Once on the sideline, he "walked it off" and in a few minutes was back in the game. In today's game he would have undergone a rigorous neurologic exam/tests but the neurologic injuries on the field in the early 70's simply weren't taken as seriously as they are now
The team names never entered my mind when i was a kid. The tv people never individualized the players with names. That showed and taught me as a kid that a team was one big cooperative goal minded monster that scared the opponents with their perfect rhythm.

Obviously the undefeated team had earned the right to a home field advantage, and it was absurd that it did not have it.
