I don't like the Intake process... seems silly to have prisoners just waiting around outside on the grass. The process should be as follows: Escorted by guard(s) from the bus, processed at reception, then taken straight to the holding cell. From there they get picked up by another internal guard(s), searched for contraband, then escorted to a cell. The point of the holding cell would be to cope with the intake bottleneck while waiting for an available guard to carry out the search, and escort prisoners individually to their cell.
Inmates were just left on the grass too in PA1 unless you had a reception where they would be processed there and taken to their cells and not a holding cell 1st unless there’s no space
Holding cell is also important if a prisoner goes up or down in security levels. You might not have enough max security cells if a bunch of medium sec suddenly move into it.
Reception rooms are no longer needed and they were never needed so you can still build a reception room but that is will be the same thing. It won’t make any changes just like the first game. Prisoners still get escorted to their to their cells if you watch the live streams you’d see that I think he’s playing on an older version.
One thing that I have always wanted is that the deliveries and prisoner intake happen within the prison walls. there is a whole list of good and bad things that could happen. prisoners try to escape under the bus, inside mail trucks....

looks good but - the prison looks too clean and shiny maybe some dirt and damage will make a more accurate depiction or at least texture - maybe create a nice aesthetic font so it doesn't look like word doc font floating in the air - this is a small one but shower drains and flooding - some more real features that were in the first game like death row, gangs and horrible stuff unless you want to make a game for children - I understand people like different styles but the UI looks minimalist and colouful like primary school furniture and its not for me - offices look dull I remember you could fill them up in the first game and they looked fancy - maybe add wall stuff the 2d game had wall stuff (edit it has wall stuff) - in another video I saw stairs without outside railings unrealistic, health and safety violation so maybe this isn't a realistic game and its just a game. but I like realistic games so that's what I always look for in games. - I like how you can see the city and things outside of the prison - admin and punishment system looks good - the detail outdoors and of the fences are good aswel

They delayed it for the last time back in september "indefintitly" while "working on optimization"....in other words, Paradox has in all likleyhood just scrapped this whole game. I kinda wish the colours weren’t so drab. Flat green. Flat grey. No different textures or worn grass areas or different coloured brick buildings… I hope we see some variety while maintaining the serious tone much of the game is going for.
Like someone have already mentioned, and a bit strange that prisoners wait near the road on the grass to be escroted, I think it will look better if prisoners can just *wait in the bus* untill guards arive and then one by one (like it is, one guard = one prisoner) prisoners will *leave the bus and be escorted* to reception zone. So in that waym prisoners, that aren't going to be escorted won't stay on grass and will stay in the bus

Don't be. It's going to be either A: just decent upon launch, nothing special. And then a ton of DLC to add basic things into what should be base game. or B: Terrible launch, with DLC that fixes the issues, and adds content, of course with a price tag.

ok my only complaint is the new ui a lot is better but a lot seems changed for the sake of change without actual improvements prime example being the regime menu which is already perfect in the first game

@dr.bherrin building a prison together. You see appear what the other person has built and you can add your own structures. You'll have to communicate to not both build a canteen at the same time. And eventually you can just make your own security section. One does max other does med.
Please put in something that offers the possibility that the prisoners can walk or eat faster. Because in reality everyone manages to eat and go to the canteen in 1 hour. Because you can walk 1km in twelve minutes.

We need diagonal walls! Every prison in America built after 1980 has diagonal walls. They make space utilization more efficient and make indirect observation easier by avoiding blindspots. This is the thing that made PA1 almost unplayable to me. I kept having wasted space when I tried making my housing units more efficient.
"So design whatever you want it to be, but I will do this way" is an instructional style that I appreciate. Simple demonstration, without imposing any kind of thinking or "I'm so excited" 👍 Since the game isn't available where I am (Russia), I will find a method to purchase it anyhow 🤜
This game lacks the grittiness of the first installment, but not only that, it’s not unique anymore. This feels like any other 3d builder sim on steam.
I'm disappointed now, this is the second time the game has been postponed, I think the game won't be released until next year. They should have said at the beginning that it would be September or whatever. :(

I swear the more i see the more disappointed i get a perk to build faster as the first option is the most amazing meme ive ever seen yeah we know build speed sucks here have this perk why would we make it faster or implement it at a later stage so higher tier walls or objekts get out faster nope make it first perk so players can say its such a bad designed game and give em more pain if they dont take this trash i really love such calculated moves from developers cant wait to see the upgrade to make the bed smaller in a 2x1 like the bunk beds are 😂😂 good job so far i see the paradox is deeply rooted in that one Well all said i give up on this sad reminiscence of pa 1 for these that stay i hope you guys have fun with it and i really wish it gets better then 1 but it seems so grim already

You can place them in buildings if you want to. I simply didn't bother doing it for this tutorial

On the contrary, drab is the best colour scheme for a prison game because that is how real prisons look.

I'm not sure if I like the whole "Rayman" style characters, but it seems like a pretty good translation of the 2D art style. It's growing on me.

How would that even work? One warden per prison.

One word - pods. Newer prisons have pods, and so should any prison game.

In PA1 i made solitary confinement as outside as fenced 2 by 1s with absolutely nothing in it. Needs to be a punishment after all :P

Yes and inmates can share cells now which personally is something I really wanted in the first one.

Modding support will be there. It's being done through Paradox Mods, so that it all has compatibility with consoles as well.
