesome for a Prison-centric video. I'll be coming by later with some cake... and random sharp objects to eat them with.
@@CharliePryor It's funny you should say that but I am genuinely really eating cake right now! I'll save you a slice.
@@TheGeekCupboardI hope you have enough for all of us
In prison achitect 1, the prisoners didnt walk through each other, they kind of floated away if they touched each other. That looked better than them straight walking through each other. Maybe you could add a 2d mode? Like they added a 3d mode in the first one?
Kind of defeats the whole purpose though, maybe not allowing prisoners to walk through each other would be a better fix
@@harryelliott-allen3707 Yeah
I'm excited just to have multiple floors that's what the first game was missing, I also hope we can have an underground like solitary floor in basement or something.
imagine an underground prison where the entrance gets collapsed during an escape attempt
Looking forward to this. Got over 200 hours in PA1. Slight concern about performance e.g. stuttering at 3:46 and 7:10. Hope it's not got the same system requirements as CS2 😆😆
This footage was recorded last year on an older build, we've since then had a lot of focus on performance and continue to have that to make sure as many players as possible can have a great experience in the game :D
@@PrisonArchitectOfficial That's good to hear. I can see myself sinking many hours into PA2. Thanks for the reply 👍
In my dream prison, it will need 1 solitair room per prisoner and most infractions will grant them a 24 to 72 hour in solitair... a 1x2 room with a bright light, no bed, no toilette, and a prayer mat (to ask forgiveness).
There were quite a lot of different versions of the game in this tutorial, from showing debug text in the game to the same menu but looking different between demonstrations. Very interesting seeing your design decisions - hopefully you settled on something ready for release!
Idk why I'm upset about fired employees' not walking out of the prison anymore...
The GeekCupboard: I love Penge and his videos!
Sending that love right back at you @joeclark7593 !

So, another question i have is abt the friends and enemy thing for inmates, if there will hopefully be a escape mode again, it would be cool if you can make them your enemy by attacking them and maybe some more ways, it would be cool if you could for example sell items to the inmates to gain other items or points/money and slowly make them your friend, if theyre your friend they will sell you things for low prices maybe, and when theyre your good friend they will give you stuff for free and follow you like in PA1, but ig this is way too much/complicated stuff but its just a idea
i really want rimworld to do the same thing as prison architect 2, essentially the same game but 3D
No workshops or do you have to research it?
No gardener ijn the work force?
Almost every one of these videos subtly show downgrades in comparison to what we had in PA1, even base game features aren't included. I had high hopes for it now that it's not an indie game a anymore but a well funded studio seemingly can't do more than 2 guys in their basement. There's nothing of value added in so far except for the multi-floor construction but I doubt it pays off the missing base PA1 features
Love Penge @TheGeekCupboard
Are all the DLC things going to be apart of PA2 or going to be in a DLC again
How long does a program take place?
The entire day or for one hour?
If its for one hour i would understand why u can only choose in 2 hour times
If not then it would be nicer if u could to select to start it every 1 hour
Preps the best tea and best biscuits
The game looks a bit off imo, but i'm happy to try it
it seems smaller. And not just in game mechanics that were available in comparison to the first game, but also just in the amount of prisoners you have in total. It makes sense of course, they are now all in 3d and it's important to not get overwhelmed with too many prisoners on screen.
But look at 6:17, the slider is at 40-50% (more or less) which apparently will be only 4 new prisoners. And in all the scenes we could see there never were a huge amount of prisoners present. It just a different feel than the first game.
Can you select multiple staff members that will have a key?
I like the punishment tab.
Will there be early access for those who have made a pre-order? I've been waiting so long and made a pre-order and suddenly the release date for May changes.
The most important question I have to the devs is do they have content planned for the next 5+ years? You have to remember, you're going up against an established game (PA 1). The amount of content in PA 2 needs to exceed PA 1, and take it even further. Look what happened to CIties Skylines 2. Cities Skylines trumps it completely. Not every remake is a good idea. These devs have a really large task ahead of them. We'll see if they're up for the task.
My interest in this sequel is tempered by the fact that this is the same dev/publisher combo that after buying Prison Architect from the original developers, not only did not fix existing bugs that were in the game, but managed to introduce NEW bugs and poorer performance.
Y'all should add like rubber bullets and gas (like mace) grenades so that way armed guards can be on catwalks and fire down some rubber bullets or gas during a riot
Still no death row inmates or protective inmates?
I won’t remember any of these tips come May
Quick question, cant you just make all your prisoners super max to increase funding a day and lock them away with minimum effort
I got it today on xbox. I have a question: Does the game support mouse and keyboard? 🤔
Are there gangs in PA2?
Estoy muy emocionado, ya quiero que salga y espero que tenga idioma español ❤
One thing I didn't like about prison architect and this one too it looks like are those arcade machines like i don't know 1 prison max to min that has arcade machines lol
Is there death row inmates???
There less programmes in PA2 than there was in PA.
Nice
Thank god someone new giving the tutorial
Hi :)
Multiplayer Multiplayer Multiplayer
Can't wait for my pc to die
i hope you make a better lunch then CS2 becous i refund it and im wating for this game
Can you create a prisoner
3fps mode engaged
Please make the guards holster their batons when they aren´t using them. It looks very hostile, have them bring them up when they need them.
don't worry, i'm sure that will be part of a "friendlier workers" dlc :)
@@martyruth77
Or a social worker dlc😂
🌹🌹🌹
Can prisoners or guards die?
yeah of course they can
Why did they have to make it 3D!? 😢
you sure it's not "Prison Intake"?
Looking forward to the Mac version :)
There is no holding cell ? ? ? ? ? That's sucks
Why are there no death row prisoners? Why, even though this is the second game, the real prisoners are still the employees who never return home?
Maybe there is just have to unlock it im not sure what was included in PA1 at launch
I am sure I am early with my comment: I see no contraband or continued criminal activity and no catching them in the act of. It needs to be more than suppressed violence and anger attempting escape. This could be BIG if they do it right but management has already messed up. Delaying PC early access so consoles may join on the same day. Early access is ready now for PC but console are being prioritized for marketing.
You can see from other videos that there is contraband and criminal activity - prisoners fighting and getting caught etc. Even in this video they mention allowing searching and punishments... Are you wanting the game to be bad? The game isnt even out yet and you're falsely claiming things are messed up.
Death Row DLC!!!!!!!!
Yesssssssssssss!!!!!!
Oh boy, look at that FPS. That doesn't look good. We saw the same in Cities Skylines 2 trailers...
Yeah thats the thing that was worried me throughout these vids. The framerate doesnt look great. Hoping these are old builds and performance has improved.
sweet, when will this game come out?
May 7th! :)
@@PrisonArchitectOfficial CHEESUS CHRIST I need to preorder ASAP how could I forget that??!!
Gangs?
Is it just me or have they just added levels and 3D models, it’s exactly the same game. Still can’t wait for it to come out. I’ll be buying it!
How long until content creators are able to show off the game in real time or video? Can't wait to see someone play the actual game.👍
It will be highly restricted, like CS2 was (empty cities never discussed, limited progress allowed, to limit the bugs shown), then a month or two after all the content creators will come out saying.. we couldn't tell you about all the issues. Naah, I genuinely hope this is not the case for PA2, but I'm not trusting anybody before its final release.
We will be streaming later this month! We're nailing down dates right now and will let you know a few days before! 📌
@@FxUkU2 I understand you fully. I am going to put a little more confidence in this game. Paradox understands the urgency for a good product right now. Double11, I hope, is not as lax as Colossal Order. 🤞
@@PrisonArchitectOfficial PSA, The more original game play content we see from our favorite content creators, the more this game will be a hit. Don't Colossal Order us please. You have a diamond in the rough, let us see it shine... 💍
@@EpitomeOfExcellence To be fair, I hope so too, but I've finally learned my lesson and pre-orders are off the table, I'll give it a few days after launch to see the real picture :) I hope they nail it, PA1 was epic, PA2 will likely playout a bit different (multi-floors/overview of entire prison etc) but there's an itch that needs to be scratched :)
is death row available in the new game
Why is the path finding so bad?
Why does the graphics look so bad compared to the previous presentation? objects and characters with anti-aliasing issues and bleached out colours. Hope its just the presenters machine or just graphics turned down to low.
Aliasing looks quite bad, is the game performing badlythat it needs graphicss settings turning down (it does look jerky - or is it a potato pc running it) or is it just poorly implemented AA technologies? i.e Character portraits, canteen table/benches etc.
And why is everything 2ft from the walls, other than wall fitments. Bit strange and offputting.
The UI on the other hand, looks clean and sharp and generally well presented.
everything like pa1 and nothing new.. :/
Any sneak peaks of DLCS 👀
Will female prisons still be a thing?
