Fun bit that is totally optional, but you can train Sif's touch aversion in the room at 20:15. Loop has to talk to you about it first, which I think can now happen after you saw that scene.
the fact that siffrin doesn’t even realise their own reaction to being touched - that’s what finally confirmed he’s Just like me fr. it took me like 6 years to realise i only want to be touched in specific circumstances because before that i thought i just didn’t have a choice
for the conversation with the lipsticked gloves--sif is stopping them from telling odile she's cute when she likes to learn things haha. she threatens to put spicy things in their food with bonnie's help. XD anyway this is still a lovely playthrough, thank you for it! i hope you're still enjoying playing a lot~
The room at 39:50 doesn't seem important (and technically it isn't), but besides having an answer for the croissant lore, it has the broken vial shards and a broken Change god statue, which I think are needed for some obscure achievements (though I'm not fully sure)
So the thing with the coin is dependant on where you are in the game. As of now, nothing will happen, but maybe later... Also, the way I understand it, the reason for why you keep things when you loop forwards is that you're essentially on autopilot. So if you pick up the Crying key on Floor 2, looping forwards is the same as physically walking to Floor 3 without fighting or interacting with anything. That's my take at least
It should be noted that you an still loop forwards after you use a Crest on the wrong tears, IE it would be physically impossible for you to get there simply by going on autopilot.
i dont know if you read the comments at all, but i see you often skip dialogue you have seen before. that's perfectly fine and everything, especially since you are recording, but do keep in mind a ton of extra dialogue with actually decently important information lies in previously seen dialogue, and also by checking everything twice. these are mainly from siffrin's thoughts on the conversations that will change and evolve as you loop or as the story continues, and that WILL be skipped by the fast forward. for example, for something you fast forwarded in this video, in the secret room, after you had the weird memory of siffrin remembering and forgetting having run away from home on a boat, next loops will have him not interrupt the conversation, which will make Bonnie reveal something important about them and their sister. checking the letter again will have siffrin comment on how dumb of an idea running away from home is and that he'd never do it... i usually opt for changing the text speed in the options and holding down the confim button, which makes the dialogues go by faster but actually gives a moment of time to stop or at least read when something changes suddenly. it happens way more times than youd expect. also, the dialogue options Loop has works like so. the first option gives hints on the main story progression. the second is one topic you can ask Loop every time you go back to town, while the last option keeps tracks of sidequests, you can clear them by talking to Loop and making the dialogue option disappear once you get the rewards for them. (just for fun, i suggest you give maribelle the gift from her fan at least one more time for a fun cutscene! :) )
Man, the plot thickens! It would be nice to know how the mechanics of this game around saving and fast forwarding really work since I thought I understood them but this episode made me realise I was wrong...
The way saving works in this game is as follows: If you start a loop in Dormont, previous loops are completely irrelevant to your progression. Whatever levels you've gained and items you've acquired in *that specific* loop are all that matter. Saving becomes a factor when you begin your loop anywhere other than Dormont. If you loop to a save point within the house, then you spawn at that save point at whatever the highest level you have recorded at that save location in a previous loop was. In addition, you spawn with all items you have ever recorded at that location *unless* those items were obtained on the same floor (because otherwise you would be able to get infinite items). In addition to the above rule, there is one more rule: if you are looping *forward* in time, you keep all items and souvenirs that you had previously obtained in your current loop. However, you lose those items if you are looping *backward* in time. This means you can loop back to collect something in town, or on a lower floor of the house, and then loop back forward and keep what you looped back for. With the exception of the previous rule regarding looping forward, you will *always* lose all of your souvenirs at the start of every loop - those must be manually collected every time unlike other items.
27:02 What a very good game. Honestly this is hitting me harder than Void Stranger. Power Creep is so sad 31:16 this game is so good. Very natural, political TTRPG Dialogue 58:31 Good that you looped away the clothing designer bit. This is another *screen darkens* moment. Is it a 3 strike system?
I was lucky when I first found that book Bonnie was looking at because I immediately remembered where the copy of that book was in the house so I didn't have to do this intense search for it ^^; only now realising how daunting that is if you don't remember it
When looping forward you keep everything you have on your inventory.
You only lose items if you loop backwards before you got the items
The "a knife! No!" got me; that was so good. Without missing a beat
One day we'll be able to see a knife without saying it lol
